Went there because I heard the pizza was as good if not better than another local place I love called faraci pizza. The pizza was excellent and the fact the have great business hours and a buffet. I can’t wait for my next trip to explore the menu. The pizza was so beautiful than it was almost to pretty to eat. But it would have been a sin not to eat that divine pizza. I have a new spot.

Ha, I took the pictures of the food a while ago and now I am finally getting around to the food review. Well, this spot is one that is very off the beaten path for St Louis styled pizza joints. You either have to be from Florissant or know somebody from there. Fortunately for me; I happened to know somebody from Florissant and got lessons on the history of this part of North County. So what better way to experience old towne Florissant than by starting with Pirrone’s Pizzeria?! Ok let’s start with the bad: Fries: 0⁄5. I only copped these because I wanted to use the whole Groupon(P.S. be on the lookout for the Groupons because they have them on the site) but for $ 2.99 I was expecting more than about 10 fries.(as you can see from the pic) I mean really… could I call these fries?!! More like school chalk posing as fries… Super Nastee. Never again! Now for the Good: Hamburger pizza 3.5÷5 Now in other reviews, I have mentioned my distain for St Louis styled pizza. However, I can mess with Pirrone’s. There are enough slices for me to be full and still have some for later. The cheese is on the money, and the sauce game is not too sweet . Overall, I would go back if I didn’t have a groupon for the pizza… But those AZ trash as fries… can kick rocks !!

I gave this one five stars on the last review. While the food is still great and the servers are friendly, the last couple visits have left me wondering if they have enough staff. Service is friendly but slow. The folks on staff are working hard but may be stretched. We almost lost our pizza to another table yesterday. Luckily, we were close enough to call out that it was ours before it was left in the wrong place.

So it’s a Thursday afternoon and I’m sitting at my car dealership in North County waiting for the car to be ready. I, of course, start scanning Unilocal to get some ideas for dinner. I come across Pirrone’s Pizza. I vaguely remembered eating it once when I worked in an office and they brought it in for lunch. As I’m pulling out of the dealership I call and place a to go order for a large pepperoni pizza and a small order of fettuccini alfredo(substitute shell pasta for the fettuccini.) They tell me 25 minutes and I’m on my way. I get there and pay and they tell me it’s going to be at least 10 more minutes. I put $ 1 in one of the machines and play 2 games of Ms Pac Man and 2 games of Galaga. I get to the third board every time on both games and I’m feeling pretty good about that. The girl calls my name and I’m in the car with the pizza and pasta and on my way home. It smells SOGOOD and I have barely eaten all day so I start eating 1 piece of pizza. Then I ate a second. It was DELICIOUS! Thin and crispy crust and gooey orange provel with the spice of pepperoni. Why are these little north county mom and pop pizza places so good? How do they get the crust that crispy? The pasta was great too. Creamy, cheesy, and lots of garlic. I will be back. When is my car due for another oil change?

For St. Louis style pizza I would have to say Pirrone’s is middle of the pack. The pizza is always good but it’s just lacking somewhere. The fact that the cheese looks so orange and greasy just isn’t aesthetically pleasing either. However it’s definitely a good choice if it is convenient. Wouldn’t recommend eating there. The wait is usually pretty long and the staff isn’t all that great. We ordered two pizzas this last time and they came out 10 minutes apart so half our table was watching the others eat… It was rather uncomfortable.

Love Love Love the pizza. friendly staff. could use more onions and fixings on the salad but it is piled high with cheese. If you like the St. Louis style thin crust pizza, you will love this pizza.

Overpriced & over rated! Staff could use a dress code, yoga pants & Jammie bottoms are not suitable for work. Pizza was lacking in flavor & sauce. I tried a burger on another visit I asked for no pink & it came out burnt. The one thing I did enjoy was the child’s salad.

I’ve been to the lunch buffet twice and both time I’ve had to go find a server to get a refill on my drink and to get my tab. Horrible customer service. The 2 stars is for the the food. It’s pretty good. Sometimes its hard for them to keep the buffet fully stocked. The servers do a lot of hanging out instead of taking care of guest. This time i stood up for about 7 – 10 mins waiting and waving trying to get one of the girls attention. Finally i grabbed my jacket and was on my way to the To-Go area. Finally one of them came over.(i believe she thought i was going to dine and dash) i would come more if the service was better and the girls wore something other than yoga pants and a t-shirt.

Delicious pizza — ALMOST worth the price! Stay on the lookout for groupon & living social steals!

Pizza is great! The lunch buffet is good but frequently run out of items. They need to label the salad dressings. Staff are ok but always look for reasons not to accept their own coupons. Staff seemed overworked and indifferent!

