I’ve eatten here more times than I can remember. I love the food, the ambience, the wait staff… all of it. I usually get one of the specials.

I have had brunch here several times. The muffin basket was delicious and you get a complimentary mimosa or drink with your meal. I ordered the vegetarian omelette. It wasn’t bad, but the eggs were a little bland. The potatoes were nothing to rave about. However, I have been here for a baby shower and they were very accommodating and sat us in the back. We never felt rushed to leave.

The best seafood in queens. Great grill fish and sides. Lines are not too long. Price is a little high but you get what you pay for. Again the best seafood in queens.

The restaurant is nice and open which is rare. The service is great. Love the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich with Greek Fries and am also a fan of their Hummus. Last but not least their Grilled Vegetable Medley is fabulous as well.

Yes, my rating is low but let me tell you why. Keep in mind– food is good(nothing that stands out), I personally like the whiting fish and Greek spread sampler. I would give food close to 4 stars and I would give the waiters 5. This 2 star review is for the owner and the dictatorship he’s trying to run. The way he treats his staff is horrible, the way he deals with customer service is even worse. There was a mistake on my bill which he later tried taking out of my waiters tip money! He told me that he wasn’t giving out free meals! How rude! I couldn’t believe how frugal and insensitive this man was. He also charged a credit card from my party an extra $ 25 which was supposed to be refunded… never got that money back. I will never come back here unless it goes under new ownership.

I have visited the place 3 times. The food selection, wonderful attentive staff, ambiance, wine selection and price are all reasons that will keep me coming back. The octopus appetizer was amazing.

Good chicken gyros with French fries at this lovely Greek restaurant! Coffee is good here too. Good value! All in for $ 15!

I’m giving this three stars with reservations, as I ordered take-out right before closing, so it might not be a true reflection of the quality of the food there. Unfortunately, my falafel and hummus platter was sub-par and not worth the money spent. The falafels were bland and dry, the hummus tasted mostly like olive oil, and my girlfriend and I combined were barely able to eat half of the food given(despite being hungry). Perhaps it warrants another try, but I’m not particularly looking forward to going back anytime soon given my experience.

I went to Agora for dinner with a girlfriend. We both tried the pre-fixed menu. I had fish, she had lamb chops. Both dishes were edible, very bland and lacking in flavor. The prices are high for what they serve. The highlight of our meal was their baklava. There are too many other restaurants in FH to settle for mediocre food.

The breakfast food was horrible, literally dripping in grease. Bacon was soggy and potatoes were mushy. My mimosa came to me room temperature, so it was obvious they’re poured and waiting out in the open. The service was okay, up until the check. They couldn’t grasp how we wanted the check split only two ways. It took them nearly 20 minutes to fix the issue. They still didn’t get it right at the end, so we just left it that way. Won’t be returning. Update: they charged me twice after they insisted that they took the first charge off my card. Going back tonight, let’s hope they can do one thing right. The manager was apologetic and refunded me.

Very good brunch options. It was very crowded when we arrived but we were lucky to receive a table after a 10 mins wait. The brunch menu is decent and has some healthy options apart from the usual suspects such as Eggs benedict. The free bread basket was well appreciated. Service is good with wait staff careful to take care of the needs. Highly recommended

What a lovely place! The food was delicious and the service was great. I don’t think my glass was every empty because the millisecond I took a sip, the wait staff was right there to top me off. Our waiter had a sense of humor too! I’d totally go back.

Delicious! After a long afternoon of running errands in Forest Hills, I was looking for a place to relax and eat and decided to have lunch here. I ordered the Beef Gyro and it was absolutely delicious. Juicy, fresh and a very generous portion of meat. It came with fries which were also good but I couldn’t eat them because I was already so full from the gyro so I took the fries to go so I could enjoy them later. As for the prices, they are very reasonable. My bill came out to less than $ 10 which I was very happy about. The servers were also very friendly and accommodating. Hope to go back soon!

Was there tonight. September 23rd. It was packed for a Wednesday. I had the paidakia with Greek fries and my friend had the stuff shrimp with crab and lemon potatoes. The food was delicious as always and Carlos the waiter provided excellent services on a busy night.

