Pretty solid. Tasty. They pretty much have only the tofu dish and beef, but either/both are good. Think I tried the mushroom tofu dish. Yum. Employees work noticeably hard at this place.

Consistently great, tasty bbq and tofu soup — it has never failed me in all my years of going. But HOLYCOW the price of the korean BBQ has doubled!!! Every time I come back it gets more and more expensive. Not sure why or if they’re putting crack in it, but it will certainly keep me from coming back as often as I’d like :(

We stopped in fairly late in the evening for a quick bowl of tofu soup just before closing. I ordered the seafood soup. Within minutes we were served an array of small plates loaded with kimchi, seasoned cucumber, sprouts, etc. then came a bowl of rice followed by the soup, bubbling hot, and nicely seasoned(I ordered mine seasoned«hot.») The seafood was decent, head-on shrimp, small clams and a half dozen oysters. Serving size was substantial – had to take about half of mine home. For a tasty bowl of tofu soup at a decent casual place, even 30 minutes before closing time I recommend it. We even found a parking spot in the lot.

Love their tofu bowl with seafood and beef, the oyster tastes so fresh! Their bbq ribs(galbi) is also very flavorful, they also offer a new menu now and we ordered the fried dumplings which were great for an appetizer. My go to place to eat after shopping at Woodbury.

A pretty solid tofu soup place, conveniently located right in the middle of Fort Lee. They didn’t offer many dishes other than tofu soups — but trust me, the soup selection was definitely extensive. We have a large group, so aside from the tofu soup, we shared a plate of fried dumplings(absolutely pass, very bland and greasy) and grilled kalbi. I’m not gonna break the rule so strongly recommend the soup(spicy food lovers please tune your spiciness at least one level up). Tofu was so soft that it literally melt! Paying cash there’s 7% discount.

It is not hard to pin down what makes this place great. The menu only has two items: Soondubu and Kalbi. But don’t mind the simplicity, I have yet to find a better Soondubu on the East Coast. The tofu is tender and silky smooth. The soup thoroughly absorbs the flavors of tofu and meat. Here, Soondubu is served right from the stove, still sizzling as it arrives so the egg is never undercooked. I first ate here more than 10 years ago when my family moved to Fort Lee. A ton has happened between now and then, but very little has changed about this place. Even as more restaurants began opening in Fort Lee, this is still the only restaurant that I would recommend to my friends whenever they visit.

My favorite tofu soup shop ever! They only offer beef kalbi BBQ and all sorts of tofu soup here. But thats all I need for a perfect meal. The tofu is silky, soft and flavorful(light sweetness from fresh soy beans). Many levels of spiceness are available for the soup. I also love their rice! It is shiny, full and round, chewy and sweet — definitely adding points to this seemingly simple dish. The beef kalbi is another highlight — well marinated kalbi is delicious. It’s still sizzling in a hot stone pan when served to the table. Staffs are very friendly too! They kept refilling the complimentary appetizers every time I visited.

As soon as you sit down, not even having looked at the menu, waitress was there. I guess b/c there are a lot of regulars who already know what they want. Having not been here in a long while, I had to take a look at the menu. There isn’t a whole lot to order from but you should already know this coming in. I had the beef tofu soul and my friend had the seafood & beef tofu soup. We also ordered Korean bbq. I’m not a huge tofu fan but mix it in a spicy broth with some bits of beef, it’s a nice filling meal. And who doesn’t Ike Korean BBQ?! The food comes out fast so that’s also a plus if you’re hungry!

The food here is great. Their main dishes — BBQ and tofu soups — never fail to impress. I recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area.

We came here at 3pm and thankfully there’s no line. First: Free parking is limited but there is a sign on the door with parking suggestion. Parking cost can be reimbursed only if you go to their specific lot and bring a receipt.(specific lot is on the sign at the door) Prices has go up a lot since I last visited(back in 2010) The BBQ ribs is now $ 21 and a tofu stew is $ 10.95. I could have sworn the BBQ ribs uses to be charcoal grill but I guess this current method is healthier? Tip: Bring cash for a 7% discount. Otherwise, credit card is accepted as well.

They start to offer new dishes– yook gae jang, dumplings, and dumpling tofu soup. Idk if I’ll try them because I always order seafood mushroom, always!

I was expecting more based on the reviews but all in all it was pretty good. We ordered a few platters of the ribs which were very flavorful but not as tender as I would have hoped with a few having a bit too much gristle. I went with the oyster soup which had only four or so oysters but had a pretty good flavor. I really enjoyed the pickled condiments that they brought out, especially the cucumbers which were sour, spicy and salty. Service was good and prices are reasonable(discount for cash).

They do one thing here… The Koreans call it Soondubu. I call it Heaven. A crock arrives with broth hotter than magma. This miniature cauldron hits the table bubbling like a science project. They give you a raw egg, which they expect you to crack open yourself like some shmuck. and plop it in this, the devils own miniature hot-tub, to cook right before your eyes. They bring an endless barrage of side dishes that they keep calling Ban-chan. spicy pickles, sesame sprouts, kimchi cabbage and broccoli florets… i eat them as fast as i can trying to see if i can finish all four before they can refill them. to no avail… my belly swells with fermenting vegetables and those little dishes are refilled faster than you can say Samsung. The parking lot is a mess… but they have an attendant there to make sure that creative drivers do not bang up your ride.