The absolute best pizza in St. Louis. Very friendly staff. Love coming to this north county institution, a must visit if from out of town visiting and want a taste of St. Louis style pizza! Oh, a child’s size salad is plenty for one for a side.

One of my favorite restaurants in North County. I love taking friends from out-of-town to Pirrone’s. Everything is wonderful! Not sure why people who don’t like St. Louis-style pizza would even bother going here though. The lasagna and pasta are yummy, so if you don’t like St. Louis-style pizza, there are other options :)

Best pizza and salad in town. We order take out at least twice a month. Sometimes the wait times for pick up is a little long, 45 min — an hour or so. Food is what keeps me coming back every time though!

My favorite pizza! I have to get it everytime I am in town! Too bad we don’t have St. Louis style pizza in Florida…

I ate at their Ofallon location. The ambiance was ok. The silverware came out wrapped in plastic, making think of a cafeteria. Their house salad was ok but it was overflowing the small plate it was on which made it hard not to dump lettuce all over the table. The pizza was identical to Fratellis.

My last attempt to like St Louis style Pizza. I hit the lunch buffet, hoping that I would find a nice assortment. The pizza bar was lacking and the salad bar was stocked with old lettuce and minimal items to put on your salad. The people were nice, but the pace was not very clean. The pizza, well it was just not for me.

Came here as part of a friends tour of StL. Haha It is Provel on Baked crackers. REAL strips of bacon. Jerry Special was spicey and hot. Seriously… Let it cool a tad before burning your lip or roof of your mouth. But can’t help it if you’re waiting about 45 min for a take out pizza. Long wait times. Be prepared. Back to the pizza. If you know and love StL pizza you will love this. Provel isn’t bad and the pizza is actually pretty decent in terms of ingredients. Next time we’re going to try Pi Pizza… Obama flew out the chef to the White House… Or my tour guide said so.

I only have had the lunch buffet & think it is A-OK. The restaurant was not designed as a buffet. So– the line to the added corner small corner buffet can get long & wrap awkwardly around. Small selection of a salad bar, but with artichoke hearts! Few extremely soft provel cheese topped thin crust pizza are offered. Selection usually is 1 cheese, 1 pepperoni, 1 sausage &1 tray of leftover corner pieces… Usually 1 time during the lunch I will see any vegetables on a pizza other than mushroom or onion. Sides were Mostaccioli & another pasta. A soup & chili is offered. I have eaten the chili– thick meaty variety. Overall– I would say the buffet is just A-OK.

Pirrone’s Pizza is always a good time. I usually go to the one in O’Fallon, but this time I tried the Florissant location. It was another great Pirrone’s experience. The pizza was delicious, they are more than happy to split the toppings on the pizza, which is always a plus with me. The fried mushrooms were tasty, not the best, but still pretty good. The service was fast and friendly, and as always the prices were very fair. I don’t know if I will make it to this location again, but I was definitely happy with the way my visit went.

It must be a North County thing. I have no idea what some of these reviewers are smoking or what kind of pizza they are eating, but Pirrone’s Pizzeria in Florissant is the best St. Louis style pizza, no contest. Pirrone’s has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and the people of Florissant patronize this establisment like no other. Size and space has always been an issue for PP, starting off in what appears to be a convenient store, not a pizzeria. After years of cramming into a small space, PIrrone’s took over an old hardware store but still struggles to fill the demand of so many savvy North County people. I’m not sure that I can put into words just how wonderful Pirrone’s pizza truly is. It’s about as close to gourmet as St. Louis style gets, but without losing the elements that make pizza great. It’s all about the provel, which comes out of the oven like molten lava. And you can’t wait another minute to dig in! I have burned my mouth many a time at Pirrone’s. The crust is clearly handmade because it quite often comes out misshapen and covered with flour, and the topping are bountiful! One of the worst thing to happen to my health was the day Pirrone’s decided to open a lunch buffet. This is a stupendous and horrible thing! Now patrons can have as much of this delightful pizza as they want. And you won’t hear this often. Pirrone’s has great salads. But again, it’s all about the cheese! Top that off with a toasted ravioli station and my cholesterol just went through the roof! Best pizza buffet all the way! Pirrone’s can run pretty pricey, so the buffet is a nice option for those available at lunchtime. Still, the buffet runs about nine dollars, but it is so worth it! When the servers bring that za fresh out of the oven, I can’t think of a better moment. So all you fools who don’t get Pirrone’s might need to reboot. This ain’t Domino’s, baby! You’re getting the real deal.
