I needed to take a hike (at my own request, thank you) today and found myself drawn here for the first time. Of course, it was 28 degrees and overcast so I thought that the trails would be closed. But I discovered the parking lot at the HQ was cleared off and the trail brochures readily available. So I picked one up at the Orange Trail Head and hiked the entire 5 miles. I saw evidence of great trail maintenance and all sorts of wildlife tracks (turkey, deer, coyotes, rabbit and squirrel). It seems that the park has bounced back after a fire several years back.
