I was looking for a good egg sandwich after being disappointed by a nearby bagel store — got it here! Even better was the price. This will definitely be my local spot.

This is pretty much the only deli I go to in this neighborhood. They have a wide variety of drinks, chips, candy, lottery and best of all there sandwiches! When it’s late at night and the only places that are open are only bars, this is the go to place! Great sandwiches at great prices and BEST of all they deliver!!! Open 24 hours!

This is my new favorite hangout in Forest Hills. This deli has a few seats in the front and they let you sit and drink there so that’s awesome! There’s always some interesting local characters and it’s fun to talk to them + there’s a non-stop flow of hotties coming and going. It’s a blast!

Solid deli/convenience store. Exactly what you would expect. Got a sandwich and will probably go to get another one soon.

RARE: A good Philly cheese steak in NYC RARER: A good Philly cheese steak in Forest Hills, NYC RAREST: A good Philly cheese steak in Forest Hills that you can order at 4 am to satisfy the drunchies. Empire Deli should get 4 stars just for falling into that last category. It helps that the sandwich is good too. The bread was super soft and the sliced steak, onion, green peppers and American cheese filling was tasty. The cheese was melted just the right amount and the sandwich was juicy without making the bread soggy. Great way to end the night while I was waiting for my cab to show up.

My local deli. Not much more to say. Decent egg sammies I know all the staff there, and can get a delivery of cigs or anything 24 hours a day. One thing for all you drunks out there, you can get a beer here after the bars close at 4, or on Sundays, so that’s ok if you’re into that.

I moved from NJ to Forest Hills and was looking for a deli to get some quality sandwiches for a good price and ran across Empire Deli. The sandwiches are huge(at least the tripledecker turkey club) and the price is not bad at all. I have them add bacon and cheese and the total was just over $ 8.00 and they are open 24 hours… yeah, I’ll be getting many more sandwiches from this place. I totally recommend going here if you’er in the area. Great place!

Sorry, but the minuses outnumber the pluses. The good news — Went for some breakfast and had a bagel with an egg & coffee and all of that for only $ 2.50! All fresh. The prices are good, the food is acceptable — I didn’t know I had to ask for salt on the egg. The counter man was very friendly and nice. I needed to kill some time while waiting for my car to be serviced and no one chased me for reading my paper & having my food. The bad news — it’s a candy store/newstand w/4 tables. Very grungy — had to ask for a wet towel to clean the table. The customers, neighborhood people who are definitely regulars, a little disheveled, a little more eccentric than usual. I guess that’s why people go to the fast food places.

There’s not a lot of Deli on Austin Street and thats not the reason why this deli is the best on the block… because it just simply is! Miguel makes the best lunch sandwiches!!! my favorite are the sausalito turkey and philly cheese steak. Their coffee is really good too. There’s starbucks and dunkin around the block but i’d always go to this deli for my fix.

Not bad, not great either. It’s just a convenient spot on Austin St because it’s 24 hours. You can get cold cuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, soda, beer, water, potato chips, newspapers, and lotto. It’s a nice spot for neighborhood locals who can get here by walking. If you’re looking to drive and find parking on Austin St. during the day, good luck.

there is a bit of a lack of 24-hour options in Forest Hills aside from the 7 – 11 or big-name pharmacies. this is a decent little deli if you want to grab a late night cup of coffee or tea, a bag of chips, or such. not really much else to say, but if you come stumbling out of the drinking establishments on Austin Street you’ll appreciate it. a few small tables and seats. sometimes you’ll see some older guys drinking cans of Coors Light tallboys all night. I gotta try their sandwiches one of these days.

I usually get my breakfast sandwich here – a bacon fried egg sandwich. Their coffee is delicious – a large with 3 sugar and half &half. They carry cold cuts and other grocery items. The guys that staff this store are the nicest.
