Why does this place show closed? I was just here this past Saturday, 1÷9÷2016. Main sign says Kokkiri, which means elephant. Place used to be called Daheen Wang Mandoo. I guess they couldn’t sell enough mandoo to stay in business and they got bought out. The 32nd Street location went bust too. Food — Korean boon-shik style. It’s like Korean«comfort food.» Native Koreans would know stuff like donkatsu, dduk-bok-i, jjol-myun, neng-myun, omurice, and man-doo as boon-shik style. No frill, straight-forward style food. Boon-shik restaurants run from OK to bad to OUTSTANDING… This place is just OK. Portions are healthy, but nothing very special. The pricing could/would have been more attractive if they lopped off $ 1 to $ 3 for each plate. I didn’t expect a bill of $ 35 and change before tip for a late breakfast/early lunch. We ordered a plate of omurice, a pork katsu and hamburg combo, two dumplings, and a can of Coke. Felt that the bill should have been under $ 30 to be attractive. Korean food, even the pedestrian kind has become expensive these days. Atmosphere — No frill. You go in, you eat, and you get out Nothing special. Just clean. Staff — Attentive, prompt service. Korean restaurants in Flushing seem to hire a lot of Korean-Chinese these days, aka Jo-seon-jok. The woman who served us was nice, but she had difficulty understanding my Korean and vice-versa. And I’m a fluent Korean speaker. Final verdict? Eh… So-so… I was craving omurice, and it was OK, but I wasn’t impressed, especially not for what I paid… Would I go back? No. Do I know better places? Sure…

The huge mandoo buns were super hot, filling and hit the spot(even right after eating at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, haha). Just come on in, grab a bun, and eat it as you walk around this area.

It’s just okay, we ordered the special that have 3 kind of food which is beef patty, fish katsu and pork katsu, this is good, the 2nd dish is pork katsu curry, it has potato and onion, not tasty, the last thing we order yu ge jang, spicy beef soup, it’s nahh, ban chan only radish and bean sprout. The service is average. We had better than this from the food and service, we will not coming back, there is a lot of Korean Restaurant that better than this.

They say we eat with our eyes, and Kokkiri is no exception. After stuffing ourselves at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, I still had to get one of those giant mandoo(steamed buns) after I saw them in the window. The mandoo did not disappoint. If I were in the area, I would check it out again and dine in to see what else they have to offer.

The people here are really nice. The rolls have more meat substance than other places which I like. The food here is like the food at kimganae. It’s the same portion of food as the place in flushing and at good economical as well. They sell more than casual korean food. They also have things like tofu soup but i never tried it. Overall, i like it for a cheap, casual dine in for lunch. Good prices. If you want casual korean food though, I would probably go to other places on northern blvd.

Super affordable korean fast food! The food are amazing here, not too sweet or salty or overwhelming msg taste. Just right! Menu has a huge selection. My favorite dishes would have to be the mandoo!!! Steamed, small and big! Second fav is the fish cutlet! The meat is Soo meaty and it’s great with their tartar sauce! Lastly, it would have to be their refreshing mul nangmyun! The noodle is great and the broth!

The food wasn’t as spicy as I expected It to be but it was still good. Nothing extraordinary. I would come here again if I just want to satisfy a craving and not spend too much.

My chicken cutlet was literally raw. The kimchi dumpling was so bland, my ancestors were crying. The waiter was rude and annoyed of serving anyone. would i ever come here again? NO.

We ordered food from here through so this is based solely on the takeout experience. We ordered the tonkatsu, spicy squid and pork, curry katsu and a crab rice roll. I concur with other reviews that this place is incredibly good for the price. The portions are a good size and the quality is pretty good for the relatively inexpensive price tag. It’s just a step below places like Kimganae IMO which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. I will say that their staff is incredibly thoughtful as they kept the katsu wrapped in foil to keep it hot and crunchy during the transit. Curry sauce was tasty and I liked the fact that it was actually a little spicy. My only gripe was that the curry sauce was incredibly thick and chock full of potatoes. It needed more liquid. Spicy pork was spicy and rice roll was fresh. I’m not sure I would sit down here but it’s a great option for Korean fast take out especially if you’re using .

