If you want a great burger you have to come here. It’s a steakhouse so you should expect great meat. I order my meat medium well and it’s juicy and perfect! Their 16oz burgers with fries are delicious! I did say 16oz! They are monsters! You will want another one because it’s so good but you’ll be too full. The only reason I had to give them 4 stars is because they are extremely pricey. The offer free refills and everyone’s glass is actually a mini pitcher(probably like 36oz drink) and that’s pretty cool.

I come here for the mango long island iced tea and shrimp/beef fajitas and their wings. These are always excellent. Once in a while the drinks are made differently, but usually are great. Wait staff is nice and many have been here for years. I recognize them. Prices are not cheap, so expect to pay 20+ per person if you get a drink and dinner. I think it’s worth it and if you’re in Forest HIlls, chances are you’re not going to go to McDonald’s anyway.

The interior is a ok but thats about it. Food really sucks there. My order, which was of a Mexican origin didn’t taste anything like Mexican food at all, it was too salty, almost Inedible and rubbery. and most importantly it didnt taste fresh… Yuck, never again!

If you expect to get food you’ve ordered and you try to adhere to some semblance of standards, do not eat here. After attending a concert in the Forest Hills Stadium(awesome), we decided to do some bar hopping in the area. This area of Forest Hills is really cute, and we were excited to check out the local businesses. Things were going well. Then… we came here. I am all for character, but if there is one word I would use to describe this place it is… STICKY. We ordered some drinks and they were out of literally 75% of the beers on the menu. Well, at least the drinks in general were cheap(this is the main reason to come here). We put in an order for food. By food, I will specify and say we put in an order for nachos. You know, tortilla chips with some toppings, nothing that needs to be cooked, and in a place like this, probably all comes out of a can. After an hour, we still hadn’t received our food. The place was EMPTY, so that was confusing. The bartender apologized and said she would check on the order(aka actually put in the order). 30 minutes later we asked about it again and said we would cancel the order in 5 minutes. She said she would go check on it, came back and said«Yeah, you should just cancel the order». So…an hour and a half for nachos that we did not get. No apology, no offer to comp or discount our tab, nothing! Just a sticky, dirty environment and terrible service even $ 4 beers could not make up for.

Because of the price, this restaurant is getting one star. This place is ridiculously overpriced for average food. The décor is nice and the service is just okay. I ordered the chili, which was good, but the bowl was tiny! For Mexican food, look elsewhere.

Okay, so I literally live right next door to this place, but it took my boyfriend and me almost a year to try out the food. We were pretty hesitant because the prices were so high and the food selection wasn’t anything extraordinary. We finally took the plunge and had dinner here on a Saturday night. The place is not usually packed, so waiting is not an issue. It seemed clean from what I could tell, but I didn’t use their facilities or even leave my table. The one good thing I will say about this place is that they serve their sodas in personal mini-pitchers that you get free refills for! That’s amazing. So, on to the food… the portions are HUGE. Like ridiculously so. Food was decent — their burgers are actually pretty tasty and they don’t charge extra for the toppings when you create your own. The Taco Salad was… mediocre to say the least, but they didn’t present it as anything more than what we were given, so I’m alright with it. Overall, decent experience. May not go back again, but who knows since it’s so close to home.

Iv’e been to this place for the past 13 years or so and I remember having eyes bigger than my stomach after leaving that place. Nothing changed about that for sure. Yes, you spend a little more money, but they have quality style mexican food. The fact that people are calling it a half-ass OutBack Steakhouse is a bit lame. I love going there with a large group of friends, eat nachos, burgers and drink coronas. The scenary is a bit like a Spaghetti western film gone bad and thats why I love it. There is a lot of space, and many tables to fill. I pay about $ 25 – 40 dollars for myself as total of the bill. If you happen to be in forest hills, skip the Boston Market bullcrap and go to an actual resturaunt. −3.5÷5 stars. The burgers are fabulous, the lunch special is huge for 22 dollars.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and I have always visited within a group of friends. Now I have eaten at some of the best steak houses in the country and this one isn’t to bad. Skirt steak and beer is what I always get and it hasn’t failed me yet. Now granted I have had way better skirt steak but Whenever I have ended up coming here I play it safe by getting the one thing that hasn’t failed me in this place. One of the biggest issue here is the parking. It’s in the heart of forest hills and if your coming here during the weekend then good luck.

Tasty but ordinary food. Service was OK, steak was undercooked and not tender. Chicken was overcooked but very tasty. Nice salad, baked potato was crusted with sea salt, so skip this side if you’re watching your sodium.

Husband and I are new to the area, so we’re still working our way through the restaurants within walking distance. Tonight’s visit to Santa Fe started off with really slow service(and note, it was 8pm on a Sunday, it was not packed), but once our server showed his face, everything got better. First off, free refills on soda, unlike many places we’ve tried in NYC. Hubby was happy about that. Second, our entrees came with a salad to start, which was a nice touch, and fresh bread that was warm and chewy — very good(although, these touches were probably pumping up the entrée cost). But… My ribs were delicious! Husband’s steak was cooked as ordered(medium rare) and the smothering treatment of onions and mushrooms were also tasty. I’ll agree with Bernadette that it seemed a little on the expensive side for a knockoff Outback, but not necessarily more than other places around the area. We’ll put it in the rotation for random nights we don’t want to cook.

