This is my fav HK style diner spot(cha chan tang) The food is delicious and cheap. and they make the best french toast. The chinese style french toast has peanut butter sandwiched between two slices of bread. This is my go to spot for quick and easy HK style chinese food.

This review is for their breakfast! So this place is the go-to place if you’re in the neighborhood and want a quick HK styled breakfast. There are different set meals and the price varies, but it’s around $ 4 or a little more depending if you want to substitute things. The meal that I usually get is either macaroni or instant noodles(has a lot of MSG in this one) with soup with ham, 2 sunny side eggs, and a drink! I actually like their milk tea, so I get that, but the coffee here is mehhhh… I’ve also tried the oatmeal, condensed milk over toast, and the sandwiches which are also pretty solid!

A pretty decent spot for a quick bite. I feel like it’s your typical Chinese bakery type thing so the prices are around the same as other places except they have larger meals like rice and spaghetti. Their food isn’t bad and my family orders from here quite frequently for quick lunches, but I’d recommend you NOT getting their milk tea. It used to taste good but now it’s just bleh. It tastes very diluted to me and not worth spending $ 3 on. Other than that, it’s great for a quick bite to go

A Hong Kong style bakery that is conveniently located in the outskirts of Main Street, Flushing. One chilly Sunday morning, I was dropped off here pretty early in the morning to wait for the rest of my party to gather before our road trip. The breezy cold winds December weather makes this hot, toasty spot more inviting. This bakery opens up early at 7:00 am and lucky for me that I did not need to wait outside in the cold. Upon entry, my Cantonese language part of the brain was immediately activated. Staff members and customers are exchanging conversations in Cantonese and by the time I reached the cashier to order, my tongue was about to spit it out. I have been here a number of times for this is a popular meet up spot for my friends and I before travels. My favorite items here are the Condensed Milk Toast and breakfast combos. All childhood favorites, of course. Lunch items such as Beef Chow Fun or rice plates are available. Condensed Milk Toast is simply made with two hot toasts sandwiching the condensed milk in the middle. Tastes best when eaten right away. I would pair this with their Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. Breakfast combos are available from opening — 7:00 am to 11:00 am. All combos come with your choice of small drink free or iced or specialty drinks for extra charge. I normally go with Combo A which on the menu, it states, ‘Macaroni in Soup with your choice of meat(Ham, Franks, or Spam) and two eggs any style’. You may substitute macaroni with rice noodles, which I like to do! It is a simple breakfast item aiming to be more homemade-café style so I wouldn’t come in here expecting restaurant standards. Everything is very affordable here and it is an easy, quick take out spot. They accept orders over the phone too! It is always a very busy in here. Seats and tables are shared among different parties so expect people to sit down next to you when the restaurant gets busy. And don’t be shy to do the same!

this place has the best beef fried rice and beef chow fun. the macaroni and ham soup is quite good as well(traditional Hong kongnese breakfast). the assorted baked goods are decent but I wouldn’t come in just for the bread. I also like their bubble tea as well(one of the only places you can find bubble tea in the area actually).

My go to bakery/take out restaurant that I go almost every week! This restaurant accepts orders over the phone and gives you a number, which you can pick up instead of waiting over there! This is the one of the few that offers Hong Kong style milk tea that taste as almost authentic! The café needs a bit of updating but it is convenient, since it is only a block away from LIE and Main Street! The only bad thing is the lack of parking spots !

Be warned there might be a language barrier when ordering, sometimes it’s safer to point to what you want on the menu. People aren’t the friendliest here but it’s the typical Chinese bakery vibe, it’s you get in order get out. They have a variety of breads at average prices for flushing and a full menu of breakfast and lunch items. Their full menu is pretty cheap and actually tasty for what you’re paying for! I recommend the macaroni and ham soup($ 3) as well as the beef stew over rice($ 6.75)

You pay for what you get. If you are in a hurry, they can make your food in about 5 minutes. They have all day menu from 11am until closing time. They have breakfast menu from opening until 11am: noodles, french toasts, macaroni, eggs, etc. Overall they are cheap, convenient, and quick.

This is my go-to place if I’m looking for a quick and cheap bite to eat in the neighborhood. Some dishes that I recommend getting is the baked pork chop over rice, condensed milk toast, oatmeal(served during breakfast hours), and the honey lemon ice tea. You can never go wrong ordering those things really. Overall, this is a good place to check out if you are looking for a solid bite to eat on a schedule!

