What the other said are all true. Used to come to this cantonese restauant/take out when I started going to eat in Flushing a decade back when this restaurant was more of a divey place on Roosevelt Ave. Customer service and food has been on steadily decline ever since with with a side of major attitude from all the people in it. I usually do the take out here so speaking from this point of view. First time I noticed there was an issue when the cashier start fighting with a customer on some cash transaction, even though the lady fighting the cashier was loud, the cashier was even louder and she can just calm the matter by being nicer and at least 5 of us were staring at her, the cashier didn’t care. 2nd, I ordered a suckling piglet for my son’s 100 days in the the chinese tradition since the restaurant we had the banquet in didn’t serve it. Went and received it and it was quite smaller than I thought(yes, it’s a piglet but I carried it with one hand…), didn’t think much until it was served and thought it was not much flavor and the skin which is the important part is hard and not crispy. I thought it was me but then, the manager at the restaurant where the banquet was pulled me to the side at the end of the night and said, «the piglet is not fresh as the chef who was cutting it noticed the skin and meat texture is not what it’s supposed to be, tender and crispy which this piglet is not, think you need pay a little more and go to Corner 28 next time», major embarrassment! Last straw was today after ordering soy chicken noodle for take out, the guy who took the order was sitting there reading newspaper and kept saying it’s saying $ 6.75 repeatly and I thought to myself, if you just come back to the cashier area and take the money, you don’t have to keep repeating yourself. He then asked me if I wanted the chicken wing part and I said no, then, I noticed he literally gave me 5 small pieces of chicken and I said, can you give me the chicken wing if that’s the case and he said it’s $ 2 more! I then jokingly complaining the price they are charging for soy chicken noodle is alot more than the competitors and he then in a real nasty way, then go to the competitors! I told him he got major attitude and left! Seriously, this not the only cantonese resturant in the hood and it’s medicore at best even eating in for dinner, going to take my business and go to Corner 28 on 40th Road instead for take out! Also, if you want REALGOOD cantonese food for eat in dinner, go to Canton Gourmet on 38 – 08 Prince Street. The only reason they are surviving on take out is because they are next to the major medical building next door! Will never ever come back again and tell everyone about this!

Restaurant rates a C from the government Customer service is a shit. We order 2 eat for fish. They wouldn’t tell me what kind of fish for the 2 eat. Finally he told me one kind. Then after ordering he walks out and say I switch the fish for you. Something not as expensive but charge same price. Also lobster. He market a price on the wall, but wont honor or tell you weight. Bullshit 45 min wait and no food. We all stood up and was about to walk out the restaurant. Someone then runs over with our first dish.

DONOTEATATTHISRESTAURANTUNLESSYOUWANTTOBEABUSED. NEVERAGAIN!!! This used to be my family’s go-to place for Cantonese food. But after this past experience, NEVERAGAIN!!! We had reservations at 6pm(very early in Chinese standards), thinking we could have a nice relaxing dinner… WRONG!!! We were a party of 10, but when 3 of us showed up at 5:45, they were insisting we order at that very minute. I told them I would order when the rest of our party arrived. Everyone arrived by 6pm(nobody was late). We were not allowed to order from the regular menu and were made to order from their banquet menu(which costs twice as much). About 5 minutes after ordering, ALL of our food came out at once… yes, ALL! It was beyond ridiculous. There was so much food on our table, that there really wasn’t enough room on the table to fit all the dishes… their solution? Mixing two totally different dishes on the same plate… WTF!!! They were trying to rush us out of there when there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. Also, all the dishes did NOT taste good — they totally rushed the cooking/seasoning process because all of the food was BLAND. You could get better food from your local Chinese American take-out joint! We complained to our waiters about being rushed and the bad tasting food, but they really didn’t care. They were actually quite RUDE! Well, we refused to be rushed, and sat there and ate COLD, BLANDFOOD. Again, beyond ridiculous!!! In hind-sight, we should have all gotten up and just left the restaurant without paying… seriously! Well, there won’t be a next time, because they just lost some loyal customers.

The food was very good. We had 11 in our party and all agreed. However, the waitress was atrocious. It was hard to get attention. When asked for water, she said that she was busy. We another waiter after a lengthy wait. She brought the wrong fish, de-boned it at the table, but then delivered it to another table across the restaurant. We paid cash with a 20% tip. When two fifties stuck together, she placed the $ 50 tip on the table counted the money incorrectly but left embarrassed once we separated the fifties for her. Get rid of the waitress and have a happy new year.

This review is not for the restaurant itself it’s for the roast meat stall out back where you can buy roast pork and roast duck by the pound. I think this is one of the best little stalls in flushing for roast meat, everything we got was juicy and tender. I would definitely frequent this place!

Had lunch there today. I ordered an expensive LIVE fish but given a stale one. Asked the owner he said that’s the way it is for that kind of fish. I have been eating seafood for the past 40 years and I can tell fresh one from the dead. I asked for around 1 lb only coz I had other dishes. It would be too much if the fish was too big but they gave me a 2 lbs one. Also, waitress was pushing for expensive seafood and told me they didn’t have inexpensive one. Seiously? you do this in the lunch time? Avoid this restaurant if you want Cantonese cuisine.

