Taste bad, ordered a sushi the rice was cold and hard. Blue crab fijita was too dry, they use scallion pancake to make that. Over all it is not as what I expected to be.

I ordered the Spicy Girl Roll and yellowtail jalapeño roll. Both tasted bomb, like I’m still thinking about it! Full warning though, don’t get the yellowtail jalapeño if you can’t handle the heat. I really liked the extensive menu and appreciated all the unique flavor combinations that I personally haven’t seen in too many other sushi places. Since we sat at the cool color changing bar, we watched the sushi chef make our food right in front of us. The chefs and servers were friendly and attentive the whole time. The restaurant itself was a bit perplexing, being located in a basement which can only be accessed by steep, dark stairs. But I guess that’s a part of the whole ~experience? I’ll come back just for that yellowtail jalapeño. And also the sashimi and tartare because treat yo self.

Is my favorite Japanese restaurant so far, the sashimi is so fresh, everything was so perfect and make you want to come back again !! Definitely going more often, and the price was acceptable

Normally I don’t care to comment on the ambience of a restaurant but this place was just plain shady looking. Sushi bar resembles kind of a sushi stand in a grocery store. Not very appetizing. We order a seaweed salad and an avocado salad; neither seemed that fresh. The sushi was decent, had the eel roll and I think dragon roll with salmon and scallops. Their only beer option is Sapporo. Although it was a decent meal, probably won’t be returning because the whole time I was there, I was questioning the quality of the ingredients.

Came here with my boyfriend for a late dinner after class. The spot was definitely easily missed because it is located in the basement, which doesn’t do the place any justice. We noticed that the place had a special’s menu, so we gave the tuna pizza a try. On top, we were really craving for sashimi, so we ordered a 12pc combo sashimi which was $ 15, a yellowtail jalapeño roll, a eel avocado roll, and a salmon avocado roll. While looking down the menu, I saw that they had the dynamite and this has always been one of my favorite dishes, so we ordered that as well. I can say that the pricing of everything were superb because we loved the quality of the sashimis. All in all, I’d say we will definitely be coming back again to try other items on the menu and look forward to yet another satisfying meal.

Excellent customer service and sushi. Went there last night for a birthday event and had an excellent time. Host and staff were very accommodating to our needs. Get the special! ‘Trust me’ you won’t regret it.

We give it a 3.5. We came here on a Saturday evening around 6:45 pm and there were few people here. We started with the house salad. It was a pretty decent sized salad with a ginger-flavored dressing. There were yellow cherry tomatoes that were really sweet and I enjoyed those. We ordered a Kani salad and decided to also try the eel tempura and the salmon skin rolls. The eel tempura was okay. I rather have a normal eel roll. The salmon skin roll was super crunchy(I could still feel the crunch right now) and flavorful. For the main course, we tried the seafood udon and the curry chicken katsu. The curry chicken katsu had crunchy skin on top. It was fair. A bit dry, but okay tasty. I prefer the curry I tasted at Go! Go! Curry! The boyfriend thought the seafood udon was decent. He liked the clams a lot, which were perfectly cooked. They weren’t chewy and didn’t have an unpleasant aftertaste. They were fresh. The shrimp were perfectly cooked as well– snappy. However, there were only three pieces of clams and shrimp… where were the other seafood? Not much variety and too little for the price. It didn’t appear to be seafood persay. All in all, we are full and content and the food was decent. Maybe next time, I’ll try the special sushi rolls.

Place is easily missed since it is in the basement but they do have a large sign outside. It was empty with 1 table of family when we arrived for Sunday dinner at 6:30pm. The menu looked interesting. We ordered the Volcano, the Yu Ramen and a roll that has shrimp tempura. Food was ok and pretty small portions. The two of us were not full when we left. Probably won’t return…

My friend and I came around 9pm and the place was dead. Literally empty and the only people were the employees. This location is located underground. It’s not hard to notice because they have a gigantic sign outside(same size as other stores) so you’re not gonna miss it. The man who served us was wonderful and kind. Even though most of the time he sat down to socialize with his co workers, it’s understandable since it was late(9pm) and there wasn’t any customers. He stopped by 1 time to ask us how things were. We ordered 10 pc sushi sashimi, 1 eel avocado roll, 1 salmon roll, and 1 salmon avocado roll. Everything was perfect and wonderful. Their sushi is comparable to every other NYC sushi locations. Nothing special, all the same. However their miso soup was outstanding! It was filled with flavor. At other sushi places, their miso soup taste like water. They did not have coffee on the menu and the man told us they don’t sell coffee, which disappointed me. I was craving for coffee. A few minutes later, he gave me a cup of coffee(light and sweet and it was perfect) for free. Such a nice guy. I guess he realized how tired and how much I was struggling to keep myself up. I recommend this place to groups(2 – 4 people). They offer bathrooms to customers to use as well.

Went here for dinner and we were the only customers. I guess it was kind of hidden since it’s located in the basement. We ordered Sushi and Sashimi for Two. Sushi and sashimi were good(sashimi were thicker than usual) but we didn’t enjoyed the rolls with the small crunchy things on top of it.

