New Age Market

Please make sure to check the expiration date!!! Two of my items were expired and some of their meat and fish are not fresh! I will never shop there!!!

Since I’ve been in the neighborhood, this is the 3^rd attempt to make this Chinese supermarket concept work. Good luck. I really like their gourmet pastries/​deli counter in the front. Must try their puff pasties, i.e. pistachio croissants. The ladies in the counter are friendly. Their meat selection is vast and fresh and their prices are amazing. Their vegetable and fruits are not the freshest, but better in price and quality than an American supermarket.

I was a bit apprehensive when my cousin first suggested we go to New Age Market for groceries. I’ve only ever been to H-​Mart for my Korean food needs and Waldbaums or Trader Joes for my American stuff so I wasn’t sure what to expect venturing into unknown territory.
I doubt I really had much of a choice, though, as she was the one driving. But I trust her judgment more than most people, so I was happy to oblige. And true to form, she was on point about this place.
Their produce was extremely fresh, the shelves were well stocked with all sorts of Asian products, from Thai curries, to Japanese soba noodles, to Korean kimchi and Chinese eggplants! I was pretty impressed by the variety of food products they had for sale.
What really knocked my socks off, however, were their assortment of vegetarian sauces. They had so many, I never realized these things even existed! I bought sauces I don’t even know how to use, like ponzu and hoisin, just because it’s vegetarian! Amazing!
Now I’ll need to go buy some cookbooks, to actually utilize these things but I’m so glad that people like me can actually flavor their foods, Asian style! (^^v)

I ate something and got sick. Very disappointed. Employees are a little rude but there was one nice lady who helped me.

Encouraged by the 3 glowing reviews, I decided to check this place out. The original vision may have been for a premium Asian supermarket, but the only remaining evidence of that is the ‘fancy’ green signage. The view from the car park is nice enough, but the already rusting shopping carts and the old styrofoam boxes that welcome you from the seafood department are a rude reality check.
There is nothing here that separates this from your run-​of-​the-​mill Chinese supermarket. No unique selection or higher quality meats or seafood – just the typical underpaid demoralized staff. In fact I would say the place is a little smaller than average, so they offer fewer choices. Judging by what they charge for rice, prices seem to be the same or a little higher.
To their credit, they do clean their floor with one of those commercial machines, but a dingy grey is already starting to form in the many corners that it can’t reach.
I didn’t try their bakery because it was near closing time and they were starting to block the exit with carts of fruit from outside. It looked like there was an upstairs seating area that overlooks the checkout counters. Not that this is such a pleasant or peaceful place to enjoy your coffee and pastry.
I was disappointed because I had high expectations from the hype. I would love for someone to open a really premium Chinese supermarket, but this is definitely not it. There’s no reason for me to come back.

The French Bakery is as authentic as one can find this side of Atlantic! The ingredients, flavors and textures are artistic as well as a gastronomical delight.

WOW! this is a really nice market place, I love the look and feel of this place. Prices are great and everything is fresh! Dude if your into Asian snacks this market has it all.
My wife was wowed when she saw all the different varieties of hot pot items that they carry (must try the fishballs with roe). LOL just thinking about it makes me want to hot pot tonight, perfect for those cold night and looks like there putting in food stalls in as well. Check this place out you won’t be disappointed. Better then going to crazy main st. and good luck on finding parking there.

I love this supermarket. They always have the freshest Seafood, Meat and Produce. I was in a pickle the last time I was there and couldn’t find this particular fish ball and this kind lady walked with me to the aisle just to show me where instead of telling me the aisle number. That is great customer service. I love how they packaged their meat rolled up just for hot pot.
