Asian Bowl

As a vegitarian, I usually struggle to find food at restaurants that isn’t all the same. Asian bowl had an entire vegitarian page on their menu that was comprised of fake meat. Normally, I stray away from imitation meat because it tends to be awful… but this place made it phenomenally! I tried both the chow fun and the pineapple chicken dish and couldn’t get enough of either.
Overall, this restaurant seems to be a place where people grab it and go, but if you do end up eating there, service is nice and speedy.

Another «dime a dozen» American Chinese joint serving the local community and for the most part with little cause for alarm. I think to judge the food too critically does a disservice to the owners, considering the level of dining Asian Bowl strives to achieve, or rather just achieves. Its a quick in & out place where you’ll need to try 1 or 2 different things before grabbing onto a «go to» dish.
I found the fried rice comparable to many others I’ve liked before and the shrimp teriyaki was well prepared however in small supply (lunch special size).
All in all, will keep ordering from Asian Bowl for the moments when thinking seems too difficult and Chinese food seemingly beckons!

I appreciate their quick delivery but definitely not the food. Both the quality and taste are mediocre.

I ordered nice and healthy food from this small takeoutAsian food restaurant last night. So impressed that they make quickly and clealy food without MSG. I have order shrimp padThai and GeneralTso chicken for take out, me and my boyfriend very enjoyed the food and definitely will order again. Padthai has big shrimp without any dirty part and tasty! my boyfriend loves their GeneralTso chicken every piece of chicken are white meat which most different between we had before from other places. We are both love GeneralTso chicken and tried from different places, some chicken has are lot of fat, some has black meat which are so unhealthy! we are glad that we found this little comfy place, and people service nice there given us discount for first order. ps: The chief secret sauce is very delicious!

We picked it up to bring back to Long Island, called them to tell them about the Tofu ins9of chicken the man was rude and said «next time we’ll make sure it’s fine!» no apology!
$ 25 down the drain!

My favorite asian place. Clean eating and I don’t feel so guilty after. Not to mention, it’s always good and delivery is always super fast.

I have to update my review for their chicken won ton soup. Won top soup is my favorite soup to o. After ordering it at several places, I have to admit, this is my favorite place to order it from. It’s light, clean and tasty! I’ve also had their chicken dumplings a few times after the previous review, and it’s perfect when I’m craving Chinese style dumplings.

I come here for their lunch specials which is a good deal for the amount of food you get ($ 6.50-$ 7.50). It’s always filling and it comes with miso soup. If you don’t like the edamame, you can ask for them to replace it with more fried rice. I used to do that but not anymore as edamame is healthier. The cashier always looks bored and the place is not physically maintained. as in you can tell when it opened many years ago they were trying but not so much anymore. Regardless, the lunch specials are worth it and it’s a step up from the typical Chinese takeout place.

I came here with a couple of friends and my wife after tennis. My friends highly recommended the place for lunch since it was very close to alley pond courts.
We ordered from the lunch menu which was reasonably priced. I had the maagee noodles (coconut flavored noodles) made extra spicy and it was fantastic. The egg drop soup was of high quality also. My wife had shrimp lo mein as she usually does and it was ok. Not too flavorful but not completely bland.
The place itself is small but clean. The staff is attentive but I only saw two workers. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Its not a terrible place though I feel the food is a bit overpriced. Combo meals come with this weird tasting beans that I haven’t touched since the first time I ordered from them. I don’t know if I’ll order often from here mainly because I feel the food is too commercialized. Not sure if that’s the right word for it but I’ve always been more into the ghetto Styrofoam container Chinese food spots.
I usually get the pepper steak and onion or beef and broccoli. I’m a red meat kind of guy. My roommate is in love with their general tsao chicken. I’m personally not a huge fan of it. The ghetto spots do it better. Delivery time is usually not bad but there have been a couple times we’ve had to wait. I do recommend it in the end if you don’t mind paying more for a nicer presentation of food. Alternative cheaper spots sacrifice the looks though for better tasting food

Customer service at this place is really really bad. They messed up our order and sent us the wrong dish. We called and asked for replacement and lady at the restaurant just hung up on us. We called again and her response was that we gave her the wrong order. Lady I was very clear what I wanted. They were willing to send the guy all the way back to pick up the wrong order back but wont refund us. The worst experience ever! All they could have done was own up to their mistake and replace our order. Never ordering from you guys again.

