This is a grocery store, but it may be a little different than what you are used to. What they don’t have are: 1) 30 varieties of apples 2) duct tape, ice chests, motor oil and 12-pack energy drinks 3) giant, aisle-blocking kiddie carts where your entire litter can sit while you peruse the $ 12 dollar box of artisanal pasta. What they DO have is lots of things you can’t find anywhere else. Kale, Burrata and Prosciutto pizza. Watermelon juice. Spicy Buffalo jerky. They also have lots of building block items if you want to cook for yourself, or pre-packaged items for every phase of a meal(Salad, Appetizer, Main Course, Dessert, Drinks). The service is the best in town — people love to work here. And I always leave feeling like I actually got some food for my $ 100(I went to Whole Foods once and bought $ 100 worth of groceries, only to have a seagull snatch it from me in the parking lot). The olive oil and coffee savings alone are worth making a trip.

This TJ is on a smaller side, but so happy that they are finally here in FoCo! Being from where TJ all started in SB, I’m just happy that we have them here! Try the French Toast in the frozen isle, oh em gee. It’s amazing! Their fresh OJ is amazing too! Better yet, freaking go to the alcohol section, cheap vino everywhere! They may be cheap, but are good! Cheers! Oh, I’m not sure if this store has an alcohol side, the one in Denver sure does. ;-)

Why is it that every time I come here simply for a free coffee sample, I leave with $ 150 worth of groceries? TJ’s is a guilty pleasure of mine. It’s almost as far as you can get from a local business and they don’t even really source any of their food locally, but most of their products are novel and delicious. My wife once comapared prices of 20 staple items from several grocery stores(TJ’s, Whole Paycheck, Safeway, and King Sooper’s) and found that TJ’s was actually the least expensive. Many things they sell, a tiny $ 4 bag of croutons for instance, are somewhat expensive, but overall food is pretty affordable. If I have beef with any of their products, it’s that most fruits and veggies, especially organic, are packaged and sold in bulk. Not only is this inconvenient if you only want one or two tomatoes, but as soon as just one thing in the package gets moldy, they dispose of the entire thing. If you ever get a chance, you should watch the documentary«Dive!»

Nice TJ’s store! Spacious, well stocked, lots of helpful, friendly staff. Same great TJ products I love.

Choice selections of unusual items that bring you back for more. But, If you like Apple pie go elsewhere, unless you like soggy cardboard. I enjoy fresh flowers, but theirs died before I got them home. Very disappointing. The same with fresh produce that is far from fresh. Otherwise I will stick to some items that I can’t find elsewhere… be selective and avoid disappointment.

As this being my first visit to this store, its good to see that a low cost leader in organic and natural grocery sales has arrived in the fort collins area. This store was clean and the employees were friendly and smiling. One of the many secrets as to traders joes success with low prices is that they sell mainly their own brand of food and other items. Gotta love the bananas for only 19 cents each!

Ugh I love this place so much. Employees are helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Assortment of healthy foods is awesome. Yes, it’s like Whole Foods — except there’s no pretentious air and it’s not stupid expensive.

I am from Southern California and am SO happy there is a Trader Joes here now. The staff at this location are amazing and so sweet to my kiddos, giving them stickers and a sucker and they love those cute little carts. Thanks from bringing my favorite store to Fort Collins and making shopping easier for me by being so kid friendly!!!

If you’re hating on Trader Joe’s, lemme guess – the Fort Collins location is the first one you’ve ever been in.

Was not impressed whatsoever. What a weird way to organize a grocery store. I was never greeted by anyone nor was my presence acknowledged. I went in for a few items, looked around a bit and left without buying anything. Not my kind of store I guess.

Still love the store and staff, but the funniest thing happened. I mentioned Kevin, store manager in my original post: My wife and I shopped the store again today. Filled our cart with goodies, galore. Came face to face with the sullen yet serious Kevin by the fruit and he looked directly at me(a few feet from me) and I smiled with a greeting nod… Nothing. He did not even smile. Maybe Kevin has become so busy running a store that he has forgotten why it is there…

Trader Joe’s is one of those fine establishments that Ft. Collins has been waiting for, for decades. While other cities in the State have one, it makes a huge difference when there is a TJ’s in your backyard. This means that you can take advantage of all of the fine produce, flowers, and frozen goods. Trader Joe’s is unique in that almost everything they sell comes from their own brand and distribution center. This means they control the quality and the final product almost every step of the way. They specialize is wholesome and healthy products. While they are also very famous for their snacks and not so healthy items, you can feel good knowing the items contain all natural ingredients. This means you won’t find trans fats, msg, and other non essential and unhealthy food additives. The food offered here is tasty and of great quality. This is not just another health food store or grocery store. They have unique options from Red Thai Curry to chicken maple sausages. The staff is friendly and they have a fun way of spreading aloha. There are plenty of items with which to plan meals around and to try new flavor. The store itself is. It huge but they have a solid selection of items. The prices are reasonable and you will spend far less here for quality items you’d pay way more for at other stores.

I grew up on Trader Joe’s in California and I’m so glad to have it back in my life. I’ve been eating their food for a week straight now and I feel so much better and full of energy! Very reasonably priced, delicious, and excellent for you. I went. Little overboard on my shopping because they have some AMAZING things and I still didn’t spend any more than I would have at King Soopers. Wonderful wonderful. Gluten-free friendly as well!

Oh, Trader Joe’s, I don’t mean to embarrass you but I just need to tell everyone how happy I am to have you back in my life. I hope you will forgive my infidelity — while you were so far away I have dabbled with that other specialty grocery store, the arrogant Texan bent upon taking my whole paycheck, but I promise to be true to you now that you have taken up residence in FoCo. So if you’re wondering what the big deal with Trader Joe’s is, well, I would say it is all about their house brands. You can get great products at ridiculously low prices. I ventured over during the opening weekend madness to stock up on things like their lemon pepper paparadelle, sea salt caramels, peanut butter pretzels, and yes, a jar of cookie butter. Their frozen food section(and now my freezer) is stocked with a wonderful variety of prepared foods … I am especially happy about the Indian and Asian selections. They have beautiful fresh produce, an impressive cheese selection, a lovely variety of seafood, high quality meats, amazing dips and salsas and spreads, an extensive selection of grab-n-go meals, gorgeous fresh flowers … and I’m sure the list goes on(the store was a bit too crowded for a complete look-see), and everything at a fraction of the price you’d pay elsewhere. Yep, I’m definitely breaking up with WF.

So far they are super busy, small, and great produce prices. They sell a lot of specialty items. Do your homework and you can find some great deals. For now they are bagging worth reusable shopping bags for free.
