Definitely overrated and overpriced. The food is average and way too pricey for the taste.. The place looks dirty and needs a face lift . . As it was said in previous reviews; Not as good as I had hope it to be. They say everything is family style but the portions are fairly sized for two people. The ambiance is great and very spacious. The servers are awesome and attentive. I guess, the food just wasn’t up to par for us.

I was meeting some girlfriends for drinks & appetizers. I was first there & the bartender, Chris, was friendly, quick with the service. We ordered a dim sum sampler to snack on until third friend arrived. I think it was all frozen appetizers they cooked up. Nothing fresh about it. Seemed very processed. Third friend called that she was minutes away so I ordered her a drink to be ready when she arrived, then we were going to order more food. Chris must have gone on break after she arrived because he disappeared & no one asked us we wanted anything else(We were there for over an hour).(Empty mojito glass & you are drinking the melted ice and isn’t hint enough?) I finally had to do something I dislike which is call out to the last man standing behind the bar to get our check. Normally sitting at the bar ensures decent service. Not last night. Not sure the other guy’s name, but he is the reason we only tipped 15%.

Fats is our special treat when we just want something different. We have to eat Gluten Free, so it is really nice to be able to come here and know that we are safe. Our service has always been great. The tables aren’t always very clean, so that is why it is not a 5 star review.

The owner Kevin Fat contacted me and wanted my full name and address. I don’t think that is permitted. He also never apologized or tried to get my business back. Shame on you!!!

I needed a place for a solo business lunch. I came here becasue I wanted a salad with meat on it and they had that on their menu. The place reminded me A LOT of a PF Chang’s. The good: –All of the waitstaff were very, very friendly and attentive. –The beet salad with grilled chicken was REALLY good. It was huge, generous on the beets, and completely delicious. I could not have asked for a better salad. The not as good: –My table was excessively sticky — I mean the entire table top was sticky. It looked clean, but it was like somoene had sprayed the top with a sticky coating. –The floor at my table also had stuff on it — some kind of shiny liquid.

Fats is an established name in the Sacramento area. Usually the service here is excellent. Our waitress went on break immediately after we arrived. But she let us know her co-worker would be covering us… I hate when they do this, as if we made the mistake of choosing her table right before she went on break, perhaps the hostess should have put us at a table where the waiter or waitress was not about to go on break. As a result, the waiter covering did essentially that; barely covered; enough said. The food was above average for an Asian fusion place. The Shu Mei was my favorite dish they served. Overall this is a great place for lunch or where you bring a visiting parent to try. It is noisy and has a positive and festive feeling emanating from the busy bar area. Parking can be challenging here at peak hours. Also, Mr. Fats you might want to refinish your front entrance doorway; they are very worn and it looks a bit of a dive from the outside. Will be back for another shot at 5-stars in the future; 4-stars for now.

We really like the food at both Asian Bistros. My caregiver and I were near this location on Friday during Happy Hour. YUMMYMYFAVSWERE on the HAPPYHOURMENU. We Shared many appettizers including Lumpia. Honey Walnut Prawns, Sushi Roll Platter, ordered the Mongolian Baby Back Rib but got the beef dish instead. It was my caregiver’s firsy time at a Fat Restaurant she liked the beef — I have been here numerous times usually with my husband But we really frequent the Folsom location and often with our good friends but I always forget to check-in. I like the ambience & love the food at their Folsom location We went there a few weeks ago with our friends &LOVED their Easter Brunch YUMMY. Again we forget to check in on Unilocal but go there at least once a month. Their bar area is great if you have to live life in a wheelchair. Roseville not very ADA friendly.

This review is purely on my experience in the bar area. I haven’t sat in the main dining area yet, but the décor is beautiful. They have a great ambiance here and the whole place has a great design. Definitely recommend giving it a try! Back to the nitty gritty… I love their bar, but it can be incredibly competitive getting a table/counter seat. They have great happy hour options and their bar staff are always friendly and warm. However, some of the bar patrons can take away from the inviting feeling you’d hope to get at a restaurant of this caliber.(I know it has nothing to with the business, but it always blows my mind seeing grown adults throwing a fit over a barstool.) That being said I always feel like the wait pays off. Good food at a fair price with great service makes it all worth it.

Here’s a spot that’s Asian fusion with flare ! Beautiful surroundings and awesome bar make your visit here unique. Happy hour specials from 3 pm to 7 pm at the bar can make you afternoon pleasant. The bar is complete with almost every libation, beer wine and liquor. I’m having sake Horin. Dim Sum sampler is tasty and worth a try. I’ve been to many fusion places and have been somewhat disappointed, this is a pleasant experience. Service is fast and friendly here.

