Great fresh food. Was wanting to try this food out for a minute. Went there last weekend. Amazing friendly staff that caters to your needs. Will definitely come here more often.

First time ordering from Chef John. Ordered Shepards pie and corn beef with cabbage. Very generous portions and absolutely delicious!!! Will definitely order from here again.

First time I came, I had the southwest chicken salad. It was so fresh and so tasty and The dressing was ON POINT. So I decided to cater my husbands 50^th bday from chef John. It was a cocktail party at my house. We ordered the Reuben balls, Mac and cheese, some sandwiches, Thai meatballs, chicken fingers (for the kiddies). Let me tell you: everyone was asking who catered the party because the food was so outstanding. People were going back for 5ths –maybe bc of the cocktails LOL. The staff is top notch, chef John is great– professional and easygoing. Made my party planning so easy. I can taste the Reuben balls in my most right now. Yum!

We ate at Chef John’s today for the first time, but it will not be our last! The food was excellent, not to mention the service. Such a warm friendly atmosphere. Prices are great for the quantity and quality of the food. We will be joining the weekly dinner club, can’t wait. The weekly emails about the Wednesday specials and then the week end special. We will be letting all our friends and family know about Chef John’s. HIGHLY recommend — Do not miss this treasure! I wish I could award it more stars!

My neighbor told me about this place and I’ve been meaning to come here for a while, today was finally the day. At first, you sit down in the clean contemporary dining room, you get a two page menu on a clipboard, the choices are difficult because everything sounds good. I ordered «The Big Who burger» (Two hand slammed beef patties, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato served with Russian dressing on a seeded brioche bun) with an order of fries, my wife ordered «The Italian”(Chicken cutlet, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, served on hero bread with balsamic dressing) with an order of onion rings– all fresh and delicious, the portions are huge, I’m a big eater and ended up taking food home.
I’m kicking myself for not coming here sooner and will be back!

This is a great place especially for catering. When I picked up food they actually carried to my car for me. I was very happy with the food I got and highly recommend going here.

I stopped in with my mother last night after we had both heard about this place a few times. It has a casual family feel that makes you want to just hang out there. We ordered the chicken rollatini with roasted potatoes and veggies to go and devoured it all when we got home — everything was delicious.
The ambiance of the restaurant could use a little work, but that doesn’t take away from the great food. They also offer a generous Wednesday night special that we look forward to trying. Prices are fair and I see myself becoming a regular here.

My first experience Wednesday and I’m a big fan. We ordered the chicken special which was a ¼ tray of marinated chicken breast.
It was tender and delicious and a very generous order. It was served with tomatoes and red onions in a red vinegar marinate.
The order included about 1 pound of fresh macaroni salad which we loved. We will become regulars.

Flavorful and delicious. Chef John’s reminds me of a delightful Manhattan restaurant.
Preschool cafeteria comment I don’t understand. My palate is far more discriminating than a child’s. Chef John’s is no Cafeteria!

My mother, son, and I had the most delicious lunch here today. We started w/​2 delicious appetizers — mozzarella and corozza (kind of like an Italian cheese sandwich that you can dip into tomato sauce) and chicken tenders — both of which were truly delicious and extremely flavorful! We also decided to share a well presented and healthily delicious garden salad, which was so big that we brought most of it home. My Mom had sesame chicken with linguine pasta. She loved it and the portion was so big that she brought a lot home to share with my Dad. My son had a Cajun style shrimp scampi and also loved it. He said it was spiced just right. He chose a house salad for his side and he really enjoyed it. I had the eggplant parmigiana which was nothing absolutely delicious and enormous! I’m having the rest of it for my dinner with some of the house salad. At lunchtime I had penne pasta as my side, which was also yummy! I was happy to see that they offer beer and wine, but as we came at lunch time my group opted for water and soda.
The service was also excellent — happy, energetic, and eager to please. I am already planning my next visit! This restaurant is an excellent addition to the Floral Park-​Bellerose area!

I have just ordered from chef Johns, it came and went into the garbage. I am totally displeased!

Great meal!!! if you want to feel like you’re eating at home in comfort then this is the place for you. The service was great. The Reuben balls were amazing, the Thai meatballs have a nice heat to them without sacrificing any flavor. Can’t wait to come back. b
Idk what kind of preschool cafeteria this last commenter had but they are definitely wrong. Don’t let the small front fool you, there is a ton of flavor and the ambience of family and friends place. Fine dining this is not, but phenomenal food and atmosphere it is. I stole some of my friends fries and they were even better then they looked

One of my favorite lunch spots! Super yummy chicken Caesar wrap– it is tasty and super filling. A lot of times I can only eat half because it is so stuffed. Everyone that works there is really nice. It’s almost like stopping home to pick up your sandwich and then heading back to work. I also enjoy the chicken pesto, and the wild hog is good too.

I recommend the Pablo’s Pasta for everyone, it’s amazing. I’ve had it twice and it was great both times. I’m about to tear into the Spicy Burger, I’ll let you all know how it is. The food was fresh both times I ate from this restaurant!
