Sometimes it’s tasty sometimes it’s not. That may be a reflection of the dish ordered or it may be a reflection of the preparation. On one recent occasion I had totally yummy battered cod, which I would gladly get again. And on another recent occasion had deeply, profoundly, exceedingly disappointing grilled calamari, which I will never try again from this place. They were among the worst I’ve ever had. Hence, three stars, since, like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get(no, they don’t have bubba gump shrimp here, but do have other kinds). The side selection is limited and, of the ones I’ve tried, none have been too thrilling — though, notably, also not terribly disappointing. Even the lunch special here is a bit pricey, but if you get one of the good dishes, it may be worth it. Staff can come across as pushy, as in trying to push you to buy more, which can be annoying, though otherwise friendly.

I eat here too much not to have written a review. The curry here is amazing. Either with chicken or salmon. Perfect amount of heat creamy, smooth sauce and great texture with meat/rice/peppers and(most importantly) bamboo shoots. Eating sea bass with a corn cake now and green beans which is awesome and perfectly cooked fish w a good Browning on outside(no breading needed). And green beans here are the best with sliced almonds. They also have a great shrimp po-boy. Best food option in Comcast hands down. Great crew running it also and great selection of fresh fish. They give good tips on how to prepare. Been coming back for years. Anything they have is worth getting

I’m on the road a lot, and really appreciate when I find food that is reliably healthy and tasty, with quick service — so I can eat there again and again. It’s especially important because I’m very allergic to gluten, so it’s both time consuming and risky to shop around. Under the C has become by go-to lunch spot during my project in Philly. I get fish(either salmon or tilapia) and double green beans(with a hint of honey and almonds) at least once a week, if not 2 – 3 times. The staff at Under the C knows my name and they tease me if I’m having lunch very late or they haven’t seen me in a while. I’ll really miss Under the C when I’m no longer on this project.

This is a pescatarian’s dream come true! I worked on a project in Philly for 4 months, and this was my go-to place for lunch and dinner! I would order any variety of the fish they offered and two sides. It was a great deal because I could get fish and 2 sides for $ 10.99. I would eat half of it for lunch and save the other half for dinner! I loved that they had a great variety of fresh fish and a good choice of sides and healthy vegetables. This place is a true gem. Although it’s just a walk-up eatery, this place gets all 5 of my stars just because I’ve never tasted any food from here that I’ve disliked.

Their service is quick Nd their food is delicious! I have enjoyed their lunch specials and I’ve taken food home for dinner. Great salmon and crab cakes and I love their coconut shrimp!

I had the fish sandwich. They offer a tilapia, flounder, or Cod. I went with the cod and a side of slaw. It was made in 7 minutes. Fresh flaky and delish! Im going back tomorrow.

It is a seafood counter in the Comcast Center food court, but also has a selection of oriental foods for take away. I ordered two types of dumpling, one a steamed meat dumpling, and the other a fried vegetarian dumpling. The steamed meat dumpling was delicious with ginger, and scallion along with the meat in a delicate wrapper making it look more like a mini burrito than a dumpling. The standard pot sticker was over cooked, and the filling lacked flavor. So batting 500. Will go back.

10.992 crab cales and 4 shrimp and 2 slaws. Awesome and on my diet. In comcast center. Will be back. Really good, and I know my seafood.

Under the C used to be my go-to place for yummy fresh soft shell crabs in season. The friendly staff would sauté them up fresh for me on Saturdays but alas for the past two seasons there has not been a chef to prepare them when I visit. Last week I was kind of desperate for soft shell crabs and had them reheat some that were previously sauteed. Unfortunately they tasted… reheated. Under the C would be a five star destination if the chef is there or if you are getting something like a crab cocktail, but if you are tring to get something freshly prepared, you may want to drop anchor somewhere else.

Ok — reheated seafood is a big no no. Imagine breaded seafood that’s sitting around and then reheated and served… um GROSS! It’s a nice and clean looking place, but the prepared seafood leaves a lot to be desired. Next.

Came here for lunch yesterday. I have passed by before hoping to get a lunchtime lobster roll, and lo and behold today they had one on special. $ 15 is about as much as I’m willing to pay for one, so I ponied up the cash. When it came out, I was served a mess of lobster salad atop a butter-soaked hoagie roll with some lettuce and tomato. Nothing else came with it, not even some fries(although the sandwich itself was really filling). Aside from being messy and hard to eat, I just didn’t like it all that much. The tomatoes couldn’t even fit on the sandwich. The lobster salad was tasty but had a little too much mayo. The toasted hoagie roll oozed melted butter everywhere. After I was done my hands were greasy. That’s not really a great sign. Overall, a pretty mediocre lobster roll. But that’s what you get for eating in the basement of the Comcast Center. I’m sure their other food is decent(and based on the prices, probably a better value), but when I walk away thinking that I would have been better off at Panda Express across the aisle, that’s never a good sign.

I work right next door to the Comcast Center, so this is a really convenient stop on my way home. Good things-the seafood selection is large, reasonably priced and fresh. Especially loved the salmon I’ve picked up here. Crab cakes look delicious-gotta try some soon. Bad things-tried one of the lunch specials — fish and chips. Pretty sure the fish was fried earlier in the day, and then thrown back in the fryer for a few minutes to heat it up-was super tough, batter was chewy. Def would not get it again.