Not a bad Chinese restaurant for a big group of people. Food was good and came out super fast. For the most part the waiting staff was attentive and fast to respond to any requests or when refills were needed. Considering we had a large group the price was acceptable for the large amounts of food that was served.

This is a nice restaurant that serves delicious and authentic Chinese food. The portions were large. I would definitely recommend Steamed Crab over Sticky Rice and the Stir Fried Lobster. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. Price was very reasonable — around $ 30 per person for 8 dishes(2 of them being seafood dishes).

Came here for a family celebration! I would say it’s pretty rare to find good Cantonese restaurants in Flushing since it’s mainly dominated by Taiwanese restaurants. This one was pretty decent though. We had booked three tables in a private room and the décor looked great. It looks just like any other typical Cantonese restaurant and was also very clean. The service was pretty good as well. We got our food very quickly and the waiters were very attentive… maybe a little too attentive since they kept on staring at us while we were eating which I found somewhat unsettling lol. The food was good but nothing extraordinary… or maybe I’m just too used to eating these types of Cantonese dishes lmao. The walnut shrimp with broccoli was good, the crispy skin chicken was great(slightly dry though), and the beef cubes with vegetables were amazing! The yee mein and fried rice tasted very standard, which I would say is A-ok for me as long as it doesn’t taste bad. Overall, prices are very reasonable, service is good, and the food meets my expectations. Glad to see that there are good Cantonese restaurants in Flushing aka Little Mandarin Town!

They are liars and cheaters. Gave us(party of 15!) the wrong lobster and lied about it. And then they tried to cheat us on the lobster type. The lobster we got was black and bitter, not bright red like what Cantonese lobster should taste like. Also, in Chinese seafood restaurants they are supposed to show the customers the lobster before cooking it; had they done that we would have picked up on it immediately. Instead they tried to trick us. Afterwards we asked the manager for an explanation and he tried to brush it off and blamed us for not knowing what we were talking about. Don’t ever eat here, they are liars!

**This review is for the takeout joint next door to the actual restaurant** I work in Flushing and this is my go-to lunch spot because it’s cheap, decent food and it’s located a block away from me. It’s as cheap as it gets with a portion size that could last you up to 2 meals if you’re me. So that’s $ 5.50 divided by 2 — you do the math. It literally could not get better as far as lunch boxes go. Call ahead to order and go pick up your food in about 10 – 15 minutes, otherwise you’ll have to stand there and wait by the dingy wall while trying to guess which bag coming out of the kitchen next door is yours since they all look the same. It’s hard to keep tabs because there’s a constant stream of customers coming to order as well as pick up takeouts, so to save time and avoid hassle it’s best to just call ahead. Better yet — save their number onto your phone. They speak Mandarin and Cantonese. Not sure about English(I always order in Mandarin)… FYI — they’re closed for renovation starting on 4÷1÷15, for about 2 weeks. Which is a huge bummer for me because now I don’t know where I’ll get my lunch :(

This place has had many names over the years with major and minor changes, along with renovations. Fei Chiu Woo, Full House and now Foo Kee. The name on the awning has changed, but the name on the menu still says Full House and they have been a staple for Cantonese cuisine in Flushing for a long time. Over the years, we’ve had many a family dinner here, including our wedding rehearsal dinner(ages ago), a friend’s wedding banquet and numerous birthday celebrations. Though they are not as big as some of the current crop of banquet sized restaurants in the area, their food quality has been good and consistent. We recently had a banquet meal for 15 people and we were barely able to squeeze into their largest table. I really do not recommend that many at a single table unless you’re all family or close friends. So if you have 15 people, you automatically order a 15 course menu, right? At least that’s the usual rule of thumb for a Chinese family dinner, a ratio of 1 dish/1 person. Whoa, that was a lot of food and it just kept coming! But we held our own and put most of it away. By the time the fried rice and noodles came, we were stuffed. A typical Cantonese banquet meal: Walnut Prawns w/Broccoli MIxed Seafood w/Fried Stuffed Tofu Bricks Fish Maw & Chives Soup Homestyle Bean Curd Salt & Pepper Fried Pork Chops Steamed Dungeness Crab w/Sticky Rice Braised duck w/Shanghai Bok Choy Crispy Skin Chicken Stir fried Steak Kew w/Asparagus Snowpea Pod Leaves w/Bamboo Pith Fillet of Flounder — 2 ways Twin Lobster Cantonese style Young Chow Fried Rice Black Mushroom Ye Mein Red bean soup & sliced oranges for dessert(gratis)

