Sorry to have to leave less than favorable feedback for this staple of long time residents, but… taking 20 mins to get our Non-alcoholic beverages was only the start of our disappointing visit. This place USEDTOBEGOOD. The food along with service has gone way down hill. Greasy over fried meatless pieces of catfish this past visit leave us with the family consensus(after very slow service) of never coming here again. Too bad, a lost treasure as far as I’m concerned.

Best fried shrimp I have ever eaten. Friendly staff and excellent food. A definite for return visits to the area.

Bar, appetizers, large menu, outdoor seating, good service. I had a seafood trio. We were a large party, they have large tables. Food was pretty good.

This is a local fresh eatery right on the water. My husband and I love this restaurant he absolutely loves the fresh fish tacos. Every time we have friends and family coming to visit we normally take them to this restaurant. The hush puppies are little different they were absolutely fantastic very light and fluffy and crispy on the outside. I had the catfish fillet dinner last time amazing. My dad who is in town he ordered the catfish with bones in. I think he would’ve been happier with the catfish fillet dinner. The all you can eat catfish bone in dinner it was just a little bit more work than he was expecting. Of course at first he didn’t know how to eat it. I guess there’s a little trick to it. We had also ordered the gator appetizer it was very good.

I love this place. I go here for the low country boil and it’s great. I like to sit outside on the deck.

After so many raves from a co-worker I finally tried this place. I ordered the popcorn shrimp dinner with fries and Mac and cheese. My fiancé ordered the surf and turf and his parents ordered the Mahi-Mahi sandwich and the oyster dinner. All of the food was amazing! The Mac and cheese reminded me of my grandmother’s which brought back so many memories. The dinner platters are large enough you’ll be taking home leftovers.

Nice fish camp. The food is always pretty good. We did have some off alligator once but that was it. No frills place but has a great outside area.

Went with a group for an 88th birthday as this is one of the birthday girls favorites. She had a great time but my experience was mediocre. We got calamari and gator tail for apps. They were tasty but the gator tail I had was super chewy. I ordered the sesame tuna. They cooked it very rare as requested and the sauce was quite tasty. My «side Caesar salad» was huge, but fairly boring. My boyfriend got fried whole catfish which he felt needed sauce. I tried a bite and it wasn’t for me. He also got blackened mahi mahi. He said it was not hot. Birthday girl had fried oysters which she is quite particular about and she loved them. The biggest negative was we were dripped on by the air conditioner throughout the entire dinner. That wasn’t fun at all.

Too much fried food. The food is too oily. The only good is the smoked fish dip. This place is more like a slow service. Not my type of a place the benches are not comfortable.

I went to this place with my family after hearing from a friend it had great seating on the water and good seafood. He was right about both things. The deck is split in two, one wide open section and another glassed in section for smoking and such. The laid back environment was really good to pair with the chill view and feel of the water. The waiter was very informally dressed(Florida gator sweater) and I loved that lol. He was friendly and knew the menu pretty well of the top of his head. I got the stuffed flounder, which was more adventurous than I normally go but it was good with the white wine sauce. The appetizer i got was the fried pickles, which were thin and very lightly fried. I prefer mine thicker but some people may be into that. The key lime pie I had for dessert had some high expectations coming to my table and I was sadly disappointed for the first time during dinner. It was very acidic and sweet, but far too much so. It was also much smaller than the other slices of pie my family ordered! They were literally twice the size. All in all its a great place to take the fam for nice, friendly environment and good food. Be careful going outside tho it gets pretty chilly!

Great location and atmosphere. Average food. Poor quality waitstaff today. I usually have low expectations of waitstaff working on Sunday’s. This is a local favorite place and a long time icon so I maybe expected too much. Waitress was clueless on any menu questions and not seen very often. It was nice to note they had a very large staff present. I would guess over 30 folks working. I made two trips to the bathroom, on both occasions there were staff members cleaning and checking supplies(it needed neither cleaning or supplies either time). I look forward to coming back and trying again during the peak hours.

I was really excited to go here today since it was my birthday and I love seafood and wanted to celebrate. My girlfriend and I sat outside and started with a Swamp Onion: bland, undercooked with a forgettable sauce. Clam Strips: pre-battered and frozen. Fried Shrimp: bland, not seasoned. Fried Scallops: blah, blah. Fried fish: dry and dismal w/an extra delight in the form of a cook’s hair. Red Beans & Rice: like from a box of Zatarain’s. Collards: Not like my big mama’s for sure. Mac n Cheese: mushy & tasteless. Ribeye: it was just okay. Been going here since I was a young kid; had nice times and some good food over the years. What happened? I will never go again. Mgmt did give a righteous«hair in the batter discount», though.

This fish camp is fantastic! The seafood is always delicious and the portions are always great size! The service is normally pretty good. The salad bar is great! The salad bar is what makes this fish camp my favorite out of most because other fish camps don’t have one. There is a great view of the water when sitting outside. The atmosphere is fun. The hushpuppies are great, the batter that the seafood is fried in is wonderful it’s light and fried just perfect. They always have different specials daily. They like to use local caught fish and gator tail. There is a great variety of sides and they are good. Definitely a great place to eat when you want seafood!

Whiteys… Where river rats and tourists unite! We took a boat ride down the river to dine out at this place while down in Florida. The service was slower than a line at the DMV. My fish was dry as hell too… Our food literally took an hour and 45 minutes to get to our table. Not to mention, some random redneck proceeded to tell me that the boat we rode in on was a «piece of shit,» Whitey’s, get your you know what together. That’s my word and I’m sticking to it.

We found out that kids eat free on Wednesday nights so we decided to stop by & give it a try. The décor is cute, it’s right on the water so there’s a nice breeze & our server was very sweet. Lots & lots of fried food on the menu. Definitely not the place to frequent if you’re watching your waistline. Haha. I ordered the clam strips with black eyed peas, cole slaw & it came with 2 of the driest hush puppies that I’ve ever had. The peas were DELISH, the cole slaw was not & my clam strips were quite chewy. My hubby ordered a chicken wrap & crab cake. He didn’t have much to say which is a telltale sign that his food wasn’t anything to jump up & down about. The kids had a good time & enjoyed their mini burgers. We felt the menu was over priced as well. We had hoped this might be a new regular place for us, but I think once is enough.

Finally this is what this fish camp is suppose to be like!!! Truely this visit I had the best and freshest fish we have ever eaten here. The baskets were of great portion size. My Husband had the pork tacos(??) but they were very large and tasty. Neither of us could eat all of our orders. Baskets came with hush puppies, choice of chips or fries. Who could have room for all that? I feel they have Resonable prices on most dishes and they offer a All You Can Eat. Even though our waitress started out by spilling a drink but she was so apologetic you could only forgive her and let it go… and she was constantly checking on how we were doing, I felt the service was fast and friendly and they were always attentive this visit. Of course the main reason I come here is for the beautiful water views and boat watching. The band is always nice to listen to in the bar area. They have done some freshing up of the camp and it looks noticeable. I am now looking forward to going back for more of that Battered Fish and I hope it is still as good as this time…

Parking is scarce and it is very crowded. Interesting environment and nice views. Large menu selection however wish there was just a tad more flavor. Not as bad once you add sauces. Although forgetful, the he servers were very hospitable. Well priced menu items.
