Goods food at a reasonable price. Run by Japanese staff and speedy service. Udon was good and combo dinner good value. Good sushi in my combo dish was unexpected. Would go back

For Soba lovers this place is excellent. Great staff and fresh food. There are also other options like udon and rice bowls. For those that are use to your standard Restaurant soba, these will not be the same. The texture is more Al dente than your standard fair. We had cold and hot soba and the texture will be a bit softer on the hot due to the soup. I started with 100g of noodles but decided to add 100g more. I would start with 150g to start. If you never seen the Japanese style toilets the bathroom is worth checking out.

Awsome joint for hot summer day! I like how you can pick your portion of noodle(up to 300g). It doesn’t sound much but it is!!! I had«Cold soba & katsudon set» and it was awesome. Soba was amazing! The texture of noodle was awesome. Soba shouldn’t be chewy but need to have little bit of bite to it. And what they served me was just right! And Pork katsu on katsudon was thick and juicy. Awesome. Too bad I was by myself and didn’t get to taste other dishes. Highly recommended!

If you like soba, this is the place. Fresh noodle served along classic Japanese sides. Lunch specials are great bargains. IMHO, It is definitely comparable to Soba-ya in NYC. So if you like traditional Japanese soba, you won’t be disappointed.

Cute spot in Ft Lee! We had lunch there yesterday. I had the zaru soba with chirashi. Hubs tried the hot soba of the day. The noodles are nice and chewy. Just the type of texture that I like. Sashimi was fresh and rice was slightly marinated with vinegar. What’s cool about this place is you can have small medium or large serving of soba for the same price. I got the medium since I was starving and slumped every oodle of noodle! Think this will be in our post biking rotation from now on!

Fort Lee restaurant options are absolutely killing it as of late. Fresh, made to order soba noodles available in 1 to 3 portions, all for one flat price. They also have Udon option, on top of hot or cold soba. Menus are kind of confusing but once you realize it’s just the same exact menu sets twice(one for soba, one for udon), it makes more sense. Rice bowls are also quite good, much better than your other fort lee options. Will be back very often.

Extremely slow service. Waited 27 min for a couple bowls of soba, stood up and left. I have been here before, food is mediocre, nothing exceptional.

If you like phở or ramen, or any kind of asian noodle, I would highly recommend this place. I got the tempura shrimp hot soba noodle. The soup base is not as salty as ramen, and it’s refreshing for a chilly summer night. The environment is very modern and clean. The service is great – food took less than 10 minutes on a busy Sunday night. If you’re in town, make sure to stop by if you want to try something new!

Finally, a nice, inexpensive Japanese soba for those spring, summer days when you are craving for a light healthy meal! I have been here on several occasions after it opened a couple of years ago. Since then, I was sold on the idea of soba, being a healthy addition to the varieties here in Fort Lee. The layout of the restaurant is very casual: it has a combination of both high tables for a quick in-n-out and the soft seats for a laid-back meal. I always get the soba when I’m here, while I tend to mix up the broth and the meat every so often. My favorite is the duck breast! You rarely have to worry about portion control here — soba is served by the ounces(but you are first offered several standard increments). Being so close to my home, they have really become my go to spot for something healthy and pleasant.

This is like a typical soba-ya in Japan(only larger ;): Great hand-made soba, tasty broths, reasonable prices. The same fare in Manhattan is both hard to come by(most places do not make their own soba) and expensive.

Well fort lee never ceases to amaze me with random awesome finds! This soba bar was a welcome digression from endless ramen openings(read: setagaya across the street, menya sendamine, Blackbeard, etc). And it FAR surpasses the soba I’ve tried in NYC for a much nicer looking price tag. For the same price, you can get 100 to 300 g of soba. And you don’t have to commit to a huge portion at first, if you finish a smaller one you can just ask for more without having to pay more! What? Amazing! Their soba quality is really good, you can taste the difference from the store bought kind. It’s really refreshing all year round but particularly in the summer! They have a HUGE menu, no, make that 3 menus– one for soba, one for udon, and one for small dishes/Japanese tapas. This was actually kind of overwhelming, and I would have preferred to see them all in one menu with different sections. I think they waste a lot of space by laying out EVERYSINGLE slight variation of noodle dish when many of these options are basically the same thing with one or two details tweaked. It also makes ordering a lot more treacherous of an ordeal than it needs to be. And isn’t Japanese eating all about minimalism? Well, house keeping qualms aside, the food was near flawless. As I mentioned before digressing, great noods, and great fresh ingredients. Toppings on my mountain yam and seaweed soba could have been more generous in quantity but what was given was all good and really clean tasting. Don’t skip out on their tapas menu, all of the small dishes are dimsum-like prices($ 2.50-$ 3.75) and it’s really nice to order a few and try some flavors and textures other than just noodles. The cold tofu, fried chicken, and grilled squid stood out in particular.

