Great place to eat and relax! Food was fresh and well prepared. Drinks were good. I’m all about service though, and the service could not have been better! Jeff is knowledgeable about the menu, kind, friendly, professional, personable, I can’t say enough good things about him! The entire staff is all about making sure you have an enjoyable experience. Whether it’s changing an item, or a drink. They aim to please! You can’t go wrong with choosing this restaurant.

Great bar off center street. A little less crowded and love that they had heat lamps on the ceiling of the large deck bar. So many dogs! It was nice to see dogs when you’re missing yours at home. Got the Bloody Mary, frozen watermelon margarita and the local flight. All great!

Whatever you do don’t go there to watch sports. They can’t change the channel on the outside TV’s. I went there to watch football and they had all 4 outside TV’s on one game. Couldn’t put a single TV on the football game I was trying to watch. The staff was really rude and said they couldn’t put the game on and never explained why.

Very good scallops. Good service! Neat wine concept– ask about it. Apparently they carry all of the NFL tickets, so we were able to watch our team play from out of town. Dog friendly and very grateful for that too!

Great food and Jeff was awesome! Almost got a salad but decided on the fried flounder sandwich which was re intended by our waiter. It was amazing! And the black and blue burger with onion rings were delicious. Definitely a place to remember… ask for Jeff. One down side… plastic wine glasses…

Been going here for a while. Always great food and service is almost always outstanding. Great deck year round. Dog friendly is a plus. One disappointment that I would love to see fixed: the burgers have changed. They have gone from a plump, juicy, 8oz patty to Two 4oz patties that no matter how pink you beg them to cook it are dry and bland and can’t possibly be the same beef as before.(As I was told by my server) they used to have the best burgers too! Why change a good thing? These wimpy patties come on their same kaiser bun which looks and is quite awkward and it’s too much bread for those chintzy little patties. Boo! Otherwise, I freaking love the place.

This is was our first stop on the island. The variety of food was good and the taste was AMAZING! The food is a bit pricy but you will not be disappointed. I had the lobster bisque and it was delicious! My husband had a Mahi Mahi sandwich with a side of lobster mashed potatoes… yummy!!! I would absolutely suggest that you stop by and check it out.

While most Folly Beach restaurants are located on Center Street, Loggerhead’s Beach Grill is a couple blocks west, pretty much all by itself. It’s definitely worth the drive(or short walk from Center Street) though. Unlike almost every other business on Folly, they actually provide a parking lot with about six spaces(so don’t count on any being available) and several bike and golf cart spaces as well which is awesome. With a second story deck complete with a bar, lots of seating, and even an old VW truck, Loggerhead’s offers a really great beach town atmosphere. Because Loggerhead’s is on the second block back and there’s a large condominium building directly on the beach beyond, unfortunately views of the beach aren’t that good. The ambiance of Loggerhead’s definitely makes up for it though. The food is delicious and is priced comparitively low(generally hovering between $ 9 and $ 16). My family and I went there a few weeks ago for dinner and we all agreed the food was really good. I really liked the fish sandwich meal(with french fries). We all especially liked their Key Lime Pie and felt it was way better than any others that we can remember(save for the one we actually had in Key West once). If you’re into mixed drinks, I recommend the one with«Pear» in the title(can’t remember the full name right now). All in all, Loggerhead’s is one of those quintessential places that everyone should try to make it out to while on Folly sometime.

For year’s now, one week in July we find ourselves staying in a condo at the Ocean front villas down on Folly. Loggerhead’s is right across the street so I’ve been here tons of times. You can’t see the ocean or hear the waves from Loggerhead’s but you can always find good tunes being played by a local musician or band, or maybe even your friend doing their best impression of Madonna on Wednesday night during karaōke. Most night’s we’ve already eaten over at the condo so I haven’t had a ton of meals at Loggerhead’s but have munched on some grub a few times. Last night we grabbed an order of their onion rings and also an off the menu item in some buffalo shrimp.(Yeah I finally found an off the menu item in Charleston!!!) I tried a shrimp and it was really really good but I didn’t have an onion ring. Group consensus was that the onion rings are amazing though! Beer and liquor prices are not outrageous so you can have a good time and not break the bank.