They have a great selection of seafood, fresh fish, as well as sushi grade fish. This is where I come to do my seafood shopping. They also have precooked items available for lunch, although I’ve never tried any of the items. I did however get the green beans with shaved almonds to take home, that were fantastic but the pre-made breaded tilapia tasted extremely fishy and the breading was super mushy. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I’m not sure how these prices compare to anywhere else, but I think it might be on the more expensive side– 4 salmon filets run at about 23 bucks.

This place is a nice change from the usual lunch choices. I got a lunch platter with a crab cake and 2 sides — mac and cheese and coleslaw. The crab cake was awesome. The sides were subpar. And it cost about 10.78. A little pricey but you can pick between ten-fifteen fish and ten sides. You can also get raw fish, lobster, etc. to go to make at home. They have an insane selection. Everyone there is really nice, attentive and everything comes up really quick.

I’m very lucky to be able to stop here on my way home to pick up fresh fish for dinner.(Stop here, then across the market at Sookhee’s produce for veggies to pair with your fish!) I usually make my selection based on whatever looks good that day, and I’m completely satisfied 99% of the time. They’re very friendly and helpful with suggestions for serving, and their price for ahi tuna($ 12.99/lb) is about half that of our local Whole Foods.

i really like this place. in fact, since next week is my last week working in the comcast center, i think i’ll splurge with a lobster roll from under the C. friendly service, good food and reasonable prices for seafood(you try finding a lobster roll for under $ 20 anywhere else…). my only complaint is the spice mixes they use in some of their dishes. i’m not a fan of the sweet spice mix added to the otherwise perfect crabcakes. and even the lobster roll is overseasoned — it’s supposed to be a very simple sandwich. at any rate, when i’m craving seafood and i had enough overtime pay from last week, under the C is the place to be. :)

Until this summer I was a person who only cooked chicken. That’s it. But then I discovered Under the C, which is conveniently located in the concourse of my office building. The staff is so helpful and friendly… they have taught me basically whatever I need to know about buying fish, what it should look like, smell like, etc. Then they tell me how to cook it! This is not like shopping at Superfresh. It may be a bit more expensive than the average grocery store but I gladly pay it for the ease of shopping and the expertise of their employees. Plus, the fish is consistently fresh and delicious.

i didn’t know how to rate this. it’s a really different option for lunch, so that makes it great, but i didn’t want to over-star. ideally, i’d give this a 3.5, but since we don’t do half stars, i’m going with 3. i must say, though pricey(it is seafood after all), the options available to you are GREAT. i think people didn’t really understand this place when it first opened. you can buy fresh seafood there, and at first glance, it just looks like a specialty seafood shop. it seems like in the past year, they have made huge efforts to change this perception of their business — and it’s a good thing for us all. looking in the display case, you can see a seemingly endless row of seafood delights. here, you can choose to get deep fried, grilled, pan-fried, seared fish/shellfish and also select from an assortment of veggies. as i mentioned before, this place can get a bit pricey, but you can find items that are not unreasonable. most of the items are weighed and all have different per weight prices associated with them. some things, like crab cakes or lobster cakes(!!) are priced per piece. for example, a mini lump crab cake was $ 3.00 each and a jumbo lump crab cake was $ 6.00. WHAT I ATE *grilled grouper with fresh herbs this fish was very tasty and didn’t have that fishy leftover taste at all. the piece they gave me was HUGE. i couldn’t finish it. they also had tilapia and halibut, but i enjoyed my grouper selection quite a bit *crab stuffed mushroom i find that people have difficulty making a good stuffed mushroom. i think they usually forget to salt the mushroom itself because you’re so concerned with the flavor in the stuffing. under the c’s stuffed mushroom was no exception, but the stuffing itself was super tasty. i ended up eating just the stuffing and leaving most of the mushroom cap. *cucumber and tomato salad + cilantro + red onion + minced garlic this was AWESOME. i don’t really feel the need to get excited about salad, or really, veggies(unless they are artichokes and brussel sprouts), but this was really good. the flavors really worked well together, with the brightness of the cilantro and the bite from the red onion. the minced garlic added that extra layer of flavor too. YUM. i would definitely go back for this. i don’t frequent this place TOO often since it is not INexpensive, but i really appreciate having it available to me when i am craving fish or seafood and don’t want to go to a sitdown restaurant. you can always swing by here and get takeout or buy raw seafoods to take home as well.

Ok, now normally I would have given Under the C 4 stars — as the prices are HIGH(you are paying for that gorgeous high-rent store in the Comacast Center, BUT… (and I usually have a really big BUT) Now that we have met Bruce — the world’ best fishmonger — the get 5 stars and our business for sure! Bruce showed my 5 year old’s Pre-K class the lobsters in the lobster tank, and even let one of them hold one. Alas, my little one was not that one –but Bruce came to the rescue. My little girl got her picture taken holding a huge lobster. Plus she loves to eat the cooked shrimp. And we love the convenience of having fresh tilapia, salmon and snapper to take home. We are glad you are here, Under the C. And we love Bruce. GIVEHIM A BIGRAISE!!!
