Stayed here for 3 nights over New Years 2016. Very disappointing hotel. The room itself was a nice size but quite filthy. The bed frame in our room was literally broken and they seem to be using straw or something for the mattress. The AC unit in our room and pretty much every room in the hotel leaks badly causing the walkways in front of the rooms to be flooded with water. This is causing major safety issues if someone slips. The room was loud due to the all night Tiki bar party going on downstairs. Ordered room service and they made me pick it up downstairs at the restaurant, would not deliver to our room. The food was gross. The location itself isn’t that bad or that great as your basically across the street from the Ocean but it is a private not public beach. I gave this place 2 stars because I have seen worse but not by much.

This is a two star hotel; elevator worked sometimes, you didn’t know if you were on the floor or not, had to manually open the doors. Cable didn’t work at night. Plug by the bathroom falling off. If you have a big car forget about trying to park in back, my car barely could round the corner.

This place is excellent for budget travelers. * 5-minute walk from the beach — and a really nice, uncrowded beach it is * Rooms are spacious and clean * The AC is excellent and not overpoweringly loud(like so many budget hotels in FL) * The shower is powerful * It’s quiet in the room. I have to add — we are here during on weekdays when the Tiki bar area is relatively inactive. Worth getting a review of this place on the weekend. We asked for a room far from the Tiki Bar(which is in the middle of the complex, and all the rooms face out toward it), and they accommodated easily. But we are so far away, we might not hear noise even on a weekend.(room 321) * The room lighting is EXCELLENT! I can SEE in my room — which is getting rarer and rare, even in high-end hotels. The continental breakfast is very limited, but they also offer a cooked breakfast for $ 9 if you wish. There are tons of eating options within a 5 minute drive, so you won’t go hungry. I think budget travellers will be pleasantly surprised by this place. We sure were.

A solid hotel near Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, if aged. After booking our accommodations on Hotwire, we researched the hotel we received and were somewhat worried. The parking lot was right on the street, and the rooms had exterior-facing doors like a motel. Moreover, when we walked in to check in, we noticed that they seemed to still be using paper for much of their records, including credit card charging. That meant that they actually fully charged me for the deposit and then refunded me, rather than never fully charging it.(To be fair, they processed the deposit and the refund on the same day, so it ended up being fine.) However, they did honor our call-in request for a king room(you never know with Hotwire bookings), and when we walked into our room, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was decorated in a kitschy beachside way, and there was a full kitchen(with a normal-sized refrigerator, sink, oven, and microwave) and a cute café table with stools. When we went to the beach, they offered complimentary beach towels for us to use. We missed breakfast, but they offered free vouchers for a light breakfast. Happy hour at the Tiki Bar was a fun and relaxing way to end the day. The location isn’t spectacular, as it isn’t particularly close to anything(half a mile from grocery/pharmacy), but you are right across the street from the beach. If you want to head down to the main Fort Lauderdale Beach, take the 11 bus south for about 18 minutes. Next time we’re in Fort Lauderdale, we might try something a little closer to downtown, but we would definitely consider this hotel again!
