On Father’s Day, we had a late brunch at 1pm. Our party of 4 was seated immediately! What a great turnover rate! In case you have to wait, there are sofas by the entrance for you to sit while you wait. The food offerings are standard compared to other dimsum places. Chicken feet– tastes on par with other places. Shrimp paste w/corn patty– tasted like fish paste with a few pieces of corn, it was decent but I wouldn’t order it again. Fried tiny fishes– sadly it was cold and no longer crispy when I got it. I was soo looking forward to this dish because it’s my fav dish to order. Was totally not expecting the $ 16 price tag on that medium plate of fried fishes. Black pepper and salt beef ribs– it was really tough to eat. The pepper taste was super strong so it’s a good dish to order for people who like their black pepper. Red bean jelly and mango jelly– the mango jelly tasted exactly like the large red and green mangos that are in season right now. The décor is really pretty though. It would be a nice place to have a special event like a wedding or something. There seem to be an endless plethora of chandeliers all over the restaurant.

I’ve been here twice, both for wedding banquets. If the rating was purely for the banquet, this would be four stars. Seeing the other comments and normal menu items, I have not had any of those so I do not have any comments for those(plus tagged as dimsum on Unilocal) thus three stars. I do not remember much about service the first time(over two years ago), perhaps I am just used to service in Chinese restaurants. I do remember that the food was good. This time around, I thought the service was good although we were not a demanding group. They brought the large dishes, then served it to each individual. This was really helpful as most people are usually busy talking so this helped move the food along. Lamb chops was probably my favorite, because it was not a common dish you can find at any Chinese restaurant. The bass was also kind of unique(for me) and really good except one tiny thing which I cannot place. It think it may have been slightly overcooked. Lobster dish, honey walnut shrimp dish, typical veggie dishes were also good. Abalone was pretty good. There were several other dishes that I cannot recall or translate. Provided that there were over 20 tables of about 10 people, the restaurant managed a good pace with the food. One negative thing about this venue is the parking. The garage downstairs closes at 11pm, so most of the party was gone by 10:30 — 10:45. Perhaps, I’ll return one day for the dim sum. It is a little far out of my way so it might be some time till then.

My friend wanted to try«authentic dim sum» so I decided to take her here. The dimsum here is decent, nothing too special though the service isn’t as great. I tried to hail down a waiter/waitress a couple of times either for iced water or condiments but was promptly ignored. Getting the check was even harder. There is a $ 30 minimum for card, so be prepared to have cash just in case. My friend and I tried a total of 5 different things, and our bill came up to around $ 25 which was kinda pricey considering the amount of food they gave us. It’s a pretty big place with a lot of seats but they really need to work on their service.

We were seated immediately but the wait time for the food carts to come to us was kind of ridiculous. There were literally only two carts rolling around when we came at 9:30. We waited and waited and finally 30 mins later more stuff came out of the kitchen. Waitstaff was not very attentive. Every time we asked them a question they’d disappear and never come back with a response. The food isn’t bad but it’s also not amazing. We wanted the fried taro balls but after being here for an hour, it’s still a no show. We were both pretty upset that we ate two dishes with shrimp and nothing new was coming out. The good thing is that we were seated near the kitchen so whenever something rolled out, we signaled them to come over to our table. I would suggest coming closer to 10am because that’s when food apparently comes out. As for service, I’m not sure if I would come back. May have to find a new dim sum spot since they recently changed their name to this one.

4 stars for food, 3 stars for the environment and service. The dimsum was pretty good despite the fact that the dry skin on a few dumpling dishes from sitting out too long. The prices were cheap(about $ 22 for 5 dishes off the dimsum carts), but towards the end of our meal at our seat in the far end corner of the restaurant, I could smell smoke coming from the corner(most likely an employee sneaking a smoke). The servers there are also very curt and spare no niceties, but this is something I’ve come to expect from HK restaurants and servers. They also don’t bring you condiments unless you ask for them, but most people use the condiments, which leads me to believe they’re just lazy in terms of their service. Tip: cash only for bills under $ 30.

This review is solely based on the waitress we encountered today. She is by far the nastiest and rudest waitress in our dining experience. She first got our order wrong, didn’t bother apologizing, BUTINSTEADLITERALLYSCREAMEDATUS for the mistaken order. When we were paying for our bill at the cashier, we realized the bill was unusually high and wondered if we were actually overcharged. Apparently two of us only had 6 dim sum dishes altogether, but we were charged for 7. We asked the same waitress why we were overcharged and she rolled her eyes on me like we didn’t have the money to pay for the bill or something? We went through 10 mins of useless explaining and I thought whatever, let’s just pay the bill and get the hell out of here. So we paid the bill, left the waitress a tip, and THAT’S when she demanded in the most ugly tone that we’d have to pay mandatory 15% for her service. Like is this woman insane? Treated us like dirt, overcharged us and now demanding for more tip?! I’ve had enough with this insane woman so I asked for her name tag which was MAYHONG and told her never will I return back here, to which she replied«I don’t give a crap». WOW I do not understand how this woman landed a job with an attitude like that. I complained about her to the manager on the way out and that’s how she ruined our dining experience here. I would love to give this place a higher rating because the food wasn’t bad at all, but definitely isn’t worth it with the horrible service.

