I was very pleased with my haircut. She immediately pointed out the uneven layers of my hair which I didnt even notice until she said that.(btw that mistake was from kpop star hair salon). Michelle tried her best on cutting my hair by fixing the layers as much as she could, and because of her amazing effort my hair felt smooth and light when she finished. Michelle also gives humble suggestions to the type of hairstyle that could suit me as she went along in cutting my hair.

I grew up going to this salon and it’s sad that I won’t be returning. Princess gives average to great haircuts, that’s for sure. However I realized that the owner(who does most customer’s hair) literally has no expertise whatsoever in dying/coloring hair. I went in today showing a number of pictures of the hair color I wanted, but her first reaction was to scoff and totally discourage my wish. The other Unilocal reviews pointing out her rudeness is totally true. My hair is dark brown(Asain hair) and I wanted it ash brown/light brown. She constantly insisted that only white clients can pull off this color and that it would be very difficult because I would first have to bleach and then dye my hair. I was open to the idea, but her attitude totally discouraged me… she definitely put my mood down, so I followed her suggestion to just one dye session. After the session, I realized she had used bleach. That means I could’ve gone with the bleaching then dying to ash brown to get the hair i exactly wanted. Instead, my hair was yellow and bright orange. it was evidently yellow tone and NOTHINGATALL like the picture I showed She and her assistant found nothing wrong with my hair, arguing that Asian hair was bound to turn out this color. Then she pointed to which colors she used which were bright blonde yellow mixed with a ginger-tone brown. She totally did not even consider my wishes and did whatever she wanted. I hated it, with a passion. My mother came in and saw my disgust. That is when she asked if I wanted a second dye. I clearly pointed out I wanted the ash brown color, and showed her not once, but three times the example I wanted from her hair book(that has real, dyed hair samples in them). With some relief, I patiently waited as she applied the second dye. My hair came nothing at all close to what I pointed out, and I saw in her face expression she also knew this. However she spewed out some bs, constantly insisting that there was a dramatic change. She hesitated, and I heard every lie that uttered out of her mouth. My hair the second time was even more damaged and looked horrible. The color looked so unnatural as she used a green dye, which I understand it was used to lessen the red/yellow tones. However, my hair is still a ugly ginger/yellow/brown shade. She knew I was very unhappy but she didn’t seem to want to help me out any further. Upon walking in, she charged $ 80 but because I requested the second dye to fix HEROWN mistake, by the end she charged an extra $ 80. She wanted to seem modest so she gave us a mere $ 30 discount, therefore a whopping $ 130 for this disgusting shade of orange and brown. Since I was very young I’ve gone to Princess but I definitely will never trust her for dying my hair again. 1 star for my long history of going to this salon.

I am so skeptical whenever I go to a hair salon… especially when it’s a bit far away from my comfort zone(Manhattan). However, my cousin recommended me this place; the price was so affordable and the stylist(Michelle) is really careful. Throughout the process, she would ask me if I wanted it «this or that way» and I chimed in what I wanted and what I didn’t want. At the end, the results were pretty great. My thick, healthy, long, but boring hair was transformed into a very fresh, clean, and stylish-look. I would definitely recommend this place for those who have straight, boring-looking hair. I won’t pay the usual $ 70 – 90 haircut anymore ;)

Michelle is my hair stylist at the Princess Beauty Salon. She cuts my hair to give it shape and lightness. I also have been getting hair coating, which is a hair treatment that gives hair protection and shine and also gives semi-permanent color to cover my grey hair. I highly recommend Michelle; she gives me honest opinion and I trust her. I’ve been getting my hair done by Michelle for the past four years. Very happy I found her!

Agree, very disappointing. Was looking for a new place to go for pedicures with my mom(I wanted a manicure, too) and I thought we’d try this place. Big mistake. Rude, unprofessional staff, everything you do not want in a salon/spa experience. Will never go back, and do not recommend to anyone. There are so many salons in the neighborhood, there’s no reason to go here. I do wonder how they’ve been around 10 years.

very disappointing. The hairdresser was very rude… She was complaining that my hair takes longer than others’ I liked the style, BUT I will never ever go there. again only 2 hairdressers were there. so pretty busy and crowded.

I don’t usually get satisfied when I walk out of a beauty salon because I have a lot of hair that looks frizzy and it’s pretty tricky to treat my hair without damaging it. I’ve had so many failures so I had to always put my hair up and make a bun. The hairdressers at the Princess Salon done a great job on my haircut & digital wave perm. It’s been a few days after the treatment and I can finally put my hair down without worrying too much. In fact I feel pretty with my hair down now. Their prices were fairly reasonable and most of all my hair looks fantastic now. I would recommend it to anyone !
