Renewal by Andersen

I never fill out these online evaluations but I am so frustrated and disappointed with my recent interactions with this company that I have been compelled to write this review. We installed 7 windows in August with Andersen in Fort Collins with the intent to install 5 more at a price that had been guaranteed to us for one year by our initial salesperson. When I called a week ago to arrange the next installation, i was told the company had been reorganized and they would need to send out a new salesperson to give us a new bid – with the implication that we may get a lower price. In fact then the sales person arrived, she informed us the company had been sold, the former owner had decided to retire and was living on a sailboat in the virgin islands, and the company could no longer honor the quote we had been given in June. Our records had apparently been purged from their computer system as they couldn’t find us in their files despite the fact we had spent over $ 13 000 with them 3 months ago. The new quote was nearly double the old quote and the sales person more or less told us to go to Home Depot if we were not happy with the price. I can’t remember ever having this kind of experience with another company and would not recommend them to anyone.

I called this company to schedule an estimate to have the windows in my home replaced. They said in order to schedule the estimate both spouses had to be home. I told them my husband is a pilot and there is not a time I can guarantee him to be home. Because there is no guarantee he would be there, they told me unfortunately they could not schedule the estimate! What?! Makes absolutely no sense to me! Should have just told them I was single…

I had a leak in one of my windows in a recent rainstorm. I stopped by the Andersen tent at NewWestFest in Fort Collins to ask what I should do. The person who spoke with me (who signed his name Derek B) talked me into scheduling a free visit in which I would be told the problem with the window and Andersen’s price for fixing it. He told me I could choose one of three times for ANY day — a morning, midday (12 or so?), and evening (6pm) time for any day of the week for my appointment. I picked Sunday at 6pm, and verified that an appointment on a Sunday evening would happen, because it seemed unusual. He assured me IT WOULD and that they were available at that time.
They never came. I called, left a detailed message… and now, three days later, I have not heard back yet on being stood up for my appointment.
So, Andersen, if you check these reviews… how about a reply? A callback? ‘Cause as of right now, I’m NOT impressed.