Wide variety of options for soba and udon noodles. I got the udon soup with chicken and while it was tasty. I wish the chicken was left on the side because the outside was soggy from being in the soup. Perfect to satisfy noodle cravings.

Came here at 5PM on a Sunday, no wait for seating. I attribute that to our calculated decision to eat right between the lunch rush and dinner crowd(haha, right). Food: The last time I had soba noodles was at a little teeny weensy place in Manhattan named Cocoron. The soup and soba noodles were served separately and you as the diner were given the option to dunk or slurp per spoonful, a bite combining soup and soba noodles. Azuma did things differently, the soba noodles come right in the soup, and you are given the option to have them served hot or cold. More interestingly, they give patrons the choice to have their soba noodle serving size parsed in grams. Each soba order comes with 300 grams of noodles, for our first helping, we ordered 150 grams, and asked for a second serving of 100 grams. We added a ton of spices to the soup for additional flavoring. Soba noodles are supposedly healthy, a la, bland as a standalone. The chicken and the pork cutlet with curry were very tasteful, the servings are perfect complements to your soba noodle and soup. The appetizer of buttered corn was also really well. good and simple, and… well, wtf you expect me to say, it’s corn, it’s freaking wonderful. Pricing: This is probably one of the restaurant’s highlights, for $ 14.50 a person, you leave BLOATED. If you go for 300 grams of soba noodles with a full helping of pork cutlet and curry rice, you better beware, Sleep Coma will slap you so hard, you’re left wondering how you slept through Game of Thrones. Goddamnit, Jon Snow, get your shit together. I digress. 9⁄10 for Azuma. Will be back for sure.

I would give it a full five stars for service. They are so clean and so family friendly. High chairs and booster seats. They even added a diaper changing station in the bathroom. I love bringing my kids here because it’s good quality food and not greasy. But still taste delicious. Lost a star because I feel like their menu is still missing something. They have soba and lots of variations. So great. My fav is the duck dip soba noodles. They recently added a udon noodle and it’s great because my son LOVES udon. And so do most children. I would like to see them have more none fried items on the rice menu. And also more rolls on the appetizer menu. Not crazy fancy rolls. But just authentic simple rolls for kids. None the less I love the addition of this restaurant in fort lee. Authentic and friendly! And walking distance from my house. We come here almost once a week. Highly recommend.

Great option for soba both hot and cold. With winter still upon us, we have only tried the hot soba option. I love that the soba noodles come in 100g portions from small to large. You can start with the small(100g) and just ask for more if you need it. Small was perfect for me! Love not wasting food. I had the shrimp veggie ball to accompany my hot soba and it was light and crisp. The boy had a combo meal which included a side of sashimi. Our only problem was that the sashimi was straight from the fridge cold. It was remedied by eating the soba and tempura first while waiting for the sashimi to come to temp. Service was great and our tea and water never hit the halfway mark. Looking forward to trying more off their menu and keeping warm with their hot soba.

Japanese authenticity, Japanese quality, Japanese cleanness, Japanese price(hint: slightly cheaper than NYC, better value). This restaurant has the best cold soba noodles I have tried in the tri-state area. Been to Japan at least 6 times. I can say quality of food here is very close to what I had in Tokyo. We came twice already in the past two months. Its soba noodle is firm, chewy, subtle, and tasty but never too hard. Usually order set meals of cold soba + a tempura, roll, or something else. The meals had been excellent. I particularly like its raw squid with wasabi as appetizer. The standard serving size of soba is 200g here. An additional 100g refill is free. Get your soba cold. It is the traditionally way, and it would taste better.

Update Review(on a dish I ordered): Everything that I wrote previously, still applies. Service is still great, ambience is nice and the place is clean. My update is specifically on the dish I ordered today. I ordered the 鴨南(Sautéed duck soba). It’s under the Hot soba section. It was sooo good!!! I really enjoyed it, especially the broth(which is different from the regular hot soba broth). I think I liked it more than the zaru soba(cold soba), which I had last time. This was perfect for the cold weather too. This was the first time I went during lunch and they had a special lunch menu with different lunch special depending on the weekday with cut down pricing. We’ll be back!
