The beer selection and the staff is awesome. It’s way more low key compared to other places on Sutter, like Powerhouse. Usually where I go to get away from Powerhouse. Lol

It’s an ok dive bar. Drinks aren’t super strong, and they play a ton of country music=/ It is near our favorite Chinese food place and they have pool. so that is a huge plus.

This place is insanely packed, very small, and very loud. You cannot hold a conversation with anyone so that kind of sucks. However their bar is awesome to sit at… you kind of feel like a bad ass. Now in all fairness I never give low stars to a place based on the company they keep… because many of those at the sutter club are… not cool. But my rating is a representation about how I feel about the place when there is less crowding and more ability to speak with your friends. I also hate their jukebox, people can pay extra money to leap frog your song. Once my song was skipped 8 times in a row… i decided I’m out of here. HOWDAREYOUSKIPQUEENANDPLAYNIKIMINAJ!!! HOWDAREYOU! THEVERDICT: This is a nice place when it is less busy and you can converse with your friends. That does not always happen so that is kind of sad. Try it out, but this isn’t a GOTO place for me, its a sampler place. oh and one more thing… DONTYOUEVERSKIPQUEENAGAIN!

Classic dive bar. Delicious Jell-O shots, and an even better bartender(Sam). Love it here. Someone kept buying rounds of Jell-O shots for the regulars and us at the bar on an idle Tuesday night, good music, Felt like home.

Cold beer in a friendly(if a bit divey) place. I have dropped by here a few times during the afternoon and a few nights. I always have a pretty good time. Decent beer selection and they know how to make a drink. The bloody marys are especially tasty. It’s not a shiny club for sure. It is a little hole in the wall that is cool to hang at and play pool or perhaps dice. If this is what you are looking for it is good to go!

Awesome local bar. 8 taps, standard beers. About 80 bottles for liquor drinks. 20 bar stools. 30 high table seats. Pool table. Fun local croud. The bar tender Steve was great.

I haven’t been here many times because I have always thought of it as a smokey hole in the wall where cougars go to die. Either I got really old really fast, or they’ve really upped their game. My boyfriend and I came in here last night because, «Babe, if I knew we were going out, I would have re-done my eyeliner!» Essentially, I wanted to get a drink without being seen by anyone of importance. My goal was more or less met because there weren’t any club-rats – let’s just be real, I don’t care if I look a little less than perfect in front of anyone else. Anyways, this bar was full of pretty cool people with a serious side of BRO, but they were super-glued to the pool tables at their waists, anyway. The décor was pretty cute. The music was controlled by a music box, so it was okay as long as the bros didn’t get to close to it. The bathroom stall was a brainteaser where you figure out how to get your body inside with the door closed and then your derrière over the toilet hole without falling in, and then look up to posters offering to drive you home to make sure you don’t get raped. In other words, it was quite typical for a dive bar, but at least it was cleaned and stocked, which is actually sort of surprising. The bartenders were really friendly and attentive, and they had probably the best drink specials on Sutter Street. I personally went with a $ 2.50 Mike’s Limeade. It’s not the place to come if you want to dance and get really crazy, but it’s a nice place to come to just sit back and chat at the bar over a drink or two without having to shout at each other.

The Sutter Club is a piece of Folsom history. My grandfather, Norbert J. «Abe» Relvas, opened the Sutter Club on Sutter Street in Folsom in 1936, and owned the Sutter Gaslight Theater which opened in 1961. This is the bar the locals can hang out and actually talk to each other and be a part of the community. The original bar is still in the club and you get the feel of the old days.

Quality of Service: Excellent Drink of Choice: Blue Moon Environment: Loud, Dive Bar, Okay, so what makes this place so great? The Bartender. Most bars I’ve been too, its serve you, multi-task, and serve someone else. This bartender was super helpful, attentive and definitely engaged his customers, as well as introducing himself. I was with one of my guy friends and the bartender paid for us to play a round of pool. After a short period of time, some tipsy guy spilled half of my drink walking by. The bartender quickly picked up the mess, made another and comped my drink. Paid for a round of Pool, and comped out a drink. Who does that? People with Hospitality. Your Awesome! :) Tip? Heck Yes, I will. That’s real customer service.

The aroma of cigarettes and cheap beer saturate the air at this bar. I can appreciate a dive bar just as much as the next gal, but even so, this place has dived so far it’s in the ground. Not only does it get cramped, but the people that you are cramped up next to are not the most pleasant human specimens I have come across. All tables had debris such as cocktail straws and bottle caps. «Enter at your own risk» seems like an appropriate disclaimer.

Diver bar, yes, I got it. We decided to drop in after a few drinks at the Folsom Hotel. We walked in and immediately got mad dogged by the horrid thing behind the bar — WTF? The bar was lined with that group of totally in the bag, hope they are not driving, have not had a shower yet types — but hey that is OK, it could be me on any given day. I just can not stand the bar dice thing when they feel they have to slam the frigging cup down on the bar so hard it rattles your teeth. Bottom line was it cost them business, so out the door we went. They could at least try to do something with the men’s bathroom also, it is disgusting and reeks.

This place rocks! They have the best drink specials in town! Where else can you go and not have to deal with a DJ, live band, etc? The Sutter Club has a pool table, and a jukebox. Also the bar stools are super comfortable and there is a footrail at the bar to rest your feet. There are also hooks under the bar to conveniently place your purse. The busiest nights are Tuesday($ 2.50 Tall Cans and happy hour 9 – 11), Friday and Saturday. They feature all the games available and have directv and the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Its called a dive bar but its not. Very clean inside with a welcoming feel. Almost felt as if I am at home. Great happy hour and bartending staff. Busy at nights and the guy to girl ratio is amazing. The crowd has always been friendly and its a great place to meet people. I rate this as a place to stop and get a drink.

C’mon it’s a dive? They charge the extra dollar for charges to debit less than $ 10. Sheesh. A couple ok beers on tap, nothing special. A friend was trying to teach me to play liars dice and the old guy at the end of the bar wanted to play with us, we got him a set of dice… then he was asking how much we were playing for… uh buddy we play for fun. No money. The bathrooms are pretty trashy, out of soap… typical bar.

Nothing great about this place… this was the last stop for the group I came with since the other places were closing down. I had to use the restroom and sort of stepped into the men’s room. Some guy was still peeing… haha…he didn’t seem to mind. Had a drink… deep conversation with a chick and that was that. Met a few people, then it was time to go!

Yes it is a dive bar, and yes this is what a dive bar should be. Lets not try to turn it into Zocolo or Crush. Have to disagree with the ladies.. . the standout is a sunday Bloody Mary. Spicy, loaded with vege’s and the piece de resistance(if there is such a thing in a bloody) is the salty sweet pickled green bean! Perfect hangover recipe.

ahhhh Sutter Club is scary… if it weren’t for my fun group group of girls there to make me laugh I would have been outta there in no time! The girls that regular this place have a meaner mug on their face than a bull dog that just had his favie bone taken away. And its super bright in there so it makes them look scarier! yeesh!