Restaurant RECOMMEND — Fat’s Asian Bistro, Folsom. Haven’t been here since going vegan fews years ago. First time back and just enjoyed fantastic lunch. Love this place. Numerous delicious vegetarian and vegan options on menu. Will definitely be back for dinner and celebrations. Waitress asked if we wanted prepared veggie or vegan — Nice.

They did away with the poke cups and have a poke /wakame concoction. Waaaay. Overdressed, overwhelmed with sesane oil… barely palatable. sad face Daytime bartender not wearing a happy face. One of my go to places, but lately im not feeling it. Sad to see the decline

What happened to Fat’s? It used to be so good. It’s sad when it seems the quality you pay for has gone down, especially in such an affluent area. I personally think they need to revise the menu and lower the prices after my last visit considering the quality of food and how much I paid. If you’re a fan of authentic Thai chicken satay, don’t order it here! Tasted nothing like real satay. Sauce, chicken, everything was off. I still have the chicken sitting in my fridge. It was this weird fried fatty chicken recipe that just was not good. Did not taste like chicken satay at all. I was hoping the peanut sauce would save it but I was wrong. I also had the vegetable tempura. It was kind of soggy and very bland. The service was OK, kind of snarky, lol. It was not very busy at all and we were still waiting around a good amount. Overall I was very disappointed and expected better for how much I was paying. Will not be coming here again or recommending it to others unless I’m invited to a dinner party or something or being by treated by friends…

Our first time here and it was just average and nothing hitting it out of the park. Potions were generous and we did family style. Food tasted fine but for some reason I expected more for the price. Honestly it was about like PF Chang’s or even a little less in regards to fast and quality. Only three of us went and we drank water shared one appetizer and the check out the door with tip was close to $ 90. Just seemed high for the food and experience.

This is my first time dining in at Fats. Whenever I go here I’m usually in a rush and opt for picking up the food to go. I got the same dish I got my previous visit here the Singapore noodles(extra spicy). This dish reminds me of pancit which is a Filipino dish. The food was great and our waitress was on point with filling up our beverages and checking in on us. I ordered some potstickers for an appetizer and they weren’t really too impressive they tasted like they came from Costco or something.

My co-workers and I went here for lunch(Note: we only get an hour lunch). We knew that we were in a time crunch so when our waiter came over and asked us for our drinks, we ordered right away. We all ordered the Singapore Laksa(at 12:10 pm). …40 minutes later… our waiter came to our table and said that they were putting the noodles in the bowl and then the broth. …10 minuter later… they finally came out with our food. By this time, we had no time to eat so we had asked them to pack it up for us. Our waiter apologized saying that they had to make the noodles from scratch because people don’t usually order that soup. 1) take it off your menu if its not selling 2) you should’ve have told us about this dish right from the beginning My co-workers and I ended up taking it back to the office and man, was it disappointing. The noodles were hard and it did not look like it was made from scratch. The broth was ok. This was not worth the $ 15 that I paid for. The only thing positive about this experience was the fortune cookie.

What a great experience! Haven’t had Fat’s in several years. Ordered calamari, Mongolian beef, Orange Chicken, fried rice and of course my glass of wine! Lots of Asian flavors and plenty of kick to go along. Had plenty to eat plus there was so much leftovers. Ordered for two but it seriously could have fed at least 4. Passed on dessert. It was about $ 75+ tip for dinner. Can’t come to often but I will enjoy it when I do!

Came here for a bachelorette party dinner and this place is top notch. The food, as always, was fantastic and we left nothing to be wasted! Very fresh and the flavor a we’re all amazing. I highly recommend the honey walnut shrimp or chicken and the garlic lo mein. Those two are definitely my favorites. Our waitress, Kristina, was phenomenal and super on top of it! I called to get her name today and was told she was given employee of the month, which doesn’t shock me at all. She asked right when I got there if she should get waters for everyone, she checked in with us and was very attentive without being overbearing, and one of the runners spilled some water and didn’t tell her about it so she was very apologetic and even comped us some banana cream pie. Not sure if it was because it was a special occasion or for the water spill but it was fantastic no matter the reason. Thank you for an awesome start to our night!

My wife and I love this place. We make the drive from Elk Grove at least once a month. The employees are all great. They are friendly and always take the time to ensure you have a great experience. The menu offers a lot of varying options. Oh and the plates are served family style and are Huge. The two of us could get by with two plates, but that is just boring Our favorite item is the Iron Point roll. It is a sushi roll that is out of this world. The fish is fresh and has an amazing sauce on it. The soup is good as well. They did just change the menu and they got rid of our favorite, but I still like the hot and sour. The honey walnut shrimp is delicious. The walnuts give it a much needed texture. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. I always add a bit of the chili sauce. We also get the fried rice or veggie chow mien. Both are great and you will not regret either. But remember white rice is free. And for the adults out there. You must try one of their cocktails. All are great. They are a little pricey, so make sure you have two to numb the pain.
