A-1 Auto Diagnostic Center Corporation

I had gotten into an accident a few weeks ago, my rear door of my 2012 Honda Civic was smashed in because the driver did not see me turn even though mine was a turning lane. He just kept going straight, and BAM! both my front and rear door was scratched. Well, the weather might have had a lot to do with it, it was pouring that day, and I still regret having gone out, even to this day! But ah well. The other party and I decided not to go through insurance, and I started looking for a body shop to do the work.
I went to quite a few body shops in Queens, all of whom I found through here on yep. They all told me I needed a new door skin from Honda because knocking it out wasn’t going to look. good, note would it last since the metal was so thin… And it was going to be really pricey for the rear door, to Fox part of the front door, and painting, and of course I couldn’t refute that. The average price was about $ 1,500 before labor, paint and fixing the dent/​scratch on the front door and the matching of the paint shade (final would be OVER $ 2,000). My Honda is a light silverish blue. And also, no one could take me until about a week and a half to two weeks later. I needed this done much sooner than that!
I got referred to A-​1 via my friend’s mechanic… He told me his friend owns a body shop. No reviews for this place…(?) Well anyway, I drove there… its located parallel to Queens Blvd but right by the area behind the used car lots (47^th Avenue). not too far from the 74^th street subway station/​Elmhurst Hospital.
Henry the shop owner is great, he speaks mainly Chinese but can converse in English. He inspected the car, told me exactly what the other guys told me/​knew exactly what I needed and provided the estimate based on that. A *lot* lower than the above quoted. I could see that the garage was really busy but he said he’d be able to take me after the weekend. Monday comes around, he calls Honda and then one of his ppl to make sure the part can be secured so he can confirm the estimate amount. I give him the deposit. He tells me to drop by car off that evening and he will call me when it’s finished.
Less than a week later, my car looks pretty much how it was before the accident. I am really pleased with both the price and service!!! The paint matches PERFECTLY.
I paid cash, but I saw they take insurance work too. They are open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm. Henry answers the phone personally too.