Like many Unilocalers here, Foo Kee aka Full House Seafood Restaurant has always been a go-to location for big family event. The restaurant has been around for quite a while and as other restaurants around the area closes down, Foo Kee continue to run it’s business and that’s just proof on how solid the food/service in this restaurant is. Parking could be an issue since they privatized the municipal parking lot, but if you are willing to pay 3 bucks an hour, your problem is gone. Tonight we came cause we had relatives visiting from out of town. We got here around 5:50pm and the place was empty, but it’s no surprise because Chinese people eat really late. It’s good for us cause our food came super fast! We order a total of 10 dishes for 12 people, the portions here are huge! but luckily we have beasts in the family so we were able to finish the 10 dishes along with 15 bowls of rice. some of food you should try here are: Steam Lobster w/sticky rice– this is such an awesome dish, they basically chop up the lobster and steam sticky rice with it, while it’s steaming, all the essences from the lobster is released and become infused into the rice, so when you eat the rice, you’ll taste a strong lobster flavor! the lobster meat still tasted tender and not overcooked. Any Chinese Barbecue stuff– roast pork/suckling pig/soy sauce chicken/roast duck, they are all solid, especially the roast pork! super tender and extra flavorful! I also like the mayo shrimp w/broccoli and candied walnut, the shrimp are huge and it’s not overcook, super flavorful, good balance between savory and sweetness! The price is average, i wouldn’t say it’s cheap but for the quality of food you get here, the price point is excellent! Love the place, love the food and will always be a Go-to place for my family!

Foo Kee has always been my family’s go to place for big dinners. Why? Mostly because we know the manager of the restaurant, and because their food is very reasonably priced. Though their banquet/family style dinner is not always consistent, when they’re on point, they’re quite delicious! What I do always get here though, is their Chinese barbecue they sell right next door! Their cha siew might possibly be my favorite in NYC(better than Big Wong’s). Very flavorful and tender, you can easily chow down a pound of it. Their roast pork always has crispy skin, and juicy porkrib meat. They serve three kinds of chicken, and of course duck! I usually order in bulk for my family, but occasionally I’ll get a «San Boe Fan.» This basically means rice with three type of meat and veggies for only 5 – 6 bucks!!! If you come during lunch time they’ll even throw in a soup for you. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a huge steal for the amount of food they give you! Must order here for family style: Peking porkchops — Sweet glazed fried porkchops. Crispy with a vinegar sweet sauce that goes perfect with a warm bowl of white rice. Ginger lobsters with noodles — Why waste those beautiful seafood essence?! Pan fried with noodles and let all the flavors soak in. Jelly Fish & snail appetizers — These are my favorite, but obviously acquired taste. Enjoy!

We ordered our family dinner for pick up, it was ready when we got there. I think it took longer to find parking so we can pick up our order. Since we had take out, hard to tell about service. We order 2 lobsters with noodles which was the best dish. The flounder was over cooked. The house special steak unfortunately had too much corn starch which didn’t fully cook. My dad loved this place when he was still with us so we continue to viait for our family meal when we visit our mom. Overall I think if we ate in the food would have been better. I will update on next visit.

With Chinese New Year celebration dinner winding down, if you read my previous review(see one down) I wasn’t going to make the same mistake by choosing another overprice, hoity toity Tribeca joint. So Flushing bound we went to Foo Key for two round tables of friends and yeah… lazy susans, rushed Chinese waiters and over usage of red, bustling tables of ravenous Asians! We had a couple other celebration dinners before. Oh, how I missed you. Sorry for dissing you. I’ll never do it again. Our packed table(9 people) was ready to eat the Cantonese style cuisine served here. Melon soup to start. Let the dishes flow. Dungeness crab in chili and garlic. Crispy whole chicken. Pork chops with Peking Sauce. Seafood & Tofu casserole. Chinese mushroom with mustard greens. Pork with Chinese greens. The food was excellent. I’m not a fan of the Peking sauce as it is sweet but the table loved it. Everyone was happily enjoying the food and conversation with the occasional scream for ice water! The waiter just finally put a big pitcher of ice water for each table. So here is the opposite. With bellies filled and left– overs to boot for almost 70% less than the previous dinner it would seem my fortune and luck has returned for the Year of the Horse.

Let’s start off the ***new year*** with a good review! Foo Kee Seafood Restaurant = Authentic Chinese food for real. Delicious, flavorful, savory. This is what I call comfort food for take-out, dine-in, special occasions, and any ordinary day! #loveIT I came here with my family for dinner right before the end of 2012. Here are the dishes we ordered: .+. Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves with Garlic Sauce .+. Deep Fried Chicken with Golden Garlic Sauce .+. Pork Chop with Peking Sauce .+. Jumbo Shrimp with Walnuts .+. Sauteed Fish Fillet with Vegetables We all left the restaurant in full satisfaction. The Chefs sure know how to sauce up all of the dishes~! NOTE: For those who like to order take-out, you must get their scrumptious Beef Chow Fun and Roast Pig! The Beef Choy Fun has a lot of, what the Chinese call it, «wok hay». The Roast Pig is always tender, juicy, and full of flavor. TIP: The bestseller roast pig gets sold out FAST so you must order it before 4pm.
