The Home Depot

Just bought a neat webber grill, the store put it together for no charge. Not only did they do a great job, they all were so helpful and friendly. I should note they also had the best price I had found, Amazon, other brick stores, none had a better price.

No less than five employees asked if we needed assistance and they all smiled. Great sale items on endcaps and there was no waiting in checkout.

I was in this store for a mere 15 minutes and no less than 5 staff members approached me to see if I needed help finding what I needed. The aisles were very clean neat. Salesperson Ben was working the entry way to make sure you knew which direction to go to find what you were looking for. Very helpful.

I’ve shopped at quite a few Home Depots, and generally I am very satisfied with the service, prices and selection. I popped in here yesterday on my way home from Taylors Falls to see if they had a particular orchid I was looking for. Right as I walked in, there was a female employee lurking in the entryway and she asked me what I was looking for. It was nice of her, but honestly I was kind of creeped out by the way she was hangin out there and «pouncing» on customers as they entered. I told her I was just looking for the plants, which I motioned towards to indicate that I knew where I was headed.
I went to the indoor plants department, where I was approached by someone else offering to help. I told them I was just looking for an orchid, which I was standing right in front of at that time. I asked him if they had everything out on the floor, or if they had any more hidden somewhere. He said they were all out, but there were some more near the register.
I was very disappointed with the selection overall. At most Home Depots, I find a plethora of plants I’d like to take home with me even when I’m not in the market for one (and even if I don’t have room for them). But here, there wasn’t a single plant that I wanted… not to mention that they weren’t in the greatest condition either (many were wilted, dried out, or just plain unhealthy looking). I’m not sure who is in charge of the department at this location, but whoever it is, they seem to either be on vacation or else sadly they aren’t very good at their job.
I checked other carts throughout the front of the store to see if the blue orchid I was looking for might be hiding in a display near the checkout, but no such luck. Even if I had found one, I would hate to see what kind of shape it was in. When I left, I opted to exit out the door farthest away from where I came in, just to avoid the lurking lady.
