I honestly have to say it’s the first shop I have been to that actually treated me like a customer and try not to rush me out the door, i’m wheelchair bound and was given the right accommodations to be able to negotiate and talk about the jewelry I brought in. Avi is very friendly and professional and definitely knows what he’s doing even able to tell what kind of jewelry I had as I pulled them out, he knows what he’s doing and doesn’t just try to melt everything you bring so you can get more of your moneys worth and explains in detail what can be done with each piece of jewelry and definitely doesn’t try to rip you off! Another great thing about this shop is they take all kinds of jewelry whether its American, Indian, or Chinese. I recommend anyone to come here if they want to sell their old, broken, or unused jewelry.

Good ol’ Unilocal strikes again! I decided to purge some older jewelry pieces as well as a high-​end watch from my collection and after research, found Gold Buyers. I was extremely happy with the professionalism and customer service received as a client here. I called the business this morning and was able to secure an immediate appointment, arriving within an hour of speaking with Avi. He was great, sorted through my jewelry, told me what he thought the values were, and gave what I considered very fair prices for all of my items in total. I walked out a happy customer!
Although I did not browse the shop, I am certain they offer quality items as well for sale. I highly recommend the business if you are looking to sell, and possibly buy as well. It was a pleasure doing business with Avi.

Best place to sell your odd or broken jewelry pieces, great price and excellent customer service. Avi, the owner is friendly and easy to deal with, five starts, definitely the place to come back. The store also has lots of art, beautiful certified Picasso prints and vintage guitars for the music lovers.

Love this place! Has really interesting stuff — everything from jewelry, art, to even a custom chopper (!) yet feels like a regular retail experience. Doing some spring cleaning, sold some old jewelry I had sitting in a box & camera equipment. Avi was awesome! Super fair & professional. Went into the shop today and had a great experience. I went with my fiancée to try to help her unload some jewelry her grandmother got her. Not really sure if she should sell it or pawn it, Avi took us through what he’d give us in each situation. I know he was giving us a good deal because I went to a friend whose a gold buyer and he made the same deal. I wanted to see if we could get more for the jewelry if they were being sold as pieces instead of being melted down, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case and we decided not to sell. In order to make something out of our trip, Avi polished up my fiancée’s engagement ring for us free of charge. It shined so nicely she got comments on it by people in our building asking if it was new.
Overall, I felt like we were treated well and given fair and honest advice. I would definitely go back to here.

Love this place! I came in looking for an engagement ring and the owner, Avi, managed to get me exactly what I wanted for a mere fraction of what it would have cost had I gone the retail route (believe me– I did extensive research on pricing, quality, etc. before actually heading out to buy). He listened to my requests thoughtfully and was honest about what he had to offer. Overall, the experience was great. Its clear that he’s interested in building customer relationships, not quick sales. I totally agree with the other reviewers here– you’re not going to leave this place feeling swindled.

Went here with a 14k piece of jewelry, the guy tried to tell me that it was 10 maybe 11k gold. He low balled me for 100 $ when I know I had at least 200 $ worth of gold, then he offers me 120 $ if I give a good review on Unilocal.I didn’t take the deal, went to a pawn shop on the corner of cross-​bay and Jamaica ave. They offered 160 $ off the bat so I took that deal cause I know they gotta make money to. Watch out for this guy he acts like your best friend because he’s trying to get over on you.

Pawned some merchandise… and I believe I was able to get a fair deal for the objects in question.

If you want to deal with somebody who is straight forward, not looking to rip you off, and have an easy and fair transaction then head here and ask for Avi. I stopped by to unload some silver and Avi was very pleasant to deal with. I know my way around precious metals so I know that the deal I made here was more than fair. I will definitely return next time I want to get cash for my gold or silver bullion.

This is by far the best jewelry/​pawn shop ive ever been to. The owner was very friendly and an all around good guy. He walks you through everything and gives you a very good price. i personally had a very good experience with him because i was unfortunately robbed and lost a check from him. Gold Buyers Club preforms a service that I feel is long overdue on Metropolitan Avenue. Although the name and signage seems to indicate strictly a gold buying operation, you need to enter the premises to fully grasp their business model. IE: The purchasing and selling of many different items of different interests.
From a first impression, musical instruments and jewelry hold center-​stage, but artwork, electronics and antiques are all available. The owner was very welcoming and listened intently to my interests and answered my questions without beating around the bush and elusiveness. Having much experience with pawn shops, (not that I am lumping GBC&J into that category) as they are prevalent in many other states and being a life long Queens New York-​er, I know when I am dealing with a stand up person.
So, I can say with full confidence that if you have an item that needs to move on from its time in your home, if you are looking for some fine jewelry at honest prices, I do recommend Gold Buyers Club and Jewelry – Tell them Glenn sent you.
