I would give it 5 stars if it was not so pricey. $ 5 – 6 for an ice cream cone is alot! But, the ice cream was to die for!

Pretty good ice cream. Better than some, but not super high end. Soft and flavorful. A bit expensive for what you get, but this is the beach. Nice décor — lots of wood.

I tried Kilwin’s ice cream for the first time last night, and the s’mores flavor was sooo good! I highly recommend it. The waffle cone was delicious too, except the very bottom tasted stale. They were very busy for a Monday night to the extent the line went to the door(but it is spring break), and the guys behind the counter had no patience. I’d give the place 5 stars if the customer service had been better.

I’m giving 5 stars solely for the AMAZING waffle cone! The waffle cone has a cinnamon taste to it and you can definitely tell its homemade. The ice cream was pretty good but nothing to write home about. You must get a waffle cone when you go!

Best ice cream and chocolates in Lauderdale by the sea. I am a local and have tried all the desert choices. This one is the best! However, you might have to fight a crowd!

I am not a huge fan of their ice cream — although I do visit often for their chocolate covered strawberries. The chocolate is really good but the strawberries tend to be hit or miss. Sometimes they are large and ripe and other times they are either too small or mushy inside — almost as if they were previously frozen. I very much prefer the chocolate covered strawberries at Godiva but those are much more expensive and further away.

Please support this business! We vacation in Fort Lauderdale annually and Kilwins is what i look forward to the most. The toasted almond ice cream in particular is the best ice cream I’ve ever had, and if you knew how much ice cream I’ve consumed in my 34 years of life, you’d appreciate that comment. Friendly employees, delicious treats, top notch business!

You can smell this old store spot from a mile away! A must and go-to if you are walking Las Olas or have kids. Everything including the cones and fudge is homemade and they do the classic items just like you remember from being a kid. Cant go wrong!

A little over hyped. Touristy area, therefore touristy prices. Good chocolate but very over priced. Ice cream average, needs to be harder, melts to fast and is served in a soft consistency– bad.

All I’m gonna say is TOASTEDCOCONUT ice cream on a sugar cone… I found myself licking it in a manner that’s not up for discussion!(drops mic & walks off stage) Sunny

I would like to start out by saying that I have rated this location five stars not just because of the fudge(although delicious) but because of a delightful young lady by the name of Monique. My partner and I took a stroll after brunch on the beach and happened into Kilwin’s. Upon entering we were greeted by this most effervescent young lady who proceeded to offer us a tasting of fudge. Throughout our interaction she maintained one of the most pleasant demeanors, engaging us in conversations ranging from how we were enjoying our day to how fudge is made, how to care for it and at what temperature it would melt in an attempt allay concerns of it melting on the beach or in the hot car during the drive home. Of course the fudge is delicious as is the candy and ice cream but nothing would compel me to come back to this location as much as this delightful young lady

Kilwins, a franchise operation based out of Michigan founded in 1947, has had a longstanding popular outlet in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It attracts a good crowd not only during our«on season,» but also during the Florida«off season,» especially on leisurely Sundays afternoons. One of the keys to their popularity is the fact that as a candy confectionary most items are hand crafted fresh, made on location, not shipped in and you can watch them doing it. They have all sorts of chocolates, fudges, brittles and so forth but what I come here for are their original recipe ice creams, especially their small dish original recipe chocolate which is in fact pretty good in size for purportedly being«small dish.» It’s one of the best of the chocolate ice creams, rich, smooth and full flavor I’ve found, but I’ve also tried a few of the others such a an apple pie. They certainly have plenty of choices, somewhere around 80, to choose from. The thing that really sets Kilwins apart from your typical outlet is the atmosphere of the place as you can’t help but get some home town family oriented feeling about the place, and nothing can be better than enjoying one of their ice creams while seated on a bench or at a table along the newly redeveloped wide sidewalks of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea with the smells and sounds of the nearby ocean.

I can’t think of a reason to give less than five stars. A place that is dangerous for those with little will power or restraint! Good variety of flavors and international chocolate sauces. Fun to sit outside and watch the action on Commercial Ave while enjoying a treat.

If I had to choose one dessert place to eat at for the rest of my life, it’d be Kilwin’s. I mean let’s get real… they give you fudge when you walk in. Awesome flavors… large portions… Did I mention fudge?.. I usually end up getting the cake batter or mint chocolate chip. However, I don’t discriminate. I love all flavors here equally. And when it comes to the cone… «Give me waffles or give me death.» No negotiations and no «cups» of ice cream here.

This place is brilliant. When you first walk in, there are so many different yummy treats to look at. My friends and I came in here primarily for the ice cream, but we ended up leaving with some extra desserts. The fudge is on the left and is definitely worth trying. If you buy 2 slices, you get a 3rd free, which is a win! I ended up buying a slice of the turtle fudge. I really wanted to buy one of everything. My next stop was the ice cream, which I absolutely love. They have a sea salt caramel ice cream that is just enough sweet, but not too sweet. However, I went with my favorite, which is the mint chocolate chip ice cream. I only ordered a single scoop on a sugar cone, but this is more than enough for one person. The service is so great here. Everyone is really friendly and helpful when it comes to making a decision on what to order. There are benches out front for you to sit outside and enjoy people watching. Compared to the other ice cream shops in the area, the prices are less expensive and good for the quality that you are getting.

My favorite ice cream place in South Florida! I am in love with their fudge and of course their ice cream is to die for. I’m obsessed with their Kilwin’s Tracks ice cream in their fresh waffle cones. I especially love this location because it is only a block from the beach!

Delicious ice cream always…$ 20 for to sundaes is a little much but it was worth it. Maybe next time I’ll get a carton from the market and save $ 8 bucks. Deliciosa crema de hielo siempre … $ 20 para que los helados es un poco mucho, pero valió la pena. Quizá la próxima vez voy a conseguir una caja de cartón en el mercado y ahorrar $ 8 dólares.
