Stay far far away from this so called animal hospital!
I brought my dog in for a limp on all her legs she was diagnosed with Lyme’s disease! they didn’t even take her temperature and never gave me a follow-​up call to see how she was doing ! all they gave me was 28 days of antibiotics and shove me out the door!
I went to their office today!
I said my dog is in pain and is now limping on her legs can you do anything for her? I asked her could you please give her an anti-​inflammatory for her pain? Her answer was no we can’t give your dog anything unless you bring her back next week for another exam!
I asked them why they never gave a follow-​up call never took her temperature! Their excuse was they see too many animals diagnosed with Lyme’s disease and they don’t have time to follow up on the cases…
this is unheard of this place should be put out of business. Do yourself a favor and drive the distance to go to a real veterinarian in a real animal hospital, this place will do nothing for you except take your money!

My 3 year old chihuahua was experiencing vomiting & not eating so I made an appt since it was a holiday and a lot of offices were closed. I had a tech named Holly. I knew my dog was very sick. Holly went & got me an estimate for $ 575 – 970 for iv, blood tests, X-​rays, etc. I told Holly that I simply cannot afford this & is there some testing we can start off with so its not so expensive. She starts to belittle me saying that I shouldn’t have more dogs than I can afford and that she only has 2 dogs cuz that’s all she can afford and how she is a single mother and she had a+ credit so she can have an extra credit card just for her vet bills. At this point I’m crying and feel like a piece of shit but just paid all my bills for the month & didn’t have the money! I even applied for some credit card they accept there but was only approved for a portion of the quote. I told her to just do the blood test & we’ll take it from there. While in the back I could here her talking to her coworkers about me! This just made me feel more shitty. My dogs blood results came back that her kidneys and liver were failing so at this point they would refer her to a specialized hospital & she only had a 30% chance of survival. So in the end we had her euthanized. The visit cost me $ 285 instead of $ 970 & I had the answer I needed. Not only was I so upset that my dog was being euthanized I felt like a worthless piece of shit cuz I don’t have a special credit line for vet care. This was the worst experience in my life. I can’t believe that someone like this works with people. I also had my son with me who did not need to hear the things she was saying at a time like this. She had no compassion or respect for what we were going thru. I have taken another one of my dogs there in the past and was going to switch to their ofc for all my animals care but after this experience I will NEVER go there again & I will not recommend anyone who loves their pets to go there either!

I highly do not recommend this vet. I have been with them for many of my animals. I used to be very pleased with this vet but about a year ago this place and services have become so poor. They lack knowledge and drain your pockets. I’m not one to give bad reviews often but this place is terrible. Not only do they not give you a straight answer, but they also are rude. For instance, my cat was very dehydrated due to a shot (that was unnecessary for him to receive but I was talked into it) I brought him in to receive IV fluids at 7pm. I was told to return at 9:30pm. I called before heading down there because they are notorious to make people wait and not give you an answer. They had JUST put the IV in at 9:15pm. Knowing it takes about an hour to two hours to have the bag done.
Also, my puggle has an allergy to something. My first visit there I asked of there was some kind of test that could be done by blood to see what he was allergic to. They talked around my question and told me the best method was to give him steroid medication (which helped only short time and is very bad for dog’s kidneys). I went back four more times in a year and a half and on my fourth visit they said «well we do have a blood test we can do». I was furious because the blood test was $ 500. I had already spent around $ 680 in medical bills for the visit costs as prescriptions. Needless to say I transferred my vet for my dog immediately.

I can not say enough about Northern Rhode Island Animal Hospital. I moved to RI a few months ago and during that time noticed that my female yorkie had a large mass on her abdomen that was getting larger. In a complete panic I scheduled a last minute appointment to have her seen. Dr. Jeff Logan was extremely thorough and was very sensitive to the fact that I am a very overprotective dog mom! (And maybe even have a bit of separation anxiety when it comes to my dogs) He was happy to conduct a series of tests while I held her, as opposed to taking her out back and doing so. This made me feel very comfortable with what naturally was a very unpleasant process. They aspirated cells from her mass and prepared the samples to be sent out for analysis. He was able to look at it himself and offer me his thoughts on what he felt he was seeing. From what he could tell, it was mostly fatty tissue, which was reassuring. They sent us home and told us as soon as the resuts came in they would call us with them. It was an extremely difficult few days but when I received the call that it was benign, I was completely overjoyed.
Now, several months later, I had another emergency. After getting my dogs groomed at Muttley Crew in Smithfield, my girl was experiencing extreme lethargy and had a completely «blood red» eye. At first, I thought she had been sedated by the groomers as well as poked in the eye. Very concerned, I called NRIAH at 9pm and they were able to see her by 9:50. After a thorough exam, Dr. Logan determined that my dog had experienced impact trauma to her head, which caused swelling of her brain. It was likely the groomer either dropped her while handling her, or she fell off the grooming table. Dr. Logan suggested an MRI, and advised I monitor her and allow her to rest and heal. I assumed the bill for the last minute, late night emergency visit would run us several hundred dollars, but much to my surprise the visit totalled $ 90. Thankfully my baby seems to be making a full recovery.
Dr. Logan and his staff are not only accomidating and thorough, but very obviously genuinely care about their clients animals. I wouldn’t dream of taking my dogs anywhere else after my experiences at NRIAH. I have visited many veterinary hospitals over the past decade, and never have I found one as wonderful all around, as this.

I went here for the second time last night. I have had a different vet each time, and each one was wonderful. The technicians and the doctors are friendly, they explain everything they’re doing, and they are very upfront about cost, optional procedures, and their recommendations. One thing in particular that stood out to me was the dental check given to my dog. At my previous vet’s office, they had recommended twice to me that she have the full day teeth cleaning ordeal, and asap. At NRIAH, the vet said my dog had tartar on one tooth only, and I should be able to prevent further decay with regular brushing. She basically said there was no need to recommend a full dental procedure for only one tooth. I think it’s very easy for veterinarians to take advantage of people who love their pets, but that is NOT the case at NRIAH. I’m so happy this place was recommended to me!

I had moved four or five towns away and didn’t want to torture my cat with a 45 minute ride to the vet we used to go to and someone recommended Northern RI Animal Hospital.
I set up an appointment for her yearly visit and they were very accommodating and helpful which made the transition smooth. They called my old vet to get my cat’s records to figure out exactly when I needed to come in to keep her rabies vaccination up-​to-​date and I even received a reminder call a few days before her appointment. They were able to take me on a Saturday morning as well which is convenient.
It is set up similarly to the place I used to go, where there are multiple vets and unless you specifically request one, you get an appointment with whoever is available.
So, I can’t say my cat liked it … after hissing and growling and crying and being jabbed and poked at all morning, she’s still in hiding. But I thought they were very thorough, up front about prices, knowledgeable and friendly. I was very happy with the services I received there, including the prices. I will definitely be going back.
