Ugh they are soo slooowwww here! I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve come a handful of times, because they’re a 1-minute walk from my apartment building, but I’m done. A mani/pedi literally takes them an hour and a half. Nothing fancy, just a straight mani/pedi. And it’s not particularly neat-looking either. There’s always a woman sitting at one of the stations just painting nails on a fake hand, maybe practicing? It’s hard to believe there’s always a new person training, but there has to be some explanation as to why you’re waiting 40 minutes because everyone else is working and she’s just sitting there. They barely give you the hand/leg massage during the mani/pedi, and the pedicure seat is really uncomfortable, especially when they turn the massager thing on. One of my biggest qualms is that they aren’t straight with you. About a month ago and again last night, I went in, everyone was with a customer(except of course for one lady just folding towels.). I asked how long the wait was and was told«10 minutes». Thirty minutes later when I asked again, I was told«20 minutes». Wtf?! I would’ve just went somewhere else if I’d known it’d be so long! I did leave, and went to Jade down the block, but I would’ve(should’ve) went a half hour sooner. Also, it’s a plus when a salon is really clean and spa-like inside. Plenty of salons are middle-of-the-road, nothing extraordinary. Queens Nail is on the opposite end of that spectrum. Dingy, dim, dirty, dank… it’s kind of gross inside. AND there’s a $ 1 charge to pay with credit card. I still can’t believe I’ve come as often as I have, I’m not any more though. Yes, it’s so close to home, and yes, a mani/pedi here is only $ 17, but it’s just not worth it.

have you been to nail salons? most likely they’re garbage hence why you should bring your own tools. yeah yeah they should be sanitary and have disposable items etc., but honestly who has ever walked into a non-spa aka $$$ salon and was given a clean new set of tools? uh, no one. i bring my own to be 100% safe and you should too. tip: clean with betadine. it’s not the prettiest place. that’s me being nice instead of saying it’s grungy and no-frills… and they all speak chinese thinking that i don’t understand, but whatever. sure there’s a nicer cleaner looking salon a few doors down… and all along queens blvd for that matter. i’ve tried them all within a 5-mile radius of kew gardens and forest hills. listen, i’m not saying this is the best place ever, but you can’t beat $ 7 manicures and $ 20 cnd shellac. granted i realize that it’s not about the price vs quality, i’m not an idiot; but i’ve been going here for years and never had a problem. this place also doesn’t destroy my cuticles.

RUN! IT’S A PIECEOFCRAP! SAVEYOURSELVES! So, here’s what happened. Today, I was in the mood for a quick mani/pedi, so I walked around the corner and found this POS place. It look grungy, but since I was freezing my ass off, I decided this place will do just fine. The salon appeared very unkempt, dirty, unorganized, and completely vacant(should have been my first warning). I sat in the chair for my pedicure and the nail technician began. I started to look around, and noticed dirt, grime, and crap everywhere. I tried to ignore it. I figured — hey, my dogs are barking, and they just need some polish and I can get the hell outta here. THEN. A man walks in(with a sketchy looking briefcase) and asks, «How much for an eyebrow wax?» The technician replies, «Eight dollar.» The man, seeming very skeptical of her answer, begins to peruse the salon menu and noticies it says 6 dollars for a wax, and not 8, as the technician had previously stated. He questions her as to why she told him 2 more dollars than the menu states, and she had no answer for him. He asked to speak to a manager and to see a cash receipt from the register, both of which she had nothing to show for. She continues to service my feet, and he writes up a violation. THEN. She finishes the laborious portion of my pedicure and is now ready to paint. Rather than grabbing disposable sandals, as most salons have, she grabs a disgusting pair of used, battered, and all around nasty-ass flip flops to place on my feet. I immediately pull away and say, «No. There is NO way those are going on my feet.» She then points to a wall, alerting me that I can PAY for crappy plasticky flip flops. I again, say no. She then grabs HEROWN flip flops and tries to put them on my feet. I decided I had had enough of this crap, and paid for my $ 12 pedicure-with-no-paint servicing, and got the bleep out of there. I hope the city does the right thing and shuts this hole down as soon as possible. Broast.

I will never come here again. First of all, fastest service ever and 2 days later my manicure was peeling.(10 second massage on each foot and each hand!!!) Second, I am pregnant and felt a little light headed while getting my nails done, I asked for some water and was told«we do not have any»!!! You don’t have tap water??? Third, when I gave her my $ 20 she did not bring me change… um…aren’t tips decided on by the patron! Do not come here you will be sorry!!!

If I can give it a Zero I will… I have been their before and gotten my nails done by the«manager» Min for my wedding and it came out great and she was not mean. However when I went in this past Monday to get a manicure for valentines day she was rude. First of all when I walked in she told me to pick a color, as I was picking a color another young lady walks in and asks for Min as well Min then tells her to pick a color, so we both sit and wait. Could you believe that this Min lady went ask the girl who came in after me to sit for her manicure first? Luckily the girl noticed and said that I was there first. SO min got upset and started to do my nails with an attitude to the point that when I asked if she could cut my nails she threw my hands down and clipped my finger! I then said there is no need for an attitude in a nice way and she said she did not have an attitude and that I should of told her that I wanted them clipped as soon as I walked in… I’ve never been to a nail salon that wouldn’t let someone ask what they would like to do and just proceed. The other woman in the salon noticed her attitude and even told me not to tip this wench. I being the nice person gave her a tip but did express the lack of service and rudeness. She has lost a customer and it’s no wonder the place is empty most of the time. I guess that’s what you get for a nail salon on queens blvd. I’m off to find another place that deserves my time and money.
