Lots of sandwich options. We got the veggie and Italian sandwich on whole wheat. Sandwich was ok, although seemed to be mostly bread compared to most other delis that I have been to.

Fantastic little sandwich shop on the tail end of Austin Street. Unassumingly squished between several other unremarkable buildings, this place was a bit hard to find. It’s just a few steps from the Supermarket, towards 72nd Rd. First and foremost, I’m a huge fan of boar’s head meats and when you put those meats in between two slices of bread, you undoubtedly get a little piece of heaven. Sammie’s serves amazing sandwiches. Great prices, generous portions, fresh ingredients, unique combos — I’m always craving more! Today, I got a Black Forest Ham /Brie /Granny Apple Slices sandwich for myself and a Prosciutto /Fig Spread /Manchego sandwich for my bf. I have yet to get a verdict on my bf’s sandwich but I absolutely melted into a puddle of pure joy when I bit into my sandwich. The Black Forest Ham was smoked to perfection, the brie was fresh and creamy, the honey mustard added both a bit of sweetness and a punch of spice, and the granny apple slices provided a delightful crunch with each bite. I’ve had many ham/brie or turkey/brie sandwiches before but none with granny apple slices. It’s novel but so perfect, I’m surprised I haven’t seen that combo more often! Not only are the sandwiches great, but the service is just exemplary! The staff were super friendly, attentive, patient, welcoming, and just completely brightened my day. It’s a great feeling when you walk into a small, unassuming deli and walk out with a big smile plastered across your face cause the staff were just so nice. My only nitpicky complaint is that their«side salads»(the little bite-sized portions of potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, etc. that comes with each sandwiche) are a bit too sour for my tastes. Edit: I have just taken a few bites of my bf’s prosciutto/fig sandwich and I must say, it’s ridiculously good! I’m not even a fan of fig or basil and I love it so much I want to steal his other half… Man, this combo is perfect: the prosciutto is just as good as you’d imagine boar’s head prosciutto would be, the fig balances the prosciutto out with a subtle sweetness, the manchego cheese adds a sharp savory punch, and the basil lifts the palate, adding a surprisingly delicate, spring aroma to the otherwise flavor packed ingredients. Amazingly complex for a sandwich and a total delight! Service: 5⁄5 — it’s not often that a restaurant’s service is so good, it makes you smile just ordering a sandwich to go Food: 5⁄5 — fresh ingredients, unique combos, and reasonable prices Atmosphere: 3⁄5 — tiny and cramped, with limited seating available, but that’s just how it is for small family owned deli’s on Austin St Overall: 4⁄5 — great, little sandwich shop to satisfy all of your sammich-y cravings!

it’s a tiny deli with about 5 seats, but if you want a good sandwich then Sammie’s is reliable. you’ve got the standard cold cut combo sandwiches, and some better ones like jerk turkey and spicy chicken. uh, yeah, keep it spicy! portions are hefty; you could definitely get two meals out of one sandwich, which given the price you may want to do. service is friendly and fairly quick, usually.

So this place comes up on my GrubHub, even though it’s a bit far. I decide to order at work for me and a couple of other people for lunch. We are teachers at a school with a set lunch time, so I ordered giving more than an hour for the food to be delivered. I get a message saying the food will arrive between 11:55 and 12:05. Which is perfect timing. Well needless to say, the food came at 12:45. When I called the place they gave some excuse about the driver’s car and what not. Not to mention they were SO rude about it. If they were going to be THAT late why didn’t I receive a phone call telling me there was a huge delay. I would have canceled the order. It’s not fun when you have 5 minutes to eat before a class comes in that you have to teach. They refused to compensate me, but gave me a $ 5 off my next order– which went straight to the garage. Like, I’d ever patronize a place that wants to blame everyone else for a 2 hour delivery time. Horrible customer service and embarrassing business practices. Luckily Grubhub gave me a $ 15 credit, which I can use toward another place next time I order. Also, food was ice cold, the paper soup containers had caved in and leaked everywhere, it was just a mess. A tip for this place: treat your patrons better, and give them a heads up if you plan on taking 2 hours to deliver.

This is a place I’ll order from again and again. Sandwiches are always 100% fresh and plentiful. I love the prosciutto with fig spread, Italian sub, as well as the eggplant vegetarian sandwich. Servers are very kind, and they include a little salad(coleslaw, macaroni or potato) free with your sandwich. I don’t like mayonnaise, however, and wish they had a mayo-free option… Please? :)

They have a wide selection of sandwiches; one is sure to satisfy your craving. The prices are a little high, but the ingredients and vegetables are fresh. I can’t say that it is the best sandwich I’ve had, but it’s one of the better sandwich shops in the area that we have tried so far.

