Our mall needs a serious upgrade! Bath and body works is the only store in it I really get excited over!

When I was a kid, Forest Mall had a good variety of mid-range chain stores and decent little snack shops. It was busy, and an attractive destination for those lived in a town without much else. My most recent trip(December 2014) was just bad news. One of the anchor stores, JCPenney, has, of course, closed it’s doors. Kohl’s seems to have a larger than usual«Ladies»(as opposed to Juniors) section, but seems par for the chain. Younkers is just a sad, sad shadow of it’s former self. Dirty, disorganized, and I’ve seen better fixtures in a Salvation Army store. The mall itself, which used to have a nice fountain/common area, is no longer an enjoyable shopping environment(dirty, mis-matched linoleum flooring, too). I’ve been to inner city malls that look better and cleaner. This is definitely a get in/get out kind of retail experience. Ick.

It’s only gotten worse in the last 6 months. Now both Sears and JCPenny are closed and boarded up as well as the movie theaters in the front of the mall. It’s depressing to even go in there. Time for the bulldozers to come in and start over as this model just does not work for this city. Many malls around the country are dying if they don’t come up with a new business model to draw people in. But Fond du Lac is never going a trendsetter or leader so it will die a slow ugly death.

Like previous posters have stated… this is not someplace to get excited. Especially if you are used to malls near Chicago, Appleton, or anywhere else that might have a half way decent mall. Not too many designer stores here. There is an American Eagle, which I might add my girlfriend noticed there was no picture of American Eagle on Unilocal,so she was taking a picture of it when she was approached by 2 Mall Cops who proceeded to berate her for taking a picture, stating that she was«infringing on the intellectual rights of American Eagle»…ok Barney Fife… It’s nice to have a Sears, Kohls, and American Eagle for those times when you need to just jet in and out of the mall. But if you need to do some real shopping or would like something that is a smidgen above Walmart brands… take a 45 minute ride to Appleton of a weekend trip to Chicago… well worth it

As anyone who lives in or shops in Fond du Lac knows, the Forest Mall is a high quality shopping experience. There are many great retailers… if you are looking to fit in with the attire of other Fond du Lac residents(aka mom jeans, Packer t-shirts, and off brand shape ups from Payless) Overall, I would suggest making a stop here if you would like a good laugh or to futilely look for a fashionable outfit. Pros: Orange Julius Sears Antique Store Wet Seal Claire’s Adopt a cat day from the Humane Society US Cellular Cons: Pump N Pantry Chicken left DEB and the Dollar Tree closed

well… comnpared to the Appleton mall its a shithole. compared to the sheboygan mall its las vegas. if you like hunting equipment, irregular badgers clothing and cheesehats, and sales from Kohl’s this is your place! They have a few name brand stores… along with a bar. wow, a bar in a mall… who said no to that idea? get shitfaced and buy stuff! thats the reason i have two holes in my ear for earrings instead of one. they do offer some super steals on good clothes from the buckle, jc penny’s, the gap, sam goody, etc… but its definitely not a plce you want to spend a day at.
