Royal Carribean International – Enchantment of the Seas

Best vacation in a long time. Best deal. 3 days and 3 nights on the Enchantment for 400 per person. It’s a 5 star resort lodging, dining, and spa unmatched for the price.

It was a perfect weekend getaway for us on this ship. Everything was spectacular.

I did a extended family getaway for the weekend. The crew was extremely friendly, just not very knowledgeable. I bought a drink package and spent most of my time at the service desk. The crew in several places told me that the drink I ordered wasn’t included so I had to carry the piece of paper around with me so I could get what I ordered. The cabins and ship where not very clean. A member of my party found a pair of underwear in their bed before they went to bed. My cabin was so dusty I spent most of my time sneezing. the hallway always smelled of sewage and was littered with discarded food tray. The food was terrible most of the time.

We had a wonderful relaxing cruise aboard the Enchantment of the Seas.

Worst company ever stay away, On the phone with Royal Caribbean International and they are charging me $ 400 more then the prices they have online, they are not willing to credit or give me on board credit the difference that they are providing all customers online. last time i will ever think of this company again.

I don’t have the heart to give 2 stars but I wanted to.
I did a quick weekend getaway on the Enchantment and had very low expectations, knowing it’s a seriously old ship. I’ve been on several RCCL ships of varying ages, and this was probably the worst condition of a ship I’ve been on.
The ship’s layout was great. The size of the cabin (interior) was more than I expected. Meals in the dining room were fantastic. Dining room staff were great. I enjoyed the mostly geriatric passenger population. Old people are great, I wish old ships were too.
Food in the buffet was neither hot nor tasty. I sat at lunch one day and watched two crew members chatting away as one was «sweeping» up the floor. He may have gotten dust into the bin, but he missed all the dropped fries and larger pieces of food. First time I’ve witnessed crew members carrying on a personal conversation in the midst of passengers eating. Usually, there is a lot more discretion when talking about crew activities or unrest.
Entertainment was blah. The Spa experience was from the 1980s at best. Bar service improved after I stuck with two bars and tipped extra (above the auto gratuity) with every other drink.
The kicker for me though was that the cabin was just basically dirty and the bathroom smelled strongly of mildew. How about some bleach RCCL? There was a short, curly hair in the sink one morning (ick). In between the cabin shelves, there was some gunk that I can only surmise was a couple of years of general filth that people leave behind — food remnants I guess. I don’t want to imagine worse.
We didn’t sink or anything and the sailing was smooth, so there’s that. I likely will stick with bigger, newer, non RCCL ships though for the foreseeable future. Or I’ll just stay on land.

The Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas was such a memorable cruise for our family. The food was gourmet, the entertainment was off the charts, and the overall hospitality was amazing! When I think of the best table service I’ve ever experienced, my mind goes back to the four course meals & five star service on the cruise!

I took my first cruise with Royal Caribbean 02÷04÷13 on Enchantment of the Seas. Our ship left Baltimore, Maryland on a 12-​Night Southern Caribbean Cruise and made the following ports of call: Labadee, Haiti; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. John’s, Antigua; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and returned to Baltimore, Maryland. I had an amazing time!
I never thought I would like cruising. But I loved it. Even though 90% of the other guests were 90 years old (exaggeration), I still loved it. A 12-​day long cruise in February will draw a large number of seniors. Hey, they have both the time and money to cruise. But trust me, they like to have fun, too. Dancing in the Centrum Lounge was a blast. Trivia was hilar. And the Belly Flop contest? OMG!!!
I could basically eat 18 hours a day (see food pics). Or drink 18 hours a day. Or be in the pool or hot tub 24 hours a day. Or be in the sun when it was out. I had a great time. I did not get seasick. I did not get thrown overboard. Our ship did not break down. And I did not catch the flu or norovirus.
Now speaking of sun, I know now to apply sunscreen liberally and frequently. The prune look ain’t cute… at all. Neither is the «I can still rock a 2-​piece at 70» look. Fortunately, there is a world class gym and a jogging track on board to work off some of that food you are constantly eating. On board wifi is $ 0.65/min so I strongly advise you to power down and relax while you’re cruising unless you have bux deluxe to blow like that. I don’t and as for me, I dam near went crazy. But San Juan and St. Thomas are the US so you can probably log on there… if you must. I know I couldn’t WAIT to check in on Unilocal there.
Oh and the shore excursions? So much fun. We went to six different islands and aside from shopping, I have at least one husband on each island I visited. But I gave them all the wrong phone number. LOL!
I cannot wait to take my next cruise with Royal Caribbean!

I completely agree with Neslon. I just got back from Royal Carribean, Navigator of the Seas and it was great. Went to Haiti and Jamaica. No complaints at all. They clean your room twice a day, excellent food and great CSR. I have no idea how there vegetables stayed fresh and crunchy! They know what the’re doing. They have anything and everything from 2 year olds to 90 year old entertainment. It’s impossible to be bored. You can have a full day of activities or just lounge by the pool. What ever you taste buds are, it’s as good as it gets!

I just got back from a cruise with Royal Carribean and it was so much fun. We sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas and it was very nice. The service on all levels was just impeccable. I have nothing bad to say about my trip. I have sailed with RCI before and sailing with them again just further cements my loyalty with them. It’s hard to think about sailing with a different cruise line when I have had such great service and time. The food was plentiful, the dinner entrees were very good. I think sometimes the steaks were a little overcooked but still good. Again, the service was just tremendously excellent. The servers take good care of the guests and it’s easy to get to know them and have fun with them. The room attendant was very nice and helpful. It is so cute how they make towel animal when they turndown your room at night. There is always something going on in the ship to keep you busy and entertained so if you’re bored, it’s because you’re boring. They have shows, comedians, bars, couple lounges, art gallery and auctions (fine art included, they had Picassos, Rembrandts, etc), casino, pools, the list goes on.
On this trip, we stopped in Ochos Rios in Jamaica then Georgetown in Grand Cayman. As we were driving through on the tour bus in Jamaica, the place is very dirty with garbage everywhere, very sad to see since it is such a beautiful country. We did a tour of a plantation, it was interesting but could be boring if you had not so good tour guides. After that, we climbed the Dunn River Falls and that was such a cool experience. We went to Grand Cayman the next day and there some shopping to be done. Must check out the Bernard Passman shop, made really cool jewelry from black coral.
Royal Carribean’s tends to have an older age set that cruises with them so if you are in your 20’s, there are not too many people of our age, but you can still have an awesome time. The shows they put on are awesome, the comedian are funny and don’t pass up on the ventriloquist, he is just as funny. This is a very good cruise line to cruise with so you should definitely check it out!
