This is not your average coffee shop. The owner has gone to great lengths to provide fresh, original, savory and healthy salads, sandwiches, quiche and baked goods. You will easily find gluten free options. She also now has breakfast sandwiches. Everything is prepared onsite and made to order. Fresh, fresh, fresh! Her coffee, lattes and espressos are great too! Superb! …but this café has so much more to offer. It is cozy with a wonderful bay of windows and comfy seating. Check out her cookies– take some for the road! Someone earlier saud not– friendly ??? What? I have stopped here several times, spoken with the very friendly owner, and oogled over the gorgeous nature photography on the walls and for sale. I’m guessing if someone’s in a big rush, not knowing the value of freshly made, they may need to go get some fast food and get over themselves This is very good homemade fare. And very friendly.

Came in today after multiple visits and had the South of the Border Mexican Iced Coffee. OH. MY. GOSH. If you need a pick-​me-​up, then stop by and enjoy the divinely decadent gluten free Peanut Butter cookies. Java Etc. makes all of their treats in house so just remember, good things come to those who wait.

Definitely worth checking out f you are in the neighborhood. Delicious quiche and a yummy Cinnabun latte to kick start the day.

Came in with my toddler for lunch. My daughter got a bagel with cream cheese and cocoa, I got their Westlake sandwich and caramel latte with almond milk. I love that they had milk alternatives — soy, almond and hemp! The staff was welcoming and pleasant and took the time to acknowledge and chat with my daughter. Often toddlers are ignored, so that made her day. Food and drinks were yummy and hit the spot for an easy, affordable lunch without resorting to fast food. I’m really glad I pulled in, we will come again!

Amazing place! Best coffee in Tacoma not kidding the very best! I’m very picky on my coffee and have tried many many places. This is by far the best coffee. Also she makes fresh food here and other baked goods that are super yummy. I love the crust less quiche and the Greek salad is to die for. Others that I’ve tried are a variety of her sandwiches that she makes on the spot with your order and always taste clean & fresh which is hard to come by here In Tac when you don’t have time for a sit down restaurant. If your like me and like to support local mom and pop places pls think about this place when needing a latte or a quick bite to eat.

Not super friendly. They have a very limited breakfast, even more so when they didn’t have half the items. The coffee Was on point though. I really wanted to try there sandwiches for lunch because the looked awesome.
3÷24÷16− I decided to try this place again. Still breakfast so no food. However the service was also much more friendlier. Not 100%, but I believe it was the same woman I interacted with before. After my 1^st visit, a rep reached out to me and said the employee was battling a migraine. So I credit for this business reaching out quickly and the employee still providing a good drink.

The owner is so passionate about her business. You won’t find any breakfast sandwhiches but she can make you a croissant with your choice of fresh quality meat cheese and homemade spread (i recommend the ham and cheddar with honey dijon spread). They are made to order but well worth the wait. The only negative part of our experinece was the other lady working seemed displeased to work there and not willing to learn it was really awkward watching her make mean faces behind the owners back. You can tell the owner has so much knowledge to share it is a shame she is isn’t willing to learn.
Ps the fruit smooothies and salads are also amazing if you’re looking for a good place for lunch.

I spend a lot of time on the road. Every Thursday morning, I stop by Java Etc to prepare for my nearly 2 hour commute to Redmond. I have to say, I’ve never found a place that has coffee and service of this caliber. My almond milk, vanilla/​hazlenut latte is the only way I can get through the Renton S-​curves without having an aneurysm. I look forward to the little chats I have with the owner while she expertly creates the drink that will save my life (at least on Thursday mornings).

I ordered two coffees to-​go, one decaf coffee and then one of those sweet latte drinks for my girlfriend. The coffees took a really long time to make (not that I minded because it was cool to see the barista do each step, but there was a line behind me). It was also a bit more expensive than I anticipated. Anyways, when I got home I had my first sip and thought the coffee was amazing but a few sips later I quickly realized the barista switched the coffees. She gave me regular and my girlfriend decaf. It was a huge bummer because I can’t drink regular, I have a thyroid disorder and if I drink caffeine my heart starts racing and I start shaking, which is unfortunately what happened to me.

This place is amazing. The owner is here first thing every morning, with a smile and a brings a warm happy feeling to the place. My wife always comes here for their special cold brew iced vanilla latte with a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese. This is by far the best latte we have had since moving out here. The cookies and cinnamon rolls are made on sight and its a lucky day when you get them hot out of the oven. My personal favorite is the peanut butter cookie with chocolate chips.

This place is fabulous! The owner /​operator is friendly, and attentive. The coffee is amazing! The food is beyond delicious, and she even has vegetarian options of everything. The food is all made fresh, and worth the wait. Very warm and inviting setting. It’s never been «loud» when I’m in there, even when super busy… so it’s a great place to enjoy the free wi-​fi and get some work done while enjoying the food and beverages. I recommend to everyone!

I’ve been coming here for a while. Location has easy parking. Interior space is spacious with variety of seats and tables, great space for meetings and working. Free wifi and homey interior. New owner is personally behind counter daily. Food and coffee is perfection. Breakfast quiche and cinnamon rolls are AMAZING! Service could be faster, but the quality is definitely worth any wait. This place is MUCH better than previous owners, and it was decent then.
