The Lodge

Clean, but very dated. Seems like the manager is the only one working there. Getting help can take a while

My mother and I stopped at the Lodge while on a road trip through the Midwest! We were not disappointed! We were welcomed at the door by the kindest gentleman who was sure we had everything we needed for the night and even upgraded our room complementary, thanks Byron! We had an amazing view, and healthy breakfast outside. The patio overlooks a luscious golf course surrounded by a paved walking path. Our room had cable TV, a semi full kitchen, and two comfortable Queen beds. The game room was a great idea for traveling with kids or teens. Thanks!

We visit family in Forest City every so often and stay here every time. About 3 times now and every time has been very nice. It’s cozy and the people are friendly. There is a restaurant attached which has been great for our large group.
There is an elevator to the lower room if you have too many bags or for handicap access.
They serve a free breakfast in the morning which includes cereals, milk, coffee, OJ, bread for toast, apples, bananas, and oranges. I wish the restaurant was open for breakfast for a more substantial meal that is also gluten free.
The suites have a nice little kitchenette with a mini fridge, a sink, a coffee maker, and a microwave. I wish each room had a couple of plates, bowls, napkins, silverware, wine opener, wine glasses, etc.
I would also recommend to bring a hair dryer with you. The one they have attached in the bathroom is pretty weak.
This is definitely not a high class place. Just a simple small town hotel. Better than the alternative, if there is one.

We came to Forest City to visit our son attending Waldorf. Coming from California we planned to stay for a week to try to
watch 3 of his home soccer games. The owner was willing to work with us to accommodate our needs and has been very helpful. The lodge is in a gorgeous setting and meets our needs perfectly. We are very happy staying here.