Two stars is not for the food, is for the cashier. We were planning to eat there, but it was a very small store, and nobody was eating there because of father’s day. So we decided to do take out.
When the food is done, the cashier kinda just threw it on the table, and we were surprised she did that. We left her a tip previously and we didn’t do anything to irritate her. It just blew our mind like «What have we done to you?»
The food we ordered was pretty good, worth 4 stars alone. I came here because they have vegetarian menu, and I ordered the soy protein chicken in korean bbq sauce. It came with rice, smashed sweet potato and edamame. The sauce is very good, covered the fact that the chicken isn’t real meat, and it’s good to have with white rice.

Update: I have decided to give them a try again. I ordered beef teriyaki at 8:30−9 PM. The waitress calls me and tell me they are out of beef. WTF?! So, I said I want to cancel and she says she can’t help me and that I would have to call Seamless. Then, I asked her if I can get something else and she said fine. The chicken teriyaki was actually terrible and dry. She didn’t even apologize or offer me even another soup or appetizer. I am thoroughly done with this god forsaken place. I am changing my review to one star. I’m not giving them any more chances!
Original: I have ordered from them through Seamless. ³⁄₇ times were bad experiences. I always order Beef Teriyaki, Chicken Fried Rice, Miso Soup, and another appetizer. The food is good with nice portions. Pricing is okay.
Generally, I order it later in the night (around 9 PM) because I work late. I get tired of eating Red House Kitchen, and places like Jade or MoCa are a bit pricier. I order from them because the teriyaki is so good.
However, the worst experience I had is when they delivered the WRONG thing. They take at least an hour to deliver. I had waited 2.5 hours for my correct order. UNBELIEVABLE.
The other time, I ordered at around 9:30. I didn’t realize that they closed at 10/10:30. So, the man comes to deliver my food at 10:25, I take it and go inside. He rings the bell again and says, «Next time don’t order» and walks away. !!! I was shocked.
The other reviews also say that the service has just been getting worse and worse. Of the 7 times I’ve ordered, the last 3 were the bad ones. I will not order from them again. They have lost my business permanently.

I want to give a five, because this restaurant delivers what it promises. It was definitely not the best Chinese food I’ve had, but if you’re looking for a really quick, super filling, relatively healthy, and pretty inexpensive, this is the right place.
I got the Hong Kong chicken dinner combo, which was a bit over $ 9, and it came with a lot of chicken, great fried rice, a dumpling, spring roll, edamame, and sweet potato – hitting most of the food groups. This was perfect for a post-​workout dinner, and I definitely would come again.

We have been ordering from Asian Bowl since they opened. For the longest time, the food and service was very good. However, in the last 6 months or so, the quality of the service and food has diminished drastically! They really need to get people whom know how to take an order properly for starters. The food prep has lost its consistency as well. We order every week and quite a big order at that, same dishes always. Lately it tastes like they have a new cook every time with a different cooking style. Up until now i would have given them 4 – 5 stars. Not anymore! With the choices of Chinese food delivery in Forest Hills, do not take your customers for granted. I hope you fix your issues soon and fast. As of now, you lost me as a customer and maybe down the road i give it another chance… maybe.

Cleaner tasting Chinese food than the rest of the neighborhood. Delivery wait times are ridiculous, live across the blvd and still have to wait more than an hour for food. When I call them to see where the order is, they always say it went out a while ago. 3 stars for food and 1 star for delivery man and since I’m starving right now and STILL waiting on the food, only 1 star for you Asian Bowl! :(

I was so angry last night. the food was so nasty, cold and dry. I ordered pad thai extra sauce. i got noodles and some stuff i didn’t recognize. they didn’t put in any forks or spoons. it was so bad, I ended up going to bed hungry. O btw i called them and ask them to give me my money back they said no, they only give credit but i will never order from there again so the credit is worthless.

Very hyped up and … unusual. What we ended up ordering was fine, but portions, delays with the order, and small things like asking multiple times for four sets of chopsticks… well, it was disappointing.
My guests were rather surprised and have much stronger opinions. I think we had all really hoped for a very different overall experience.

The food is pretty good. Lots of vegetarian options.
Overpriced
The people taking the orders are incompetent. Every time I order, there is a problem. Orders have items missing, the delivery takes too long (60+ minutes and I live 2 blocks away), and now they can’t sort out which orders are delivery or for pick-​up.

Ordered Vegetarian Combo Dinner & it was sent with Chicken in Rice & Chicken Dumpling! Inexcusable! My poor wife is throwing up & will not be eating dinner tonight. DO NOT TRUST VEGETARIAN FOOD TO BE FREE OF MEAT!!! Sorry for the bad news but I’m very upset that they did this to my wife.
