John J McCann Exterminating Company

This company was wonderful! It seems like a small local company and everyone I dealt with was so friendly, helpful, and professional. I was quite freaked out by a sudden bug infestation after returning from vacation and they did a great job of treating it. They came over quickly and did a very thorough job. Over the phone, John recommended that I pull everything out of my kitchen cabinets for the most thorough spraying possible, but said that if I didn’t want to, they would work the best they could around it. I followed his advice and was so glad I did. It was a pain to remove everything, but doing it the right way once definitely paid off. With in two days of their visit I had no more bugs. They also offer a complimentary follow up 30 days later. Even though I hadn’t seen any more bugs, they just came over and did an extra spray for good measure and advised me on how to prevent water bugs from entering my basement. (That wasn’t my initial problem, but they were nice enough to advise me on that as well.) They sprayed and put down glue traps to catch the water bugs that were already in my garage, but were very honest and told me that spraying would not stop water bugs in the same way that it stops other infestations because the water bugs are so hardy and will continuously keep coming out of the drain in my driveway. They recommended getting some screens put into my drains to block their entryway. I really appreciated their honestly and professionalism. I would highly recommend them!

Had scratching noise between the walls in the attic and second floor of house for awhile, thought I was going nuts for awhile because I was the only one who heard it. Then when everyone in my household heard it, had to call someone ASAP to take a look.
Brian was very thorough, came for free and looked on the roof and confirmed that it was an animal that got in through an open vent up there. Gave me a reasonable cost estimate and came back to set up trap. Lo and behold, overnight it caught… a baby raccoon. We saw the mother too, who was sitting on my roof in broad daylight, trying to free her baby. I freaked out and immediately called the company’s line, they were at my house within the hour to solve the problem. Not sure if it was depression that set in or she figuring out «this is not a safe place to be,» but no more noise within a week after that.
We waited another couple weeks and Brian came back every day/​other day to check on the traps before we signed off on clearance to take them down and seal off the vent. But all in all, highly recommended!

It’s good to see there are still a few family run businesses hanging tight in the neighborhood. Beyond that I might add that these folks have definitely been around as long as they have for a reason — they know what they are doing and they work with their clients on pricing/​payments. They are efficient in scoping, treating and maintaining pest issues, and better still very flexible on availability. They will always be my go-​to for pest control, I’ve recommended to friends and I certainly recommend to all.

Professional and extremely nice. Called in the morning and came to provide the service in the afternoon. I wasn’t there when they came to have the wasp removed, but my mother was and she barely speaks English. But i heard my mom nonstop praising these guys. We are extremely happy with the service and such a relief to know this wasp/​hornet nest was removed professionally. Thank you John McCann

Had hornets nest on our terrace. Called them on a Sunday and they came right over. Problem solved. No extra cost for the emergency Sunday call

I cannot say enough good things about John McCann Exterminators. I called them last Saturday in a panic as I had discovered a rat in the garden of my newly purchased ground floor condo. No other company was picking up at 9am on Saturday except McCann. They initially offered me an appointment later in the day but then when they realized how concerned I was, Mr. McCann came himself within the hour. He laid traps in my garden and we caught the rodent within the day. He also then returned the following day (Sunday!) free of charge to remove the dead rodent. This is a true family run business with very high customer service. The price was also fair — I was worried about being ripped off after reading various reviews on Unilocal of other exterminators. John McCann;‘s family has been doing this for generations and it shows. I would recommend highly.
