One star: the store is clean, price is fair! The food is good generally, but I want to remind you guys– don’t get fooled by the pictures in the menu! What you see on the menu may NOT be what they would give you eventually! Worse, they would NOT even tell you when you are ordering!!! My first two visits were excellent. Unfortunately, things changed a week ago when I went there for the third time. I saw the picture of Sushi A with salmon roll, eight pieces of sushi with eight types of seafood, and two pieces of tamago. I thought it looked good so I ordered it. Sadly, once the waiter handed me the meal, it’s «California roll» instead of salmon roll, tamago was missing, and there were only six types of seafood! Well, if it’s like that, then it should worth much less than the original price! I complained to a waiter, then do you know she said? «Sometimes we may change. It’s not always the same as the pictures on the menu.» When I said«you need to inform me before I order,» she said«ok. Next time I will remember your face. I will know you don’t like California roll, so I am not going to give you California roll.» So here is the point: does she mean she is not going to cheat on me again, but will do so to other customers instead? .It’s really ridiculous! In order to make this up, they made me a tuna roll with no extra charge(but not salmon roll), which made me a bit happier. However, I still saw this as a form of dishonesty(or I can say– cheating) and was very disappointed. I do NOT want to come here again!

This place is amazing. The service is top notch and very friendly, and the food is so delicious. The side dishes that we got with the assorted sashimi platter was so good. I just landed from Chicago and my dad recommended a different restaurant on the block but we were discouraged by the B health rating, but saw this restaurant had a shiny A rating, went inside, and had some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Super fresh. Thank you for feeding me, Red Sea!

We heard a good thing abut this place, and finally tried for the first time today. We ordered Omakase(chef’s choice) at Sushi bar, and it was as good as it gets for $ 60/person! It is located in middle of Korean neighborhood, so the way sashimi was presented was not typically Japanese(a lot!, so it is a good thing), but the flavor and choice of fish was pretty authentic Japanese. Sushi was properly portioned, the way I like it. It is not too huge like many sushi restaurants, whose customers are mainly non-Japanese. Given the quality and quantity of food you get, $ 60 is really a steal! We will definitely be back! Highly recommended for sushi lovers!

An awful experience that was minimally improved by the service. The appetizer: The porridge served was not only cold, but also had that weird about-to-go-sour taste to it. The entrée: For $ 100, my family and I expected the sashimi to be fresh, firm, and cool. Instead, we got soggy leftovers that left us praying for protection against food poisoning. When we complained about the terrible food, the owner of the restaurant tried to make it up to us by preparing new bowls of porridge and providing us with two free rolls(california and salmon/mango). Both were much fresher than the original dishes. But get this. Just as our moods were improving, the owner’s pet chihuahua escaped from its cage and started running around the restaurant! At one point, it nestled in between our feet at the bottom of our table while the waitress frantically called its name. Really surreal and also pretty gross. Tip to the owner: keep your pet at HOME. Other than the food, the service was good, as the staff was attentive to our needs and complaints. Would have added another star, but the dog is unforgivable.

So got take out, the people were very friendly and respectful. Atmosphere was nice clean and welcoming. I ordered 4 things Flying fish roe Shrimp tempura roll Toro Raw Scallop The scallop and flying fish roe were fresh. But the shrimp and toro the most expensive things totaling 20.00 for only a few pieces were horrible. The toro or tuna belly should have three different layers in each piece. Theese people had the cheap cut and charged as if it was top quality. The worst part it was old, at least 5 – 6 days. The shrimp was old as well and tasted like it was cooked and re heated. Unsatisfactory to say the least. How could you mess up something so simple is beyond me. Overall I would avoid going to this wanna be, bootleg, bs excuse for a sushi restaurant. Don’t they realize people could get sick from such things? Honestly better off getting anything else in the area.

Came here to order takeout last night. I’ve always felt that you can tell a lot about a sushi place by the way they prepare their chirashi. Let me tell you, this place made an amazing chirashi! The varied selection of sashimi and the quality of it. Outstanding! Chirashi is left to the discretion of the sushi chef to put whatever fish he/she wants on the bed of sushi rice. Good chirashi will feature some of the best selections the restaurant has available that day. This one had mackerel, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, squid, surf clam, sea squirt, fluke, salmon roe, tamago, white tuna, and assorted pickles. Very fresh! Excellent quality and no skimping! Will definitely bring the family to dine in.

Had to give others the heads up. If your ordering the«live fish» chefs choice(to me that means chefs choice of raw fish Assorted, as in omakase). but… Here it means. U get ALL fluke. Yea. Like 10 mounds of fluke… Wtf? They said it is a Korean thing when I asked the waiter… He said if I wanted different types of fish I had to order the assorted fish, but I told him to me. Chefs choice ISTHE omakase and it means assorted chef choice fish. Guess its his restaurant so his rules… It was fresh, clean. But I paid 125bucks to get fluked to death! They are also big on broiled snails here. They give a bunch of free apps with them in there… Yuk!

My wife and I had driven by this place a few times since it opened and were curious to try it. Definitely the freshest sushi we’ve had in the area. Even better than Kyoto on Union. Décor is clean and simple. Staff were attentive. Price was about what you would expect for good sushi. Ended up spending $ 50 for 2 entrees and a beer. Looks like they have some good deals for larger parties. They also do shellfish including raw oysters at $ 8/half doz. Don’t see that much around here.

Came here twice and definitely the freshest sashimi in flushing, hands down! We were a party of three, so we got the $ 100 combo. It came with so many yummy sides we couldn’t finish it. Great service! We were also allowed to opt for certain types of sashimi in our combo :) I would highly recommend, if you’re in the area!

Have gone there twice. Good, attentive service. The food is good — I got sashimi, then sushi/sashimi combo. The salmon roll was very good. As was the mackerel, yellowtail etc. The only negative was one of the appetizers came after the main course was served. Overall a good experience.

Been here twice and both times i was satisfied with the food. I absolutely hate it when sushi restaurants roll up their rice real hard that you have to give it a good few minutes to chew but this restaurant has some decent sushi makers and i was very happy about it. Price is decent, nice staff and clean place.

A recently established business, it seemed pretty quiet from the outside. Once inside I saw how decently filled the restaurant. For the most part, the interior is clean, and nicely spaced. Food — For dinner between four people, we ordered: — Live Sashimi(for 2 Person) — Only rockfish is served for this course — really fresh and good — Chef’s Seafood Steamed Combination Regular — According to the online menu, it was supposed to contain Clam, Mussel, Snow Crab, and Snail; however, they seemed to have forgotten the snail on last nights menu. They do serve ‘side plates’, which Korean sashimi restaurants are well-known for doing. However, compared to other Pa Do Hwe Jip, it wasn’t as much as I thought. In the end, they gave us free dessert. Their own version of a smoothie/ice cream. I did’t ask what was in it, but I could taste the pineapple and mint, which was refreshing.