I came here for a wedding banquet and only checked the reviews after I RSVPed yes. Needless to say, I was extremely wary of the food and was even debating eating before going to the banquet! But I was pleasantly surprised with the food. It wasn’t amazingly delicious, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. We were served the typical 15 courses of a Chinese banquet: –Sashimi –Roast pork with crab leg, beef shank, and jellyfish –Lobster salad –Steamed prawns –Soup –Abalone –Lamb chops –Sea bass –Steak –Egg noodles –Sweet rice I missed a few… too many to name The sashimi was the best part of the banquet. Followed by the prawns, abalone, and sea bass. By the time the lamb chops were served, I was so full. The steak was tough. I didn’t eat any of the noodles. Sweet rice was good Judging from the previous reviews, I guess this place isn’t really somewhere you want to go for dim sum, especially when there’s an awesome food court below. As a banquet venue, it was fine. Not necessarily somewhere I would recommend to have a wedding because the waitstaff was awful. Not only were they rude, but they totally messed up the menu serving the dishes in a random order. Nonetheless if I was invited to another banquet here, I would go.

This is my first time here. I find it expensive for the price. I also was stuffed with shrimp hargow and shrimp roll and mango pudding and just the long spring roll and softbean curd because the carts thats roaming in our table passed 4 – 5 times. I thought there are more foods in this place. I only saw some new carts passed by my table after i finished paying.

I was pleasantly surprised by the dim sum dishes despite the negative reviews on Unilocal. I got there around 11:30am on a weekend and the line was already pretty formidable. We got seated fairly quickly and immediately we got a continuous stream of dim sum carts offering a good variety of goodies. I thought the quality was decent and it tasted pretty good /authentic as compare to the NYC Chinatown. By the time we finished, the waiting area was packed like sardines. I would think that this establishment would not get a line like that if it is bad. I would return and recommend to anyone.

C! As in a C mother…, C(anyone get the«Do the right thing reference here?!») Anyway, I was horrified by the bright orange«C» that besieged me as I stepped off the elevator … but whatever, I thought, my parents were just here on Friday night attending a «1480» special dinner party and they were RAVING about the new management. As long as they weren’t making their dumplings behind a dirty, rat infested alleyway, we’re all good… right? Considering we were a party of 15, we were seated pretty quickly(2 tables…2pm). The dim sum carts were still going strong and I was keenly on the look out for fresh egg tarts. I was told by one, two, three ladies that they would«be coming soon.» And then I was told that they wouldn’t be… but that I could wait 30 minutes … sure, no, wait, their oven was now broken(I think I saw someone’s nose growing)… it would be too much trouble … it wasn’t until I flagged someone else down who was nice enough to put the order in for me and in under 30 minutes, four plates of fresh, hot egg tarts! That was the highlight of the meal! They were hot and still oozing of egg custard. All of the other dim sum food was underwhelming and just not very good. We did order an egg-white fried rice special and it was delish too. But 9 hours later and my mouth is still dry and I am feeling bloated … what was in this dim sum? Otherwise, a lovely, spacious venue.

I’m surprised at the previous reviews, I always have a great experience when I come here. It’s all about having eagle eyes to spot the dishes that you are looking to eat. I love the pai gu with pumpkin, and shrimp dumpling with spicy mayo and roe.

Ehhhh super lackluster dim sum experience here. FIRST, don’t park in the garage downstairs in CNY unless you want to have an aneurysm. This isn’t incorporated in the rating of the restaurant, just a fair warning. My top choice of dim sum in Flushing is usually Jade Asian but we thought we would switch it up and try a new place. Came here the weekend of CNY and while it was packed, there was no wait. Now we know why. Ordered the normal selection of dim sum: spareribs, chicken feet, shrimp in rice roll, chive dumplings, shrimp dumplings, taro cake, etc. Along with that we got some large plates of clams in black bean sauce and snails. Overall super disappointed. The dishes just had no flavor to them, the spareribs were bland and the chive dumplings didn’t even taste like chives. The taro cakes were nuked to the point that they were inedible. And the clams and snails, while they had good flavor, were mostly cold. The savory dishes were all a bummer. The desserts we got were the black sesame balls and custard buns, which were both good at least. We gave this place a shot and I won’t be back for dim sum. Disappointing because the space is nicer and newer than most banquet places but the food just doesn’t match.

