Food court in this h mart is yummy. Portions are big and tasty. Don’t be deceived by the size of the food court it’s quality food.

Because her cell phone battery ran out, my wife asked the customer service desk if she could charge her cell phone for one minute so she could call me to pick her up after grocery shopping. The woman at the desk refused because ‘everyone asks’, then looked away from my wife and 4 yr old daughter. I’m extremely upset and disappointed at how poorly my wife and daughter were treated. Is this how you treat your customers, let alone fellow koreans in your community? My wife was also refused at Paris Baguette, and ultimately went to Garden World next door where they treated my wife like a human being and offered their charger and their sympathy. Meanwhile, the frozen groceries ended up thawing in the 85 degree heat. Though it is closest to our home, we will likely not be going back to this Hmart location because of the lasting bad memories.

Maybe it’s because I don’t really expect quality customer service from a grocery store? Or because I would personally not be happy if worked at a cashier all day… But the customer service at the store doesn’t really bother me. I also might feel that’s it’s language barrier that makes it seem more like there is an attitude problem. However, the food is always fresh, neatly organized and presentable. They have healthy organic selections and all your essentials. Their food court is reasonably priced for a decent meal with free water. In comparison to other supermarkets it’s probably one of the best. I wouldn’t expect exceptional restaurant quality customer service from a grocery store. They aren’t rude intentionally I feel, they just aren’t chipper…

My next new addiction. I have been to other H Marts but this one is one of my favorite. Great selection of frozen, dry and cooked items. I will see you soon.

H Mart is awesome. They have extremely good fish for sushi. My girlfriend and I love the prepared snacks, mochi, and sauces. This store has everything I need for making a great meal. I highly suggest giving H Mart a try.

This store could probably be great but they are sooo unfriendly. During checkout the cashier did not greet me or say hello or thank you. I do feel rather unwanted in that store. The workers who stock the shelves look really stressed out and look at you with a combination of suspicion and sadness. I wonder what is up with the management of that place. I can understand that some do not speak English but the management should train in some basic customer service. A little smile and simple hello /thank you goes a long way. Also their Twitter account is protected, what’s up with that? I only go there for emergencies and when I am in the area and really need some of the organic /healthy things they sell and to grab some fruit and vegetables(unfortunately Stop and Shop at Bay Terrace really lacks on some of these items). They(almost) have the cranberry juice I like(cold pressed but not organic, close enough). Very few supermarkets carry the cold pressed. On a positive note the store is very clean and I got $ 2 off when I presented my H Mart card. Yes I will continue to give them a little business and hope for better service in the future!

Huge fan of the H Mart Come here weekly for the über fresh and cheap produce. Stock up on the fresh greens, ginormous Fuji apples, house made kimchi, golden kiwis, wild caught fish/lobsters, seafood galore, endless frozen food goods, top notch rice brands, teas, desserts you name it they got it! Plenty of variety to keep you here all day. Incredible meat and produce section are worth the trip alone.

If you like Asian supermarkets but can’t stand the filth, stench, and loud annoying music, then H Mart is for you. It’s slightly more expensive than most typical Asian supermarkets. But H Mart does have better quality fresh fish and meats. Aisles are clean and well lit. Shelves are organized. Love the free samples on weekends and holidays.

Is it weird that my main objective when going to hmart is getting the cooked food? Honestly the food is usually consistent in taste compared to the food served at the hmart in great neck. My go to is usually the #16 beef lunch box: bulgogi, kimchi, radish kimchi, salad, rice, soup for $ 12(used to be $ 10 so slight raise in price). Still a pretty good deal for what you get. Sometimes they forget to pack certain items if you get take out so always double check your bags. Also if you get take out of the lunch boxes you get a free pack of roasted seaweed. Free water towards the back on the left hand side. Order at the register, pay, get your ticket and when they call your number just pick up your meal. This place can get crowded, especially during«rush» hours but if you stay to eat you will get more food than if you get take out.

This is one of the newest HMarts in the area. It’s neat and clean. Prices are fair. What I love about this HMart is that they have a food court in the front. It’s nice to have a quick meal. They portion sizes bigger than what I’d expect from a Korean restaurant too. The vegetables/produce are nice and fresh and the have higher quality meats than other local grocery stores. I also really love the prepared cold foods in the front. It’s a delicious easy quick bite to eat or snack when I’m home. There is also a bakery/café so you can get your coffee and cake fix on. A parking lot is available. It’s a decent size but it can get filled quickly when is busy. Fresh seafood is located in the back of the store. Be sure to check when there are salesso you can get good seafood at a good price.

