I read somewhere that this is THE park to go to in Fishers, so of course we had to visit. Everyone must have read the same thing I did, because on the day we were here, there were SO many people! So depending on how much you like other people and other people’s kids, your mileage may vary here. This would definitely be a good place for a kid to meet a new friend. The play structure is gigantic, and is divided into two sections: one for toddlers and one for bigger kids. The toddler section has ramps to walk up, monkey bars, two slides, a rope spider web thing, and some hidey-hole tunnels to crawl under. The big-kid section has fast twisty slides, a rock wall, a big fort, poles to slide down and another spider web to climb up. Of course, there are swings, although I didn’t see any baby swings, so that’s a bummer. There were two chair swings, though, so depending on how well your baby can sit, he or she might enjoy the chair swings. Right off of the playground is a bank of picnic tables under a shaded atrium, as well as benches all around the playground. The playground area is covered with wood chips, not sand. But fear not, sand lovers! A short walk away from the playground is a huge double volleyball court filled with sand. The kids played quite a while at this«beach»(their words). Of course, you probably shouldn’t play here while people are actually PLAYING volleyball, but the sand is so nice and perfect for making sand castles, so it’s hard to resist. All around the park is a walking path; there’s also a soccer field and baseball field, as well as just a whole lot of open space to run or fly a kite. This is a nice park.
