OK, I“m updating this review. Two things: First, DFACs change over time. Kitty Hawk got substantially better. And second, of course they closed it. Oh, Kitty, what can I say. I’ll never go to bat for your dinners which were always fried slabs of something. But you had a self serve sides bar that really let a guy fill up on carrots or broccoli or some such thing. Your salad bar was as limited as they come but your hours… oh lord, your hours couldn’t be beat. you were open early and you stayed open late. For those working long days, you were the best. Your staff couldn’t give a G-D about giving out seconds if you were looking hungry. Lastly, you had the best all-around lunch on base. In spite of your flaws, you’ll be missed. Small. Décor that makes you feel like you’re in a half-finished model home. Standard crappy military food. …this place has it all. Sure, it SOUNDS like a standard dining facility — but the coup de grace? or coups rather? 1. there’s no milk machine here. little pint boxes in the fridges, yes, but no milk machine. Do folks in the air force not use their bones?