My boyfriend & I came to Royal Queen for a wedding banquet dinner and it was truly beautiful and the food was absolutely divine! Before the reception, there was an assortment of dim sum for everyone to eat while waiting and also the bartender knew how to make the drinks. The dinner and reception was extravagant and the presentation of the food was beautiful. There was a lot of dishes, but these were the only ones I actually had photos/description of — Sashimi Platter — I didn’t eat this because I don’t eat sashimi, but everything looked perfectly sliced and plated and there was an array of fish and seafood. Lobster salad with mixed melons — I really like the lobster mayonnaise salad at most Asian restaurants, but this was slightly different. There were lobster shells plated on the plate with the flesh still intact and mayonnaise on it. It was beautifully plated. Steamed Dungeness Crab — This was another seafood dish we had. The steamed dungeness crab was steamed perfectly. The meat was cooked just right, moist, and just melted in my mouth. Abalone with Chinese Vegetable — This was an interesting dish. The abalone was very fresh and tasty as well as the sauce. Bird’s nest soup — This was really the real thing and warm, hearty, and delicious! Overall, the wedding banquet dinner at Royal Queen was excellent! Food quality was amazing! Service was on point as well!

The dim sum selections and service here really is just awful! I saw the same four carts coming around, maybe five but it was the same selections going over and over. If there were more dishes then I was seated in a section that was often overlooked. The staff isn’t hospitable either. No one is particularly friendly, approachable or informative in any manner. I would say go to Jade Asian restaurant for a bigger selection, more carts or if you know what you want and prefer the made to order experience check out Sunway. ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* To the management, This place was very upsetting because there’s no reason for it to be! Treat your customers like guests by being hospital, informative, CARE about your customers enough so they get a full experience! I’m not asking for anything FREE or to be treated SPECIAL, make sure I have a FULLEXPERIENCE from you and your staff. You are capable, you just don’t do it! Suggestion: Tell your waiters to look for customers that seem bored and ask them what’s the matter? Is it because what they want isn’t coming? Is it because they don’t know they have to special order certain dishes? That alone would make this a 4 star review.

I enjoyed my visit with my husband this afternoon. We were seated almost immediately which is kind of unheard of at dim sum on a Sunday. But I wasn’t going to jinx it. We were only a party of 2 but I was glad we didn’t have to share a table! Sometimes it gets awkward. We were put in a corner near a window and I was worried we wouldn’t get any cart action but I was surprised to see how much food came to us! We sampled many variations of dumplings, my favorite being har gow, and other delicious things. I was crazy over these banana and red bean puffs I’d never had before and I really enjoyed them. The flaky baked pork buns were some of the best I’ve ever had. The service was decent and we only had to get up once to find some things we wanted. I’ll definitely be back!

Why do I feel like I’ve reviewed this restaurant like 10 times? They keep changing the name. It used to be Grand Restaurant(my review here: ), and it’s still a solid 3 star affair. Most of their dim sum is pretty bland. I’ve never seen tripe look so white. The vermicelli with squid noodles lacked any hint of salt. But I will say I liked their innards with curry fishballs. Added a nice flavor layer. Their chicken feet is okay, but not the greatest. And things are relatively expensive here. Almost twice the price of a similar meal in Brooklyn. Still cheap by NY standards though. Luckily, they take credit cards, but unluckily, they don’t take American Express. Oh well.

Came here for dimsum with the family today for my moms birthday and it was the worse place ever. no where to stand without getting hit because it’s super crowded and that stupid window on top of the ceiling lets the sun rays come in and hit you in the face and make you hot along with the heat from the crowd and carts they push. my bf was standing by the station with all the utensils and plates with my 6 month old daughter and the waiters just push him to get new plates for customers. so rude! also you better make sure your whole party is there at the table when they seat you or else they will kick you off the table. we had 4 adults and two kids. they showed us to the table so I went with my mom and niece but my father went to the restroom while my bf and my daughter bumped into a friend and was talking to them. i left the table with my niece to get everyone so it looked like my mother was the only one at the table. as I was walking back the chubby guy with glasses with a button down and head seat was telling my mom to get up and I was so furious. I yelled at them saying people can’t go to the bathroom?! they even saw me and my niece with my mom before I left and yet they were being douchebags. about the food, it sucked. we were waiting 40 minutes for siew mai and ha gao! we had to ask a waitress to see if she can help us bring it over. mind you this was the 2nd time asking her. also the carts that kept coming by were the same food that no one eats?! they had 3 carts with the same POS food! when we finally saw a cart with food we wanted and hailed the lady over she gave us a stank face and passed us to go to the tables next to us. what is wrong with people and the service here?! it’s like we owe them for working. ridiculous. never again and never will recommend this place for ANYTHING.
