When first I walked into Back to Health, it was mainly to satisfy my health insurance requirement. My doctor told me that my MRI showed multiple herniations and that physical therapy would have little effect to correct my situation. He also said surgery was most likely in my future. I was not feeling very hopeful when I started my first session with Bill Rodowsky. However, the first thing I remember Bill telling me during our first session was that, «you are not your MRI.» As crazy as that might sound it gave me the opportunity to let go of what I was up against and something new to work towards. He wasn’t denying the fact that I had herniations. He was informing me that there was so much I could do structurally to alleviate the problems that were causing my pain. Over the next few weeks I changed a lot of my poor behaviors as well as strengthening my body to alleviate almost all of my pain. I am so grateful to Back to Health and Bill for giving me the tools I needed to create the health I wanted.

Great yoga session by Bill. I’m a novice and Bill was very encouraging and instructive. After describing how to get to a pose and holding it for a while he’d say something like, «don’t hunch your shoulders on this» or «Now if this is comfortable and you want to take it further clean your leg over to the side. If not hold where you are.» I’ve been to other instructors who made me feel as if I’m posing wrong because they’re so corrective. Bill’s tips are the opposite, he guide you in to the pros and then tells you how to make adjustments if you want.

I have attended many therapeutic yoga classes at Back to Health led by Bill R. If you have any physical issues that might preclude attending regular yoga classes, this is the place for you. Bill is a super caring, super knowledgeable PTA and is certified in therapeutic yoga. He will customize any poses for your needs and he leads really fun energizing classes. Bill R is the best, and I highly recommend Back to Health for the yoga as well as the fantastic physical therapy. Remember, as Bill R. says, yoga breathing is the most important part of yoga and wee all can practice that!

I have been a client here for years. I have some back issues and the staff here is always ready to help. Wether it’s a massage, therapy, or learning new strengthening exercise and stretching, they always put me back together ! I highly recommend Back to Health.