Fantastic elevated patio right off the beach. Very reasonably priced w snow crab at 15/lb. Fun and relaxed atmosphere. Great food, drinks and service. Chelsea was a fantastic server and definitely have Alexia make you a mojito, one of the best I’ve had. On our second trip there we changed it up and dined inside. We enjoyed chips & salsa, fried crab cakes and the 2lb snow crab feast. All of which was amazing! Honestly the best place to eat on folly beach. Our experience would have been perfect except for that fact that we had to watch the bartenders and servers get into a yelling match about another customer who had left. It made us very uncomfortable so we decided to skip out early and grab dessert at another place.

This place is outstanding. Reasonably priced with a great, sports bar/beach feel. My wife and I sat inside as there was smoking on the patio. This wasn’t a problem and totally understandable for the vibe. We ordered the crab dip which was okay. The chips were a little stale but the dip was very tasty. We probably wouldn’t reorder it. My wife ordered the blackened scallops and shrimp and she absolutely loved it. I ordered the 2 lb crab leg platter since it was our last night at the beach and I wanted to go big before going home. They were great. Perfectly cooked, delicious, and huge. If we ever return to Folly Beach, we will most definitely return. Thanks for a great experience and making our last night great!

5 stars the last time 2 this time, that should make my average for this place at 3.5. I would say that 3 should be the standard for here. I like this place, I really do, and I will go back but there is something that just doesn’t click. With all of the people working here tonight, the crowd at a minimum, only two of us sitting at a table, we should never have an empty drink, right? This is Folly and you are not going to get spot on treatment for service. Everything is laid back with a slower pace in the air. If you want the best service then sit at the bar. The bartenders here stay on top of you and you will get great service and food. Why do I always wait for a table? Sorry for rambling. We saw the owner/manager leave tonight and I told my SO that there went our service for tonight and it did. No joke, I saw the guy walk down the steps and the staff started hanging out immediately. I guess if the cats away… We generally stay in Folly for 7 – 10 days, 3 times a year, and we will eat here at least 3 of the days each stay. The food is usually good but the service is all over the place. Hopefully we will hit it lucky later this week.

I had high expectations of this place after reading the reviews, but people must have some strange standards. A-ok is a bit generous, especially for what we spent on dinner for 10. Service was fast and friendly, but the food was just ok. Several of us ordered Manhattan clam chowder and commented that it tasted like it had ground beef in it with just a bit of clam added in. The calamari, flounder sandwich, crab cake sandwich, and pretty much everything else we ordered all tasted about the same, except that the calamari tasted more like overcooked rubber. I definitely expected better seafood being so close to the water. Overall, I’d rather have spent the same amount of money at the much better seafood place we ate at the next night.

Our last night in Folly, and my husband wants fried oysters. So we chose this place! We walked up to the deck and were seated immediately at a low top table near the bar, which was fine other than the giant heaters that were on. There was quite a bit of wind that night, maybe it was a little cool but those heaters were so hot! We asked the host if it would be alright to move and she was very polite and accommodating, telling us we could sit anywhere we liked. We chose a high top table outside away from the heat. Our service was really awesome. Everyone we came in contact with was very nice and checked on us appropriately. We started with the crab dip. It was good, a little too thick for the tortilla chips it came with(they kept breaking) but good nonetheless. My husband ordered the fried oysters. The serving was very generous and the oysters were very tasty. I had the fried crab cakes. I enjoyed every bite. This has nothing to do with the restaurant or the service, but the table next to us was awful. It made our entire dining experience terrible. Friendly staff and good food aside, the girls sitting next to us were loud, rude, and inappropriate. I’m no prude, but I would never speak that way(that loudly) at a restaurant. Overall, our meal wasn’t bad. It wasn’t amazing either. It was good. A little pricey, but still good. Definitely a young/party crowd so if that’s not your scene, I’d go elsewhere.

Your standard fried fish beach place. Three stars is really being generous If ya ask me! We didn’t see anything too special on the menu so we settled for the calamari and the cold crab dip– both just ok! With all of this said, I must say the drinks were great and the service was beyond helpful and kind!

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner here a few nights ago! It was the perfect spot off the main avenue to go and enjoy a good dinner with live music. The prices are very affordable and the customer service-outstanding! We were seated on the deck by the music, but it was not too loud at all. The fried seafood platter was to die for. We had scallops, shrimp, crab cake, flounder and oysters. We could have done without the crab cake as it was not the best. Our sides were chips(okay) and onion rings. The onion rings were perfectly fried! If I’m going unhealthy, I want it to be good. The happy hour drink specials were great. Our server was just right-funny, not overbearing. I highly recommend this spot!!! The best part – get there early and they have parking!