Perhaps one of the most memorable dining experiences for me. Originally, I would’ve given this place a 4 star for its setting/ambiance, but the staff showed me what was A+ for effort. I ordered the ‘Sushi Sandwich’ which seemed so appetizing on the picture in the menu, and it did not disappoint at all. It wasn’t really a burger but more like layers of sushi, rather than a roll of sushi. Very clever and very delicious. Two rolls of ‘Eel Avocado’ …c’mon, it’s a must when you go to a sushi bar! And a ‘Shrimp Tempura Roll’ which was mediocre. And a ‘Yellowtail Roll’ which was mediocre as well, but the fish was fresh. My personal favorite was the ‘Christmas Roll.’ First off, the presentation was BEAUTIFUL. It actually looked like something I want at my Christmas dinner table this year. It had crunchy spicy tuna and that was absolutely the bomb! Even better were slices of shrimp and avocado laying on top! The highly recommended ‘Sun Roll’ was good, but not as good as the Sushi Sandwich or the Christmas Roll. The Sun Roll had crab sticks topping it off and the crab sticks were refreshing and sweet. My family and I were still hungry but we couldn’t decide on which roll to order, the sushi chef was kind enough to make us a special custom roll, because my sister didn’t want anything raw or too spicy. The surprise roll turned out to be sooo gooood, thank you! Even a bigger thank you to the sushi chef when he overheard that it was my sister’s birthday, and surprised us with a sparkler candle on top of mochi ice-cream! They even dimmed the lights temporarily and played the happy birthday song on their stereo system. Will definitely be back! :)

LOVETHISPLACE!!! It’s very, very affordable for what you get. The sashimi/sushi in particular is amazing. Love the uni, which tastes fantastic, fresh, creamy, and has none of the funky car fume-like taste you often get with worse quality uni. The katsu curry is also massive and delicious, portions are definitely big enough for two people. The waitresses are really nice, attentive, and refill your tea often. The only bad thing about the menu I’ve tried so far are the regular rolls. They leave something to desired, probably to keep them at their low price point. The salmon roll is always chopped up salmon inside the roll, which I dislike, but at $ 3, I’ll take it. The eel tempura roll also always only has a sliver of an eel in it and is mostly vegetable. Still, prices can’t be beat and the fish is super fresh.

Had a very helpful man taking our order but a lousy waitress getting our check. The food was good; would highly recommend the chef’s special sandwiches which is basically salmon sushi sandwiches. Order it and you’ll find out. One thing that lowered the rating was that the ambiance was ruined due to a crying child near us throughout the night and his parents weren’t doing a thing to shut him up. Another thing that lowered the rating was because of the lousy waitress. We had to get her attention two times to get the check. Since she clearly had forgotten my table, we just went to the cash register to pay. The nice helpful man rang us up.

This place is pretty hidden in Flushing! Had a hard time looking for it but thanks to a fellow Unilocaler, my friend and I found it. It’s in the basement of a bar, nice décor, very spacious when it’s not busy! My friend and I went on a Sunday evening, the restaruant was not busy at all. We ordered few dishes to share. 1. Amy roll from their specialties. It was smaller than what I have imagine… Lol I thought since it was their«specialties» it would have been bigger. Pretty good, nothing outstanding about that roll. 2. Sashimi regular, it was really fresh !!! White tuna and salmon melts on your mouth! 3. House salad was good too, really fresh. 4. Dynamite was a total disappointment! Man it was sooo salty! Like extremely! I think the chef OD on soy sauce or salt ! $ 8/shell and I couldn’t even take a second bite. Knocked off one star for the salty scallop. Overall experience was great, the wait staff was wonderful! Our drinks were constantly being refilled!

I truly regret telling you about this place… because if I do, you will tell your friends and their friends… next thing u know this place will be mobbed.. Yes it is that good. let’s cut to the chase… the quality is exceptional for the price… This is Manhattan quality sushi and sashimi in queens… excellent service and unique offerings, I.e., Japanese sea cucumber, blowfish, Japanese hairy crab ‘kenagi’, baby scallops, generously portioned uni served on a soup spoon. BYOB is welcomed but make sure you share some with the sushi chef Jimmy… This is a great place to kick back, drink some sake and enjoy fresh seafood… Service: 5 stars… excellent Food: 6 stars … yes off the charts Ambience: 5 stars… comfortable…

Had it not been for seamless webs promotion of 15% I would have never found this place. Meaning I ordered by accident thinking it was another sushi place. This place is hidden and it’s in the basement. I’m giving it 4 stars based on my quick glance of the restaurant and the sushi rolls I received. I had spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and Cali rolls. I’d say it’s safe because I didn’t feel sick after(unlike another unnamed flushing sushi place) and my rolls were pretty good. They came with salad! If ever the chance to order again, I would certainly try to dine in. Parking is hard in this area… I was at a hydrant and ran down and back out.

Took my friend here for dinner. Initially difficult to find this place, as its located in the basement, next to a bar. But once we found it, we were seated right away; as we already had reservations. First impressions. With the blue glow of the background lighting, the place had the modern, trendy feel to it. Seats were comfortable, tables weren’t small. There was a television playing Food Network, which was appropriate I thought. loll Food was DELICIOUS. Fresh, well-made sushi/sashimi. My date and I ordered the $ 50 Yu Love Boat. 18 pieces of sushi, 25 pieces of sashimi and 2 house specialty rolls. And it came in a very cool, wooden boat. Presentation was very good and clean. Taste was pretty good too! Dessert, I ordered the mochi ice creams while she had the fried green tea ice cream tempura, as they ran out of the vanilla. Which was fine, we both devoured our desserts and enjoyed them immensely. Service was stellar. The waitresses were nice, confident and kept their distances and only approached when our glasses were half empty or when we needed something. They were friendly and professional. With such superb service, I gave them a generous 25% tip. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to any one of my friends. A must try, hidden gem in Flushing, Queens. :D