I’ve always been a fan of Korean restaurants mainly because of their attention to creating a pleasant dining experience. When shopping for Korean groceries, the same can be said for H-mart. H-mart is the opposite of the no-frills Asian supermarkets. Their supermarkets are usually brightly lit, clean and organized with neatly stocked shelves. Weekends are probably the best time to shop because of the free food samplings(items that are on sale that week). I should mention that their sample servers are polite and do have good personal hygiene(like not clipping their nails in public). Some of my favorite items to purchase are their fish products(raw tuna and salmon which are very fresh), seaweed and frozen kimchi dumplings. Some of their products are a bit more expensive than other supermarkets so it’s better to know what you buying(i.e. non-Korean or western food). For providing a good food shopping and tasting experience, I’d give H-mart four Unilocal stars…

I come here occasionally for shrimp and other groceries. This market has fruits, veggies, and meat at an affordable price. It can be a little smelly in some of the aisles, but still an overall good market.

I liked this supermarket for the selection and generally reasonable prices for vegetables. However, the staff is consistently rude. I once tried to ask an employee for help; I was less than a foot away from him, and had to say«excuse me» 5 times before he turned towards me. He started directly behind me, tried to pretend I wasn’t there, and finally barked, «what do you want?» There is never a simple hello from the cashiers or any attempt to make the customer feel valued. I will not be shopping here, or at any H-Mart, anymore.

You can never go wrong by coming here! All their fruits, vegetables, and meats are always top notch. I especially love their pre-marinated meats and cooked foods section. Bonus part is that there is a Paris Baguette and a small korean food court on the side if you ever need dessert or a quick bite to eat. They have their own private parking lot but it usually filled, at any given time, try the bank side or regular street parking behind the building.

They have a small food area and they have a variety of options. I had the chicken bento box and it was so delicious. Surprisingly it had more than I expected which is always a plus. It comes with rice, kimchi, salad, and soup and it definitely fills you up.

Yes, great place to shop, just make sure you try to avoid weekends after 11 a.m. or come super late, like 9 p.m. Shelves are well-stacked and there is a very clean feeling to this place. It’s no wonder why it’s almost always packed, even on weeknights! There are also free tastings of interesting items during weekends. The parking lot is small. It also gets very dark, disorderly, and crowded, with both vehicles and pedestrians. I call it «Ordered Chaos.» I opt for the Chinese supermarkets for Chinese vegetables but for Korean products, I come here. It’s also super convenient in the sense that I don’t have to go all the way to downtown Flushing for basic items. Prices are higher than most, though. Be sure to shop around. This supermarket sometimes does not stock items that other markets have. I couldn’t find baking soda last night, it was weird.

I’m not sure why people are being stingy with their stars in reviews but this place deserves a top rating. Produce is always fresh Food court has great turn over ensuring a fresh meal and good prices Paris Baguette is in the store making it super convenient to pick up fresh bread Free samples on the weekend Meat specials mean you can get deals And, it’s a well stocked Asian supermarket where you can also find Chinese goods

This is the nicest HMart I’ve been to. Specifically for the food court on the side, it is the bomb diggity. Portions for price is the most reasonable I’ve seen for Korean food. Regular kimchi soondubu is like $ 8.99 which is unheard of. That’s like $ 3 cheaper than BCD, and you’re not paying for tip. I really like their yukkaejang, which is like a shredded beef spicy soup. That is only about $ 9, and the bowl is huge. You could eat it for two meals if you portion it right. Eating here is like the people who have discovered it are keeping the secret to themselves. It’s like everyone eating here had this mutual, unspoken look of solidarity at each other to not share this goodness with the outside Unilocal world. This is my current favorite place for good cheap Korean food.

Weekends: SAMPLES!!! Generic HMart, clean. You’ll find everything you need at a korean supermarket. Prepared foods are good — hard to find Bibimbap here though, always out. Paris Baguette — Typical. For whatever reason things don’t taste as good as the standalone bakeries. Food Court — Lots of options! Great portions! Prices are on par with a regular Korean restaurant which was surprising. Simple meals were $ 8 – 12. I got a stew and my husband got korean fried rice. Portions were insane, taste — EH. The Bento box looked Awesome! Wish we got that instead. Next time!