Loyal fan of So Kong Dong for years! My family and I love So Kong Dong’s awesome soondubu. It’s our go-to whenever we’re in Fort Lee area if we’re not eating at Mitsuwa. There is always a long wait, and for good reason! Parking can be very difficult as the lot is very small. You get there and put your name down. The host will also take down your order before you’re seated, so once you’re seated the food comes right away! This is super efficient and necessary considering how popular they are. The menu is very short: about 8 different soondobu options; kalbi and seafood pancake. I love restaurants like this because you know they’re specialized in that one dish and it’s going to be great! I used to live in Philly and they have a similar location there with the same menu and décor. I was told that it’s a family-owned chain with another outpost in Boston. Can anyone confirm this?

*pork tofu soup(I got this soup medium spicy which was enough; I liked the tofu texture, it was thicker so held up well in the soup; the pork was cut thinly and chopped into smaller pieces so it was well dispersed throughout the soup; this tofu soup is quite comforting and is great on a cold evening) *pork ribs(omg!!! LOVED this!!! the flavoring is so perfect; sweet and salty and the small amount of fat on the ribs gave it another dimension of flavor as well; I could have honestly just eaten this and rice all night and forgotten about the tofu soup haha) This restaurant is small but seats a lot of people. It’s quite efficient with their service. Quality of the food is good. Liked the small kimchi and veggie plates too, especially the cucumbers and broccoli. The menu is limited to different tofu soups and the ribs. I think the limited menu is great because you know it’s their specialty and they must be pretty good at it. The parking sucks for this place, so if anything just park on a side street and just walk there. I’d go back, especially on a cold winter day.

Still the best tofu place worth driving to. They’ve really commercialized. The waitress do no wear the traditional Korean gear.

Okay, my fault for not checking their menu before I sat down. But still. I really wanted to like this place! This was one of the few times Unilocal let me down. Very limited menu — you can have tofu soup($ 10+) or Korean BBQ ribs. I had the seafood tofu soup. I thought it was kind of bland and there were only a few pieces of seafood in there. Service was good and the people working there were kind, so I gave two stars. However, I wasn’t crazy about this place so I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

SKD has definitely became my go-to place for soondubu. I took a «mental health day» off this week and decided to give SKD a try. I heard it gets crowded+long line on the weekends. Anyhow, I came around 11(woke up too late for breakfast), and this place was empty! We were quickly served cold barley tea. There are only few kinds of soondubu and ribs on the menu, so for indecisive people like me it’s pretty easy. I ordered hot kimchi soondubu. Banchan spread were pickled cucumber, kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and seasoned broccoli. The kimchi soondubu was awesome! Rice is served on a hot stone bowl and the server poured hot tea once she was done serving our rice. I even asked for extra rice because one serving is just never enough for my soondubu, and I don’t think they charged the extra rice.

This restaurant is known for their soondubu(soft tofu soup a popular Korean dish) and that’s all they have on the menu. It doesn’t matter which soodunu you get, they are all one price at($ 1095.) Oh, and one more thing, they also have Korean BBQ Ribs($ 21.95). There is parking right in front of the restaurant, which is a plus. I came with a big group and we had to wait for a table, but it didn’t take that long for a table to free up, since their service is really fast. While we waited they actually took down our order and when we sat down it was served within minutes. Everyone got some sort of cold tea and each side of the table got 4 ban chans(free side dishes that Korean restaurants serve), plus raw eggs to crack into your soondubu. I had the seafood, beef tofu soup with clam, shrimp, oyster, and beef and you can choose you level of spiciness. I really like the soondubu here, but I don’t know if I would go out of my way just for it. I think NYC is equally good. We also shared the Korean BBQ Ribs. The portion is quite large and the meat is well flavored and tender. Loved it. Definitely worth trying out if you’re in the area.

Wow, this is my 100th review!!! Should I really have to write some negative review on my 100th post? Well. why not. This place used to be my favorite place in Fort Lee, but sadlynot anymore. The food is getting more and more expensive, the BBQ rib used to be $ 15 in 2010, but now it is $ 21, which is 40% price increase! It is outrageous! It’s too bad I really like the BBQ ribs I used to order 1 for myself, but the price of $ 21 is too steep that I no longer order it while I am eating alone. The tofu soup used to be $ 9, and it is $ 10 now, which is OK, however, I discovered they charged you $ 1(without telling you in advance) if you order 2 mixed ingredients in your soup. I have been ordering beef and oyster tofu soup since 2010 without any problem or extra charge, and tonight I was very surprised to see there is $ 1 extra charge on my bill. I will be gladly to pay if they let us know while we placed order. I just don’t think it’s right to bill customer without advance acknowledgement. Also, the amount of beef and oyster I had in my soup was not much, I really don’t think it worth that $ 1 to be honest. If you are parking at the municipal parking(where it is currently located next to Santorini restaurant), I would say put in 50 cents for 1 hour is pretty enough, just because those waiters and waitress will keep coming to rush you and rush you to leave, they want a quick turnover so you won’t be stay in there for a long time.