Tea place across from lake pavilion 4 stars: 4 stars for their fast service, comfort food, and low prices. Good place to go if you need a quick bite and in a hurry. The egg and spam sandwich, with the crust cut off just hits the spot for me. It sounds simple, but I can never get the eggs done the way they do! Also something about ordering it and having it warm and made for me for ~2.50 just feels like a simple pleasure in life. They also do baked dishes here for like $ 5-$ 6. I usually get the tomato pork chop with fried rice — yumm To top it off, I also order their Hong Kong style milk tea — which is super authentic :)

I had the Singapore Chow Mei Fun and it was pretty good. When I first ate it, there wasn’t much taste to it but as I kept eating it there was the spicy curry kickness that I was looking for. It was so addicting I couldn’t get enough of it.

If you want to skip the line, call in your order and then just pick it up. I choose to not dine-in because there usually isn’t enough seats or the tables are dirty/occupied with leftovers. The breakfast combos are simple but quite delicious in my opinion. I’m bummed out when I miss the time frame to get them. Definitely worth a try(I don’t think they’re that healthy though… I usually get the ramen).

This place is pretty good for a café, just an average café with less-than-average prices. The décor is typical Chinese café, with a few seats and a counter, housing all of their yummy bakery items. Their drinks are very good. I ordered a mango black bubble tea which was $ 3. The portion was very generous for the price and it tasted just like mango. The black tea base was nice, but next time I want it with a green tea base. The tapioca pearls are small, which was perfect, since I don’t like the massive tapioca pearls found at places like Vivi. Service was pretty good. Try this place if wanting an inexpensive lunch or a great drink.

This place is a bakery that offers a limited menu of HK style food. With that being said, don’t expect the cleanest tables since it’s not a «dine in» establishment. Also, do not expect excellent service from the young teenage boys working behind the counter. I was craving for baked Portuguese chicken over rice and found this place after a quick search on Unilocal.I didn’t walk in with high expectations which definitely contributed to why I felt the food was really good. The food really was though. I ordered the Portuguese chicken, baked ham over spaghetti with cream sauce, condensed milk toast, and two HK style milk teas and the total came out to $ 21.25 for two people. You even save on the tip since this is a bakery, not a restaurant where people actually serve you and refill your water, etc. Everything was delicious, and I loved that they used a thicker bread for the toast with condensed milk. The only reason this place is getting docked a star is the place does look quite filthy. It looks even filthier compared to the more modernized Canteen 88 down the block which is also a bakery who offers HK style food(which I shall try soon!).

The food on the menu is decent, but I really just come here for the borscht soup. I haven’t found another Hong Kong tea house that makes it like them since Wing Xin in Chinatown closed.

My friends and I usually hang out here after school. It’s a small place but the food is nice and cheap :) I usually order the creamy corn and chicken over rice. Except for breakfast, I order a ham and egg sandwich so I can eat on my way to class.

I really enjoy my meals here. The setting. This place is convenient located on Main Street, across a supermarket and has a fair amount of street parking. I come here often because I live fairly close to this place. As for the seating arrangement, there are a few tables and chairs and can probably accommodate for 16 people sitting down. Each table can only fit 4 people, so if you have more people than that and need a place to eat and hangout, this would not be the right place for you. Some people might sit here for hours at a time, even though they have no food or drinks in front of them. The food. I highly suggest the meat sauce with spaghetti. You can never go wrong with that, they’ll ask if you want an egg with that. For those that don’t like anything raw, I suggest not getting the egg because they make it over easy and the yolk is still very raw. I like it though, but this is just a heads up for those that prefer no raw stuff. Another great menu item is satay beef with instant noodles, but I would only suggest it if you’re not super hungry, if you are, you’ll definitely have to order 2. There are numerous items that are good and cheap. I have yet to try out the whole menu, that is a challenge I’ll eventually complete.

This is where I go to get my fix of spam and instant noodles. I know it’s not very healthy to be eating instant noodles in the morning, but I cannot resist ordering it whenever I’m near here! They over sweeten their hot drinks like coffee or tea, so it’s better to ask for less sugar. I really want to try some of their other foods, but I just can’t get past the instant noodles! Maybe one day… I will get around to eating something else here.

I only come here for breakfast and I think it’s not bad. It’s not the best but it’s good for the price and it’s close by. They should add few more breakfast combos. Also, the ham on the macaroni soup is like a joke.

My go to spot when I want some HK style milk tea, HK style breakfast, HK style noodles. Place is legit and consistent every time. Prices remains pretty cheap. Next to the bus station from Flushing. Place may get crowded fast, so expect to either take your stuff to go or share a table with a total stranger. Most people are nice, so don’t be afriad to ask to sit in a random table, chances are that person probably did the same before you sat down. Top Recommendations: Any of their macaroni in soup Any of their noodles Any of their buns and sandwiches Any of their drinks cold or hot. …Yea I basically recommended everything. This place is good.
