Halloween MegaStore

The coolest halloween place I have been to in a while. Cool and suggestive staff. Store is clean for its nature amd flow of trafic is pleasant.

HUGE costume selections! Tons of wigs and makeup– even the professional stuff like Ben Nye and Mehron. It is the only place around town that is open ALL YEAR! Its great for when kids have school projects they need costumes for or themed parties.
Seriously the best ever.

Let me first say, my family has been shopping at Halloween Megastore for the past 3 years. We’ve spent thousands of dollars there. They blow Party City, Halloween City, Halloween Express and Spirit out of the water in costume and accessory selection, and they carry a large selection of unique costumes that I’ve yet to even see anywhere else (in addition to many of the costumes you’ll see every year, at every Halloween store). Halloween Megastore is THE place in southwest Florida to go to buy a costume – and they’re open year-​round, so you can start your shopping early, like I tried to do yesterday.
However, this is NOT the place to go if you’re looking for great – or even good – customer service. Upon entering, my fiancé and I were greeted by a young lady, who asked if she could help me find something, to which I chuckled and replied, «I wish it were that easy.» (It’s a pretty big store and I was clearly overwhelmed.) She said, «OK, just let us know if you change your mind.» … but as we walked off, we heard the two giggle as another employee – a young «man” – mumbled to her (and I quote), «Translation: ‘Don’t waste your time, We’re not going to buy anything, anyway.’»
Despite the fact that I wanted to try on an Incredible Hulk costume and beat some manners into that idiot, we spent a good hour/​hour and a half in the store looking around – NOT asking questions, NOT bothering anyone, NOT picking things up and putting them back where they don’t belong … just minding our own business.
When it came time to try on the costumes, I had 1 and my fiancé had 2. Another young woman assisted us with removing the costumes from their packages. (Could have been the same girl who greeted us – I’m not sure.) Unfortunately, my costume didn’t fit right – so I brought it back out, folded it, and packed it up myself. My fiancé’s costume came with a few accessories, which the girl refused to let him try on. She told us they were «forbidden» to allow customers to try on accessories, that way nothing gets lost. I can totally understand this policy when you have a busy store full of people, or even a handful in the dressing room at the same time … but we were the ONLY people there … and he wanted to try on a belt … just a belt, to see if it would make the jacket he was wearing look less goofy, and more like the picture on the package… but, nope. Instead, she told him, «Trust me – I’ve seen people wear that costume before, and I know it will fit you.» (Ummmmmmmm … Sure, ok … because it’s YOUR $ 100 paying for this costume, right??)
So, yeah … that was basically the last straw. We were no longer excited to be Halloween shopping, but annoyed and ready to get out of the store. The idiot kid must have been psychic, because he was right – we didn’t buy anything … but I hope his boss is reading this, so he or she will know the employees were mostly to blame. If your customer service personnel are going to mock your customers, they should at least do it out of ear shot … especially with a tattoo parlor adjoining the store. (They may say something to or about the wrong person, and end up having to permanently wear a set of «Bubba teeth».) Truthfully, I live in North Naples, and after this experience I’m not sure I’ll be making the drive back up to Fort Myers this year.
(P.S. Their prices are a bit high, even for costumes you can find at other stores.)

Store is entertaining in itself such a huge selection! I didn’t think the prices were bad by any means! I bought a plastic fun for my SWAT costume and it was cheap compared to even the prices I found online. You definitely could spend a lot of time in this store