Waited a long time for this day to have the delicious bread, mash fully loaded, and ribs! My husband brought me here to eat their ribs back when we were dating which was about 9 year ago. We haven’t been here since not due to not liking the food, but the distance from where we lived. We tried to find restaurants who made comparable ribs and mash, but in the 9 years we’ve been together, we have not found a single one! Santa Fe’s ribs are juicy and tender. The meat falls off the bone and you just can’t stop eating them until they are all gone! The entrée seems a bit large, but trust me, once you get started, you can’t stop! The restaurant though seems to need some updating. It’s clean but needs somewhat of a face lift.

I’m pretty sure this place knocked off their concept and menu from Outback Steakhouse, but that’s OK! It’s definitely more expensive than it needs to be(entrees approaching or over $ 20), but the only reason I say this place is at least worth going back to is our server was awesome! He was so nice and friendly and he was able to give us legit recommendations and remembered our preferences without any prompting. He was super attentive and was such a pleasure, that I actually felt compelled to tip more than necessary, which is the first that’s happened in a really long time. Just because I live close by, I’d come again for a quick meal or feel like getting out of the house with the family.

Meh is right. Way overpriced for mediocre dishes. I don’t get the double dollar signs. The onion soup was so disappointing for something that costs $ 7. Their sweet potato fries were good I’ll give them that but I won’t be coming back. I ordered one app., one soup, and one side which came out to be $ 22 and some change plus tax. You may have robbed me today but never again Santa Fe!

It’s a bit pricey here, so if you’re going to come with a friend here for dinner, come before 6:30 for their specials — which is basically a menu item but with unlimited soft drinks and a dessert. Good service and I appreciate the hot towels, carafe of water, and the nice loaf of marble bread — thought it could be warmed along with the butter. Caesar salad, half rack of ribs, sweet potato fries — all spot on.

I have been here a few times & it never occurred to me to review it so is figure I do it now for my most recent visit. For appetizers we went with the wings & coconut shrimp. The shrimp was pretty tasty, good wings nice & crispy. Caesar salad is good. I had the taco salad, which to my surprised was huge & not bad the taco shell was good, so was the grilled chicken this is definitely one to share. The cactus punch drink was pretty good, so was the blue horizon. This place is nice pretty big, the décor fits the place decent service & reasonable prices.

I like their gigantic salad there. I like the huge cups of soda. Is it great no. Santa Fe «Steakhouse» is just mediocre. The price tag is a big high though. The one thing I like about this place is the booths feel semi private because they are tall. The food is a bit bland. Not memorable at all. Forest Hills suffers as far as good places to eat. Almost every restaurant in Forest Hills is just mediocre and overpriced.

A rainy afternoon when my girlfriend and I were craving 1. Hot soup 2. Buffalo wings, our Forest Hills savvy guide led us here… and boy, did they deliver! I liked the booths seats, it was all wood & tree-like, does have that South Western feel, I guess. Our waiter was cute, but I feel like I was more polite & smiley to her than she was to us =X I had the vegetable soup, which was yummy and really hit the spot. It wasn’t as chunky or hearty as other places would have it, but I was okay with it since I was looking for something to sip on. If I wasn’t coughing, I’d totally try their chilli though! My girlfriend got the buffalo wings she had wanted, we were all satisfied with how crispy & flavorful they were!(And I’m a spice eater) They are officially the first restaurant I’ve seen that cares about plating of the wings instead of just scattering or lumping them together on the plate. Aside from celery & carrot sticks with bleu cheese dip, it also came with extra buffalo sauce which I took full advantage of. I must say the wings alone was money well spent. Our guide aka my bestie got the steak burrito, and it was huge! The tortilla also had cheese melted onto it, so it looked even more monstrous/savory. The pilaf was nicely cooked and seasoned(thank goodness! Good pilaf is hard to find). We split a ½ lb burger that comes with sauteed onions, grilled mushrooms, cheese, and bacon at NOEXTRA cost. It was delicious! Whoever’s reading this must come and see for yourself.(Once again, my golden rule: order a level rawer than how you actually want it, and it’ll come out the way you hoped). One interesting note we gotta mention was their steak fries. We thought it’d be the thick-cut rectangular fries, but it was a sliced fried potato. Each piece looked like tree trunk slice and potato skin=bark, potato center=tree rings. Good laugh. I would definitely come back again for the wings and chilli. And to try their fried ice cream!

Discovered this place one day when it was my husband’s birthday and the place he wanted to go was having kid’s night. We’ve been back a few times since and it’s our special occasion pick. I love the fajitas and can get them without onion here. The best rice I’ve had and the portions are a fair size. They also have bread that is part pumpernickel & part white. Service is amazing and the desserts are huge. The fried ice cream is especially good. Definitely a good place to take out of town guests and the menu seems to have something for everybody.

So I recently went back here after about 10 years or so. Their steak is ok, but their enchiladas are terrible! This is a good place for a group, but seing how this area has so many restaurants these days, I’d probably pick another place. Oh, the one thing I liked was that they serve their soda in mini-pitchers. Very cool.