Post work out meal. Wanted something healthier and came here for lunch. Lunch menu reasonable price. The beef gyro meat was juicy and tasty. They were nice to make my beef gyro without the pita and substitute the fries with lemon potatoes. Although, I would substitute it with Greek fries next time, because my friend had them and they were delicious.

The food is amazing. Fresh. Authentic. My favorite Greek place in Queens(yes even more than the Greek places I’ve been in Astoria). Cute little restaurant, clean bathrooms, mighty tasty drinks, great food specials. You will not leave hungry.

At one end of the Austin Street commercial strip is an attractive restaurant that declares its cuisine through use of the classic whites and blues of Cycladic houses on the exterior. The high-ceiling interior is clean and contemporary, whilst channeling some of that laid-back Greek islands atmosphere. Because of their corner location, they have one of the most desirable and largest outdoor seating areas of any restaurant in the area. When the window doors rimming much of the restaurant are opened up, it essentially doubles that seating. The menu is seafood-centric, although there are enough options among meats, salads, and pasta to service most. Grilled whole fish is done well here, simply dressed in just olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Some are imported from Greece, while others are domestically sourced, and often branzino, red snapper, and dorado are offered. It should be understood that these dishes take extra time to prepare, and that with their freshest seafood also comes the highest prices on the menu. But they are among their best dishes and well worth having. Whole small fish like whitings or sardines can be grilled or fried, and are tasty, bringing back fond memories of eating these in the Greek islands. Grilled octopus, another staple, is reasonably good. Seafood also comes in other forms, including pasta or stuffed and broiled, but I’ve yet to deviate from choosing grilled when having seafood here. Beef gyro is fine, as is chicken souvlaki, but the meat is not tender or succulent. Avgolemono, a refreshing, creamy chicken lemony soup, is average, running a bit too viscous and missing the vibrancy of lemon. Choosing from their specials, posted on a chalkboard by the entrance, is generally a good choice. Moussaka was such a special; it was generously sized, tender and flavorful, but the béchamel sauce topping lacked the smooth creaminess and delicate flavor that defines a great version. Service is reasonably available and gets the job done. Beverages include many Greek wines, Greek liquors, and mainstream beers, including Mythos. Agora Taverna offers the best Greek food on Austin Street, although it is a far cry from the offerings of Astoria. Still, with judicious ordering, it can be a very good dining experience, especially while seated outdoors on a beautiful day.

Their bronzini was delicious. The lemon potatoes however were were greasy. I’ve had better elsewhere. Service was a little slow. It took a while for my tab.

Used to go here often when I was in Queens. I always ordered a Greek salad, calamari and hummus. The food wasn’t bad but I have had better. The prices were what you would expect around forest hills, pretty pricey. The staff and atmosphere was always great. I found that sometimes their food was off on certain days. Worth a try though. Haven’t been back since April ’14. Wondering if they changed anything.

I’m on a budget so I wouldn’t come to Agora for a typical dinner or lunch, but my friend wanted to try it for her birthday so here we went. I really like the environment, the painted blue doors were very welcoming. There is a nice round table towards the kitchen and it seemed very cozy for the big party sitting there. For a Sunday night, there was a lot of people, even when we left around 10:00PM. My friends aren’t really into seafood but that was ok. The complimentary bread was kind of bland and another user said it came with a dip. Ours did not. Just maybe a hint of olive oil drizzled on the side. Not much at all. For apps we ordered the agora chips which were huge and delicious. It’s eggplant and zucchini in almost a tempura like batter served I guess with their version of tzatziki dip but unlike most Greek places, the dip had the texture of cream cheese. It was very good. We also ordered the spanikopita which was good as well. For dinner I ordered the fried sardines which had the same batter as the agora chips. It was light and good. For the side I ordered horta(green vegetable, slightly bitter). My friends split a chicken kebab with lemon potatoes and an arugula salad with feta which was really great. Service was good, friendly but not push. Would like to try to place out for brunch.
