Hands down, the best and most fresh pretzel I have ever had. The Farmers Breakfast was yummy according to my wife. A bit far for us to drive for dinner, it was perfect for breakfast on our way home from Sanibel. We will back!

First time at Ft. Myers Beach and stumbled upon this little café as we were walking around, and I’m glad we did! It’s right next to the Red Coconut RV park. It was empty when we walked in around 8pm, but a few other small groups of 2 and 4 came in within the next hour. The free bread they give is freshly baked and comes with a very flavorful mayo & garlic spread, and a butter & herb spread. Yum! We ordered the Jaeger Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes and spätzle(kinda like chopped egg strips) which we shared between 2 girls and it was very filling even though we split it! And then our other friend got the Bavarian Platter which was massive, but he cleaned up every bit of it. Both dishes were very satisfying and delicious! :) It is a little expensive per entrée, ranged between $ 16-$ 22, but does come with choice of 2 sides or salad. But, you won’t be disappointed with the flavor and taste. Would def come again!

We came in early for dinner. I know the staff is German but not ready for the cold service. I have read about the delicious potato pancakes and was looking forward to them. All our food was overcooked, the potato pancakes were extremely thin and so overcooked they were hard all the way through. Will not be going back.

Stopped in after being stuck in horrendous traffic on Ft Myers Beach. Had probably the best blackened grouper I’ve ever had, and was pleasantly greated by Heidi herself! If you’re in the area and looking for a great spot(German and seafood alike), this is your place.

My wife and daughter came across this place after a long trip across Florida. It is in a little nondescript plaza next to a Chinese restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a little gem that serves authentic German cuisine. My wife had a special, Roulade, beef that was cooked for 5 hours in a savory sauce. I had Nuremberger bratwurst with sauerkraut. Our daughter had cheese schnitzel with German potato salad. Each dish was fabulous. No liquor license alas, but washing the food down with draft Warsteiner is a happy experience. The service is great, and Heidi, the owner, was very hands on to ensure everything was just right.

The dishes were authentically prepared. Everything we tried was delicious and their were 16 of us. The liver dumpling soup may not sound appetizing but it was. The lobster soup was presented with fresh lobster in the bowl then the bisque was added table side. If you don’t eat pork, chicken or veal may be substituted with the schnitzel. The sauerbraten was fork tender. The home made rye bread with the aioli sauce was unique.

Amazing huge portions of authentic German food in SW Florida. I would never had expected two massive slabs of schnitzel smothered in a beautiful beer mushroom sauce right off the beach. The potato pancake, pretzel and brats were to die for. Highly recommended!

Happened on Heidi’s after a mid morning bike ride when a cool beverage was in order. We both had smoothies and decided to return for supper. The host, Heidi herself, was very charming and made us feel at home. Vienerschnitzel with shpaetzle & kartoffelsalat. I had the special, lamb chops, green beans & pan fried potatoes. Shared apfelstrudel for dessert. All wonderful!

Very nice German bistro. Stopped in for breakfast and had their eggs Benedict. Very good, eggs poached perfectly. The the whites were firm and the yolks were runny just the way I like. Canadian bacon was not too thick, the English muffin was nicely toasted and the hollandaise sauce was nice as well. The hash browns were nicely fried and properly crisped. The German music was also a pleasant touch.

We had two meals here — a dinner and breakfast. The Wiener Schnitzel is the real thing, don’t miss the braised red cabbage! For breakfast — pancakes, eggs benedict, breakfast potatoes, all excellent! The service is friendly, the food is authentic, and there’s plenty of options for potent potables, all served in the appropriate glassware — always a plus.

Don’t tell anyone about Heidi’s Island Bistro. We don’t want anyone to know about this place. Best sauerbraten I’ve eaten in a restaurant. Potato dumplings are great. We keep coming back
