This was our first time here & I have to say that the previous ratings of a one star is crazy! My family had a blast! This is one of the cleanest place I’ve ever been too. The staff were so friendly and the snack bar prices are very reasonable. The pizza wasn’t so tasty, that’s just mine & my husband’s opinion. $ 11 bucks for 2 kids including rental is one of the best groupon deals I’ve ever purchased. We literally spent 4hrs here. Overall I would have to say my family & I had a great experience & will be returning.

We absolutely love Rollin 253. We are there twice a week with our skate team. I even book our school skate nights once a month there. The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. So if you want a family friendly place to have fun this is for sure the place to be.

I like that they have redone the bathrooms. Staff is friendly and helpful. Join the kids skate free program( ) and you only have to pay for skate rental if you go during select times on Wednesday and Friday. Sign up at least a week before you want to go the first time — they won’t cut you any slack when you’re there if you don’t have your coupon. And if you don’t have a good skater, be prepared to shell out an extra $ 5 for their special balance things(they have tons of them). I wish they weren’t so expensive! I swear they plant kids in the rink with them :) Whenever my kids see others with them they feel the need to have one also. If you only have one kid, no big deal. But we always have lots of kids with us when we go so even though we are skating for«free» we still drop quite a load of money. The food always smells good, too, so be prepared to buy an expensive snack, or eat right before you go and promise ice cream sundaes for the whole family when you get home :) Great music, fun lighting, and a fun group game(wish they did a couple more) while you skate makes this place lots of fun!

I love working at the skating rink it is soooo fun… i meet a lot of new people every day and even the ones that come all the time they are great to talk to and fun to have around. And its also great place for kids it keeps them out of trouble my family comes with me all the time. It really is a good place I listen to kids say when I get old enough I want to work here we make a impact on kids and adults and that makes us happy and we work our hardest to make all of our customers happy. O and I love our food it is very good compared to a lot of other places my favorite are the pretzels and it really don’t cost as much so that is a plus.

Not kid friendly, management is not friendly, all about making a buck, don’t care about the kids.

EDIT: To top it all; they have kicked out a junior league(ages 12 – 16) in the middle of the season for no other reason than to start up their own non-competitive team for more revenue. These poor kids don’t even realize they’ll never compete like the true leagues in the PNW, and this«community center» absolutely ruined an entire team, purely out of greed. Despite the team’s willingness to play the manager’s games, move to whatever spot they requested, and accepting being bumped out of practice days prior to this, Rollin 253’s interest was not in the children in the community at all. And that is more sickening to me than anything else I’ve posted below. This is not a good business, and these are not good people. Unless you are giving them money and the manager has taken her happy pills, you’re likely to experience the same. I’m really sad that places like this exist and falsely advertise themselves as positive elements in the community. I’ve been here when the place had sewage problems for over a month, and the rink literally smelled like s**t. For months, there were plastic cups all over tables & counters trying to catch fruit flies. When it rains the roof always leaks and creates slip/fall hazards on the rink floor, that have never been repaired– they just capture the water till it stops raining. In 3 years they have changed management and teams so many times it’s not even funny. The current one swings between super pleasant and snappy/short with guests. The kids are good employees for the most part but lack direction(or so I appears). The bathrooms need repairs and often smell bad, even when the rink is not open for session skating. Paint is chipping from the rink floor and is so dirty my kids have to clean their wheels constantly. Lighting is good. They recently added a bigger selection of items to the snack bar. Music is loud, and generally your standard pop/skating tunes, but some of it really isn’t appropriate for children, especially on a Sunday afternoon. There is nowhere near enough parking for the rink and it’s neighbor businesses when two or more are open at the same time, and twice that I know of there have been car break-ins right outside the rink at night. It’s a skating rink. If your expectations are low you will probably be fine. But I’d rather drive to Olympia or Federal Way. I’m tired of the nonsense here.

We love it here! Jerri, the owner is so friendly and the camps she puts on keep our kids busy when school’s not in session. It’s a great place to keep families moving when the weather is damp as well. Brandon and Taylor who work there keep the momentum with games and lessons. Today my son fell and Brandon pretended to fall next to him so he wouldn’t feel bad.

Awesome family friendly place! And I just found out they have a summer camp program that includes skating, activities and even tutoring! So fun and exciting to have a place like this be conscious about the needs of the community.

My kids love this place(and who am I kidding, so do I). It’s been a fantastic Summer getaway for them, and we plan to continue giving them our business into the foreseeable future. If you grew up here in the 80’s like I did, and miss the sights, sounds and smells of the old roller rink on Mildred(home to the current USPS processing building), then do yourself a favor and check Rollin’ 253 out.

Not sure how much JUNIOR W skates but for someone who has worked at many different skating rinks. TLC in Kent and also Skate King in Bellevue. Its customers like him that make a skating rink no longer fun. I currently skate at 253 and am on their Roller Derby Team. I enjoy it and I see allot of what their structure is as the same it is anywhere. YOUCANNOTWORKAT13 years old there fore no staff member is 13 years old. and when you do have to tell people to stay off the walls and or slow down you do have to get close to them(in their face) so to speak due to the fact that music is usually playing at skating rinks. & the PVC pipe assistant. If you go to Tiffany’s and or any rink they all have them. I personally think that NOCHILD should use them. Parents should teach their kids to skate. Rollin 253 has come a long ways to what it was 3 years ago. I am glad to see that they are pushing to keep it open as there is not allot for teenagers to do anymore. Also I feel skating is a great family event its cheap and also gets fitness in your life. Check this place out its a great place to hold a birthday party and or just to go for a family day.

I love skating here! The floor is fast and super fun to skate on. There are always specials running on the days the kids(and adults) are off school. The music is fun and the staff is helpful. Did you know they have roller derby for both kids and adults here? The Toxic Clean-up Crew and Toxic 253 are super kick-butt roller derby people that love new members to come and try out roller derby AND they will teach you how to do it. Couldn’t ask for a better place to skate! PS– Junior W– it’s against the law to have a 13 year old working so the staff was probably 16 or older and a skate rink is a good place for kids to have their first job experience. Also, the«pvc pipe» configurations is to teach kids to learn to use their balance– as a tool to learn confindence. When kids are holding on to something, they feel more secure. If they don’t fall once in awhile, they won’t learn to try harder not to the next time.
