Have been frequenting this bakery for at least 6 summers now; according to my last review, and this bakery is still consistently excellent. The baked goods are high quality and delicious. Loved their chai tea. Excellent location next to the Wrinkled Egg and Hubba Hubba BBQ in Historic Flat Rock.

Wood fired pizza totally rocks. We would eat there weekly(it’s nearby), unfortunately it’s rarely possible to call for take out. Will give 5 stars when they answer their phone. Have made at least 7 attempts to call ahead but constantly get voice mail. When you tell them abt it, all they say is, «Oh yeah, the phone is dead.» So charge it. Not that hard.

First class — from the attentive staff to the awesome wood fired brick oven pizza and delicious fresh breads. This is one of those rare gems that pushes back against our world of mediocrity. As I sit on their back deck, sipping on the steaming Colombian coffee and savoring every bite of that amazing brick oven Greek pizza, I realize the planets have indeed aligned and everything is as it should be in my world…

Delicious fresh bakery and awesome coffee. Visiting from out of town ate here twice. We had scones, croissants, and a yummy salad for lunch. Coffee is so good I had the light roast. Very smooth and flavorful. All the food was perfect you won’t be disappointed. Sit outside and bring your doggie too!

No one is talking about there coffee. It is great. Spent 2 days in flat rock and I went here 5 times. Good coffee, good food and good people. This place makes Flat Rock and I will be sure to always make a stop here when going to Asheville or Dupont for bike riding. Thanks for being awesome.

Your kale pizza is the best! I love all your breads especially the Jewish Rye! You’re quite a haul from my location so I’m super grateful to find your bread again through Mother Earth Produce. So happy to have your bread delivered to my door each week, Thank you for being awesome!

While dropping our daughter off at a local camp recently, my family and I stopped into The Wrinkled Egg to check things out. Conveniently attached to this establishment is the Flat Rock Village Bakery. Known for wood-fired organic artisan breads, we tried the classic Margarita pizza. This pizza contained the village scratch tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil. Not a bad pizza, I must say. It was only about 14″ and we ate the entire pie. Coffee was a local roast, although I can’t quite remember its name. Restrooms were clean and parking was at a premium as it is shared with several attached businesses. Friendly staff and outdoor seating. I will return to the Flat Rock Village Bakery upon my next camping trip to the mountains of North Carolina. /s/William E. Lewis Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Best baked goods and pizza in western NC. Where else can you get a bagel, ham and cheese croissant, hot cross bun, muffin, cinnamon swirl, Danish, etc. Very few places are worth the drive… this is one of them.

This is a special place to indulge in gourmet wood fired pizza. The dough is crisp and delicious and very artisan tasting, nothing generic about it! They also make sandwiches on their in house fresh baked bread. You can pick up a loaf while you’re there. Make sure to indulge in some of the best baked goods and pastries in WNC while you’re here. Even if you’re full take some to go. Highly recommend their danishes! Always perfect texture and a not too sweet taste. Beautifully balanced! This location is connected to a unique gift store called the Wrinkled Egg with parking at rear of building. They offer limited indoor seating as well as outdoor seating under beautiful mature trees. This special bakery pizza place in nestled away in the charming town of Flat Rock and worth a stop if you’re going for a drive in WNC.

This would be one of my #1 picks for eating in Henderson County! Every single thing we’ve ever tried here is delicious. The food is locally sourced and mostly organic. They have gluten-free pizza, which is delicious. Their sandwiches are tasty, and they have hot sandwiches in the Winter season. Delicious fresh bread — love the sour dough. The bakery salad is awesome with a yummy balsamic dressing. The chicken salad is delicious too! It gets very busy during the Summer months, and this place is small, so there’s usually a line. During Winter and Spring, we eat there at least once or twice a week for lunch! Don’t have to wait in long line! We totally recommend this place, but really don’t want to share the goodness! Ha!

What a great little bakery/café and a totally hidden gem! I would have never even known about this place until my husbands uncle suggested this for dinner. I was hoping to try one of the amazing looking sandwiches, but for some reason that night they were doing pizza only. At first I was extremely worried because I am lactose intolerant and cheese on pizza is something that makes me sick. I had mentioned that to the girls at the counter and was told they do have vegan cheese, so that made me really happy. I tried the veggie pizza with the vegan cheese and it was spectacular! I ate way more then I should have, but had some of the best pizza of my life. The outdoor seating area is really cute, quaint, and perfect for a lazy Friday evening meal. I hope to come back down to Hendersonville and stop here again!

Cute place, fast service. Pizza was not flavorful. I would go back but I would try a sandwich. The bread looks fantastic and other people I was with enjoyed their sandwiches. Attached shop pricing was pretty high, saw table lamps for over $ 300.

Amazing Pizza people! They really know how to make a wonderful job here! The Service is amazingly courteous, and your food comes right away. We were having a fun day visiting the waterfalls in the surrounding, and this was the perfect stop for a delicious quick meal. They also have a shop attached to the restaurant where you can look while you wait for your food. The wood fired brick oven creates a wonderful atmosphere and also the bread and the cookies looked delicious! Also… the bigger biscottis I have ever seen in my life.

Very good Sunday lunch. Food delivered fairly quickly during a busy lunch crunch. Sandwiches were very good but should be served with chips and a pickle considering the pricing. Pizza very good as well. Will return, hopefully to see some complimentary sides included with lunch sandwiches.

Wonderful atmosphere, great coffee and a fantastic ham & Swiss croissant. Just enough cheese for taste, but it didn’t overpower the ham or light buttery bread. My wife said that the blackberry & cream cheese tart was also excellent. Once again, the perfect amount of cheese so the blackberry flavor shined through. Nice large deck for seating & a cozy inside seating area for when the weather doesn’t cooperate. The only negative — they forgot about one of our drinks but never apologized for the mistake. They made it quickly & it was good, but an acknowledgement of the error would have been appreciated.

The reviews looked good, so we decided to eat lunch here following a morning full of picking apples at Justus Orchard. It has a big patio that is covered so you can enjoy eating outside without the hot sun beating down on you. The inside is really small. So, we know we had to eat outside. It looked like a High School track team arrived, so the wait was a little long — about 20 minutes in line, then ordered. Once we ordered it took awhile to get our sweet tea, it was busy and everyone must have ordered the tea. The food was spectacular. We ordered the turkey avocado sandwich, chicken salad sandwich with a salad and the Avocado BLT. The sourdough bread was out of this world! I should have bought a loaf as we left. Overall a good experience but it did take a long time to get our food and tea, but I wouldn’t hold that against them because of the track team arrived. They were apologetic for not having the food out sooner and about the tea. They probably will do a better job learning from this experience. I would eat here again.
