This is a martial artist’s martial arts academy. Perfect balance between technical toughness and a respectful, laid back, family-friendly atmosphere. I have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for five years and have trained at over 50 academies in three continents, this is the real deal. You owe it to yourself to check this place out.

I just recently started MMA and I’m glad this was not the first gym I went to. If it had been it probably would have been the beginning and end of my MMA interest. The instructor made me feel discouraged and made me feel like this isn’t the sport for me. I felt like the whole class was just a show for him to show off his skills and show everyone how much better he was than us. I’ve been to other gyms where they make you feel welcome and are sincere about wanting to help me improve. This is the closest MMA gym to my house but I’m more than happy to travel further to actually learn the sport and not be treated like an inconvenience.

What can I say about this gym. So, I’ll start off by saying they make you keep your shoes outside… yes, outside while it was 20 degrees and snowing. I’ve been to numerous MMA gyms and have yet to be disappointed. The instructor did not have us warm up whatsoever and went straight into thai kicks, keep in mind everyone had just came in from it being 20 degrees outside. Thank God I knew better and went into kicks slow and avoided injury. The instructor paired me up with a 12 year old kid after I had told him I had experience. it was this kids second day so you can imagine the workout I had. I felt like I should have been getting paid as an instructor and when I asked him to be paired up with someone a little more advanced his response was«what do you mean?». I heard the lady next to me tell the instructor«I feel like my knee is going to give out» his response was«you’ll get used to it». I’m no expert but I think that the lack of warm up and lack of technique that was taught had alot to do with it. They played rap songs that were UNEDITED! One of the songs was(ONLY) by drake, lill wayne and nicki manaj. Look it up! It is one of the most inappropriate songs I’ve ever heard!(I counted 4 children in class) I feel like I actually lost some skill coming to this gym. They offered 2 free classes. I used one and these guys would have to pay me to come back for the second class!