I went here by chance and the service of the waitress is really good! Very hospitable people and the food is really nice! I got Soondobu Jiggae and it is really really nice. They only have 3 side dishes and they don’t have kimchi & mackerel which has to be there. The price of each food is very affordable compared to other Korean Restaurants. I’ll definitely go back for another Tofu Soup again.

Basic, fast, simple and pleasant. Casual cuisine is exactly what this place is. I’ve passed this restaurant all the time on the bus. I’ve seen before, when it was just a dumpling/bun house. Now, it has changed owners and expanded their menu. Came here for lunch on Sunday. The restaurant looks so new and clean. But I didn’t expect any less from a Korean restaurant. The lady in the front greeted us and seated us. I had hard time picking what I wanted to order. But I ended up getting the special plate with hamburger, pork cutlet, and fish cutlet with gravy. My mom got dukbokki but asked the waitress if she could make it less spicy. She doesn’t really like spicy. And my dad ordered udon. After ordering, the waitress gave us utensils, tea, spicy turnip(I think), and miso soup(or some sort of soup). Upon waiting for our food, I realize, this place caters to all sorts of people, not only Korean people. Because a lot of places on Northern Blvd give an impression that it’s like koreans only(since they don’t have English on their banners). But they have korean, english and chinese, which expands their customers. So there were some Chinese people in here during our dining experience. Anyway, our food came out witihin 10 minutes or less. It was piping hot too. I saw a lot of steam coming from my mom’s dish. The dukbokki was very very tender. Better than some other places I’ve had. Since my mom asked for less spicy, it turned out sweeter than usual. It tasted very good. I didn’t try my dad’s udon so I don’t know what that was like. My dish, which came out last, was a big plate. The fish had a nice crunch and it was very light. The pork cutlet was okay. Very thin. The«hamburger» tasted like meatloaf. Too much breadcrumbs. I liked the gravy that came along with it though. The salad, corn and rice are all generic Korean sides. For some reason, every time we ask for more tea, the waitress doesn’t fill it up all the way, only half way. I found that strange. And I realized, that you could get up and refill it yourself because the tea is in a dispenser, not a tea pot. After eating we ordered one red bean bun, cause we were quite full. The bun was larger than I thought(but it does cost $ 2). It has A LOT of red bean. And it’s not really sweet at all. I think it was alright. Maybe I’ll try another kind next time. I think this is a great spot for lunch. It’s pretty cheap. $ 8 – 15. Oh and one side note, the chopsticks and spoons are in the draws on the side of the table. I thought that was cute and ingenious.

Seriously, cheap and quick eats doesn’t get any better than this. I used to only come for their buns, but they’ve recently expanded their menu into a full service restaurant. The menu covers almost all of the typical korean dishes and there is something here for everyone. The portions are huge and the food is good. They serve it quick and they serve it hot. Prices are ve

This place has good food and very friendly service. The staff is very attentive and accomodating. Utensils can be found in the tables side drawers. My group and I came here around dinner time and was seated right away. I had the spicy dukbokki and it was good. The fish katsu that my friend ordered was really good. I think I’m going with that dish next time I go. They do accept card here, which is great for someone like me; I never have cash on me.

I love stumbling upon new places in my neighborhood! Boyfriend and I were just walking down Northern Blvd. searching for a place to get something to eat and we see this place next to BCD. We both looked at each like… «has this place been here a while?». Lo and behold, it opened not too long ago and we were excited to check it out. This place is a no frills, basic Korean food type of establishment with pretty good prices. The menu itself is not HUGE, but you definitely have options! Katsu, buns, noodles, fried rice… plenty of dishes to choose from! I got the kimchi bun(wang mandoo in Korean), which I believe they outsource because it was served in a paper bag with another name on it, and the spicy rice cake with ramen noodles. Both were good! Not out-of-this-world fantastic, but really solid. Boyfriend got the pork katsu with omelet rice. Decently sized dish, but the pork katsu portion could’ve been a little larger. Either way, the prices were consistent with the quality and size of the food, so overall, we left full and happy! We will definitely be frequent visitors, which is good because they have a loyalty card that you get stamped each time you go(10 visits = 1 free dish)!

Came here with my friends looking for good food for a reasonable price here in northern blvd. The customer service here is great. We were seated right away and even given kimchi pancake on the house! I ordered a tuna roll Kimbap, and my friends ordered steamed dumplings, spicy seafood ramen, and spicy rice cake with thick noodle. They even gave us each miso soup. Will definitely come back
