Walmart Supercenter

I loved the design of this Walmart. From the Family bathroom, which I originally thought was Unisex, to the landscaping in the parking lot, to the mountains in the background of the store. I enjoyed the views and they had everything we needed, even a bottle or two of Ciroc. Which was cheaper there than in the liquor store. But they also had no idea of what a Patti Sweet Potato Pie was.

Open ²⁴⁄₇.
Convenient, plenty of parking spaces, and did I mention it’s open 24 hrs?

This is actually one of the better Walmarts I have been too. While the selection is not as good as the Forest Meadows location, its usually very clean, and it has bike parking nearby, and its also open ²⁴⁄₇. The food selection here is also ok, and it has a nice variety of groceries, deli meat, and produce. It doesn’t have many organic choices, and the deli meat is not always the best quality; however its selection is good enough to be a one stop shop, which is kind of the point anyway. I don’t give 5 stars to department stores unless there’s something that really makes it stand out from others, and despite the convenience of this store as a one stop shopping experience, I have seen better.

They really need to improve their check out counters and I refused to ever use the bathrooms there if I could help it, they were always a wreck.

Arghhh! Used to be a very regular Walmart shopper until I heard how the company treats many of their employees. Been doing my best to avoid shopping at any Walmart since then. I have been very bad on our Arizona roadtrip.
Our relatives love Walmart. We went to this specific location 3 times! Yes, I must confess that even I bought something. Could not pass up on the cheaper prices than the competition.
This Walmart was much cleaner and organized than most other locations that I have seen in the past. Even the staff was nice and helpful. Maybe this branch treats their employees better than the other locations.
They have got to improve their restrooms by the checkout counters. There were only two family restrooms. No separate mens and womens restroom.
Other than that, no complaints.

This is absolutely the best Walmart I’ve ever been to – parking lot has LED lighting at night; mountains, solar panels and covered parking in the daytime.
Unlike someone else has mentioned, they actually do allow overnight parking, too, and there are plenty of RVs on the parking lot.
It is also open 24/​7, so, if it gets too cold, and you fancy a sleeping bag — not to worry! Better than running the engine all night long!

Due to the anti RV law enacted by the City of Flagstaff against overnight parking in Walmart. RVers should bypass Flagstaff and spend money at other Walmarts that are not controlled by little minded politions

We had the friendliest cashier. He was extremely help with information about the area and our transaciton.

I agree with the awkward location but it’s better than driving all the way across FLG to the larger store. I popped in around 10:30pm last night to pick up some wine, hair mousse, vitamins, and a vacuum pump wine preserver for my mom — a must have for wine. I wandered the aisles to find the electronics department which was quite small and had very few of what would of like to expect.
One thing I did notice was the parking lot. What is with the maze of exits? I think I made two illegal turns just to get in last night.

I don’t get over to Wal-​Mart much, not because I hate corporations or because of my own sense of self righteousness. It’s because it is quite possibly in the most awkward location of any building in Flagstaff, when coming from Cheshire. Also, I tend to buy toiletries and stuff of that ilk from online sources (soap). That said, I thought I’d share my experience this evening, and judge them on this one glorious experience.
I needed contact solution and checked online and Wally World had a great price. So, after work I headed over, ~6, and picked up what I needed. I then browsed for a half an hour and then got in line. The «20 item Speedy Checkout» lane according to the sign. It took 30+ minutes to get 10 people through this line, and I was in the faster of the 2 «fast» lanes. ~50 people queued up in the 4 open lanes in a store with 20 some lanes is just a terrible way to express dedication to customer service. Once I got to the front of the line, there was no apology for the long wait. I didn’t use any of my zingers about the speedy check out that I’d come up with while waiting. I was polite and that was extremely one-​sided.
I won’t lie, the people watching was interesting especially with a Planet Earth voice over in my head, (of course it was Attenborough, not Sigouney Weaver).
Here’s where you earned 1 star: after my checkout, I’m returning to my car and there are 2 girls fighting each other in parking lot. A crowd of people watching, from a distance, and I swore I heard some cheering, or at least some goading.
Thanks Wal-​Mart, the $ 3 I saved on contact solution was totally worth it.

The grocery section is fine. Other departments are small with a very limited selection of choices. You may not find what you are looking for at this particular Walmart if you have a particular brand in mind. And they have limited restrooms, so plan ahead!

Nice, new, Super Walmart so it has an extensive grocery section. Staff is friendly enough, prices are not as super-​cheap as you might expect — the grocery prices were in many examples comparable to the local grocery stores. Also their selection was a little narrower than some of the local grocery stores.
Last comment — the city did them no favors with access from the North. You can’t easily turn into their parking lot — you end up having to drive all the way past the place, then make two lefts to get into the far end of the parking lot.
It’s almost as bad leaving to go South. They need to petition for an improved traffic pattern.