Amazing sandwiches/subs. I ordered the jerk turkey with gouda cheese sub… perfectly made with the right amount of cheese and meat. Wife ordered the same on sliced bread… equally as delicious. Will be back again as a regular!

I have to say I am not a big fan of sandwiches but if i get a craving this is definitely my #1 stop for one! They have so many combinations of sandwiches and the«build your own sandwich» is my all time favorite. The fig spread is the most amaaaaaaazing thing I have ever tried. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone :) thanks for changing my mind about sandwiches!

I went back again a few days after my first visit. I ordered«The Rodeo» sandwich again since it was so good the first time around. After getting home, I was hungry and couldn’t wait to start eating. I was disappointed to find the sandwich wasn’t the same as it was previously. The roast beef was much less than before and wasn’t the perfect medium rare that I expected. Although it was still good, I can’t stand inconsistency. One day it’s made one way and another day it’s made differently. You never know what to expect. If you go to a fast food chain and order a burger, just about every time the burger will be the same no matter what location or time of day, right?! I shouldn’t have to ask who’s the chef or cook on duty today when I go eat any where. If there are 2 cooks or 20 cooks, they all should make the same dish the same exact way! I will go again and see what happens. But if it’s different yet again, it will be my last time.

Quality food. Friendly staff. Decent prices. A good place to grab a quick bite. I would definitely return. There are small tables and chairs to sit, but not a lot of elbow room. But if you’re looking for something to eat while you’re on the go, I would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic sandwiches here. Their old world sandwiches live up to its name cus the prosciutto fig jam sandwich I got really reminded me of the ones I’ve had in France. Their hot sandwiches are fantastic too. Try the pastrami. The meat is thinly cut but layered on thick and goes extremely well with the fancy mustard. The sides are great too although I wish they were bigger. If you are in the neighborhood and crave a good sandwich, then go to Sammie’s. You won’t regret it. My kid was only 15 months old and he knew it was good stuff. Stole my wife’s last bite and wouldn’t let go.

Are you in the area and craving a sandwich or a panini? Then Sammie’s is the place for you. Pricier than Subway(a sub will cost you a little over $ 8) but you’ll definitely eat fresh. The prosciutto and manchego is my favorite sub. As for a panini, I’m slowly trying them all but the ones I’ve had are so good I can’t avoid getting them again. It takes willpower to say«I’ll have something else today!» The folks behind the counter are super friendly. I’ve met Sammie on more than one occasion and the man’s very nice. You don’t need an extensive review for this place, just go! **I’m avoiding the potato salads that come with the sandwich for now … they changed the recipe and now it’s too creamy.

This is THE place I’ve discovered to go to in the area for the best sandwiches you can get. The delivery is blazing fast, the delivery guys are nice, the food is always fresh and delicious, and the build-your-own sandwich feature is fantastic. Their smoothies are awesome. The selections you can make are amazing. They have a huge range of ingredients to choose from. It may seem a little pricey at first, but once you get the sandwich you just paid $ 11 for, youll understand why — it’s huge. Big enough if you’re really hungry, but also enough for two meals if you’re not quite that ravenous. I LOVE this place! Best sammich shop EVAR!

I ordered for lunch the proscuitto manchego fig spread sandwich, chili soup, and iced coffee through grubhub. The iced coffee was ehh. The sandwich was good but I thought I could make it better by putting it on the panini press, and it was DELICIOUS! Excellent! The chili was good, not too salty. I’d probably order from here again… it is pricey.

Cons: Ordered three subs on a Sunday afternoon — only one guy working there, so it took some time. Also a little pricey — think each sub was about nine dollars, for a(relative to other delis) smaller portion. Wish they sold bigger bags of chips. Doesn’t take Amex. Pros: Food was delicious. Dude was friendly. Menu is pretty comprehensive.

I never went to the place but I have ordered a few times at from them and got great sandwiches. I choose to make my own sandwich which I can choose everything I want from all different kinds of meats, cheeses, toppings, spreads and so on. They put sandwiches together really neatly and from what I have had so far, it was all delicious and the prices for what you get are not bad at all. I’m glad they are able to deliver from grubhub since the parking in Forest Hills is virtually impossible. This is a great place to order a sandwich from ones that they name already or one that you can choose to «build your own».

Yay! Finally a normal place to get a sandwich on Austin Street!!! They have speciality deli sandwiches, as well as a low-fat section of choices, plus of course your wide selection of just about every deli meat, cheese and spread you can want to put on a sandwich. They also make wraps for those who enjoy them. Every sandwich also comes with a free«salad»(macaroni, potato, cole slaw) on the side. As well as being deli heaven they also offer breakfast special sandwiches, as well as your basics such as muffins. All meats and cheeses are Boar’s Head. It’s hard to rate a place like this since it’s so basic, but it’s exactly what this street needed!
