Tonight is The first Friday Art walk in Fort Collins. I went into The Fine Art and Frame Company as my first stop. I’m young professional, and in this college town often mistaken as a college student, which I feel should be beside the point in the way I’m treated. There was a woman handing out tickets for a free glass of wine. As I walked in she offered online ticket to everybody but me looked me in the eye and and move to a different part of the room. I looked around, and the entire time was made to feel uncomfortable, as though I didn’t belong there. It’s really a shame because I’ve been looking forward to doing this first Friday Art walk for a long time and for this to be my first experience of it was truly disheartening. I will not frequent this establishment ever again.
