Had to come here cause someone stole one of the keys to our apartment and I needed to change our door lock, which is a Mul-T-Lock. My landlord would’ve charged us $ 150 for each key that we asked to duplicate, which is quite ridiculous. I entered the store to get a quote thinking that I would have to pay a fortune to change the lock and get multiple keys. Boy, I was wrong. I talked to the locksmith(who speaks CANTONESE, and Mandarin!) and told him my problem. They were kind enough to suggest that I didn’t have to change the entire lock system but just the lock cylinder. The lock would cost only $ 80 and each additional key would be $ 8($ 10 without Mul-T-Lock card)!! I was SOHAPPY so I immediately told them that I wanted it. Labor, unfortunately, was an additional $ 80 bucks. It was probably a rip off since it took the guy about 15 mins to remove the old one and install the new one, but in total, it would’ve costed me way less than what my landlord would’ve charged me. I probably could’ve bargained a bit, but I didn’t want to bother. The locksmith immediately followed me to my apartment to fix it! I was a happy camper within 30 mins cause of such a fast and easy solution that they provided!

I am sometimes fed up with the quality of products I get at Home Depot in Flushing. This is probably my favorite local hardware store where service is personable. I dropped in here to get my towel bars replaced. I had the measurements and the guy in the store helped me saw them down to the sizes I want. Home Depot doesn’t even carry this product. Prices are very reasonable at the store and if you need a couple of screws or washers you don’t have to buy a whole box and will sell them by the piece.

Your neighborhood hardware store is a great alternative to Home Depot and other giant chains that want to kill small businesses. My neighborhood hardware store would be this one. Snow shovels and appliances in the front, random hardware stuff in the back, different types of locks to choose from. The owners here can speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese, friendly and knowledgeable. I came here to make key duplicates(first time too!) I finally saw how the process worked. Pretty awesome! They take a blank key that can fit in the key hole and then starts cutting it so that it can turn. They start accepting credit cards at $ 15.
