Awesome sandwiches and wraps. Fresh baked bread. Oil and vinegar straight from a sampling vat in the dining area. Just moved to the area and already found my go to spot for lunch.

Needed picnic food and stopped in for sandwiches. Everything was delicious, and reasonably priced. We didn’t get to try the hot food, but everything looked great!

We stopped off in Fort Montgomery in late June in order to pick up a mail drop on our through hike of the Appalachian trail in 2015. We were also hungry(ok, we were almost always hungry on the trail). Pizza was always a «go-to» choice on the trail — quick, easy to eat, lots of calories. I did not have high expectations since the sign said pizza and sushi. Really? We’re we ever surprised! We ordered a simple margherita, but it was far from simple. The crust was impeccable. Nice and crunchy on the bottom, but still a great chewy texture. The mozzarella was fresh. The tomatoes were ripe and sweet home grown. And the BASIL was picked fresh out his back door. I wanted to rub it all over me it smelled so fragrant. We walked the entire 2,189.2 miles, from February 20 to Aug 19 and I can unequivocally say that Foodies had the best pizza we tasted in all fourteen states from Georgia to Maine.

I think the food is good, but the owner makes a person feel uncomfortable… like asking for my phone number and hitting on me — more then once. The other worker was apologizing for him and I could tell he was embarrassed. If I wasn’t starving I would of left. This happened a couple months ago and I haven’t been back since.

I would give this place an added star if it were a bit cleaner. I definitely had low expectations by the sight of the place. The interior is dark, but spacious. Table tops were dirty from previous customers. Dirty table tops can be excusable when restaurants are packed and too overwhelmed to keep up. But this place was empty. We arrived well after lunch time, and no other customers were in sight. The bathroom is only accessible via walking through the kitchen, behind the counters. Filthy towels were visible not far from a huge pot cooking up tomato sauce. I tried to avoid finding anything else I might find offensive.(Admittedly: I am a little over-sensitive to these things.) Having said that — my friend and I were committed to trying out the food.(We were only in town for the weekend and were not eager to waste time exploring elsewhere.) Boy am I glad that we stuck around! The sandwiches we had were delicious! I had a simple grilled cheese. But it was delicious! I expected it to be not much better than a diner with flavorless white bread and«cheese product» in lieu of cheese. That was not the case! Instead it was served on a crusty french loaf bread, oiled lightly(not greasy!), and filled with genuine quality cheddar. My friend had a caprese panini on quality bread and drizzled with what looked like homemade pesto. The few staff members present(whom I suspect were the owners), seemed at first distant and a bit rough around the edges. By the time we left, they struck us just simply sincere.

These guys are awesome. Great selection, good food, perfect after a nice hike! The place is nestled off the«main» road so GPS may help. Will definitely be back after next hike.

The Pizza was dry and the crust was not very tasty at all. They only make one size pizzas and it was too small for my family. Foodies has a very limited amount of grocery items so I find it hard to shop there without having to go to another deli right away. I wish product prices were on all their items. I’m glad though they are selling sandwiches which are pretty good.

I never actually ate at Foodies, but our first impression was terrible. My two friends and I were looking for somewhere to eat in the Bear Mountain area after a hike at Anthony’s Nose, and we stumbled upon Foodies. We went inside and checked out a menu. Granted, it smelled good in there and I’m sure the food(esp. pizza) was good, but the guy working behind the desk was harassing us from the minute we walked in. We were looking at the menu and he wouldn’t shut up. When we decided it was not the type of place we had in mind to eat at and started to leave, he harassed us even more. Very annoying and unprofessional. It is also a very divey place– probably best for to-go. Not a sit down lunch or dinner type of place. Anyway, we were really creeped out.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after a hike like most others and had an AMAZING pizza! The Grandma’s Pie is delicious and looks fantastic, too! Go here if you hike/visit the area! The staff is super nice, too!

We had been on the road for a good part of Easter, came home late, nothing in the fridge. We called foodies and they had literally just closed… but they took our order anyway! Delicious food and they treat their customers right!!!

Out of towners looking for a quick bite to eat. Not too speedy, but the owner is super nice. Quaint little restaurant, it’s got a home-y feel. The gyro sandwich was really good, and the chipotle chicken was more than enough food. Overall, nice place to eat.

Great find!!! Nice little deli and pizzeria near bear mountain bridge. We stopped and before a hike and got some lunch ti bring with us. We had tuna salad, potato salad, Mediterranean salad, and a wonderful cilantro chicken dish which was some of the best chicken I’ve had in recent memory. The owner is very enthusiastic and is really really nice. If you’re looking for a spot to have lunch or dinner in a deli/pizzeria atmosphere stop in– the food is great!

Based on some of the other reviews here I must have hit this place on an off day but, they were definitely below average as far as I am concerned. I had a sandwich, roast beef, I think. The bread was the best part and, it was just OK. There was very little meat and, almost no flavor. I think my wife had a caprese sandwich which was no better. The service was OK, maybe average.

Stopped in here to carb up before a hike. All staff were friendly, especially Tony. had a taste of pizza which was good, and a mozzarella sandwich. The sandwich was a good size and filling and was only lacking in not having homemade mozzarella. But I may be a tad bit spoiled in the mozzarella department. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area, and Tony is great to talk to about which local hikes are good.

I really try hard not to be a cranky eater, but… apparently over the holiday weekend every last one of the regular staff took off… the temp hires were nice(well one of the two didn’t speak English, so I’m making an assumption there) but not knowledgeable about the menu or really well versed in food prep, it seemed??? When I first looked at the creative and interesting menu, I wanted to try something like a specialty salad, the risotto balls, their baked chicken wings, a homemade soup, or one of the other house-made specials, as there were many items that seemed tasty… BUT, wanting not to get myself in over my culinary head, I stuck to one slice of veggie and breaded chicken pizza, majorly motivated to do so by the staffing situation. S/O got a cheese steak sandwich with jalapeños. Both were edible, but so incredibly far off from what I expected when I rolled into a place called«Foodies.» Note to management– use your regular folks, or better yet, yourselves… and when you/they aren’t available, just close for a day. It’s a local joint, you really can take the liberty to do that now and then… I’d rather come by and be disappointed the place was closed rather than be underwhelmed by a place that everyone else raves about. UPDATE: My S/O went back here for dinner on a REGULAR, non-holiday weekday when he was traveling for work in the West Point area. He said, «The food was just as good, if not better, but if you can believe this, the service was actually worse.» Who woulda thunkit?
